I don't like to review something if I didn't have a great
I don't like to review something if I didn't have a great experience because I know I am just one person. After receiving a few pokes from your dealership to leave review, however, I finally did. I will share with you what I wrote for the Google review. First visit and frustrated - I have a certified, pre-owned GMC and after 2k miles, my brakes started to squeal, when driving in traffic. I made an appointment and was told this would be covered under the warranty. I then requested to have the heating airflow and a hanging cable checked while they had my car. When I dropped my car off the night before the schedule service date, I was asked what services I needed again - slightly annoying but not a deal breaker. The next day I received a call (at the end of the day) saying all their techs were at some training but they would take a look at my heating air flow the next day. This was frustrating for two reasons; I wasn't informed they wouldn't be looking at my car on the day I scheduled service and there was no mention of brakes at all, which was the primary issue. When I inquired about the brakes, I was again asked what the issue was. The next day I was told that my car was taken for a test drive and that squealing brakes in traffic is normal and my brakes are fine. When I expressed that it should not be considered normal and that I had concerns for the rotors, I was then told I could pay for the service to be done and that it would not be covered. When I picked up my car, my receipt showed that the odometer in and out was 2 miles. My actual odometer did not show a 2mile trip. Trust is huge when it comes to service and I am not feeling it.

Terrible sales team.
Terrible sales team. I felt like you are bothering them. One price, then a mandatory price for options you don't even want. Will never buy from them.

We received a fair price for our trade in, the purchasing
We received a fair price for our trade in, the purchasing process went smoothly, and financing was uncomplicated. We received information from our Sales Associate, Andrey, before and after the purchase. He did a great job at listening to our needs, followed up with us and helped us find our new car. No uncomfortable pressure from start to finish - search to purchase. Thank you.

Sam Namman initially seemed like an incredibly nice and
Sam Namman initially seemed like an incredibly nice and helpful guy. That did not last long. I came up from Florida to purchase a 2018 Highlander my dad had kindly test driven for me. Sam 1. hid body damage from my dad, then lied about it to me, explaining that it was "heat cracking" when it was clearly a poor bondo repair. 2. We noticed a leaking tire, he said his shop would repair it before sale (they didn't), it was a bent rim. Since the leak took only about ten minutes to pop a warning light, they must have repeatedly filled the tire without my knowledge during the buying process. I ended up stranded on the highway on 95 by Richmond headed home from the dealer. He initially said sorry and accepted blame, but then snapped back since he was angry I fought the price down, then blamed my father when I persisted, saying he bent the rim during his 20 min test drive!? I paid $200 to fix the bent rim and $150 for a new tire. Sam knew I drove from Florida and wasn't going home without the car. That's on me. But his pursuit of a quick buck put me in danger on the highway and I think that's shameful.

If ever there was a business deserving of zero stars,
If ever there was a business deserving of zero stars, this is it. You can not trust one single thing that the Jim McKay sales team says. Don’t waste your time even calling them - Pohanka Chevy is just down the road and far more competent and professional. Below is a summary of my experience, feel free to repeat it at your own risk… My sales rep, Tamieka, quoted me a price for purchasing my car, after discussing it with her manager. The price, of course, is subject to final inspection of the car. Her manager, Matt, who was incredibly rude and arrogant and confrontational, “revised” the estimate down by $8500. Yes you read that correctly - they offered EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS less. Maybe you’re reading this and thinking “surely the car must have been a clunker and leaking every fluid possible”. No, not at all. The reasons I was given were as follows: 1) tires needed replacing - which I had previously told Tameika, and was told had already been factored into the estimate that she provided via text message. Apparently, Tameika neglected to tell Matt about that. Rather than being professional and saying “let me discuss with Tameika, must have been a miscommunication on our end”, Matt simply said “well I didn’t know about the tires so this is the new price”. I then went and brought Tameika in to join the conversation, and she confirmed to both me and Matt that we had discussed the condition of the tires previously. You would think, in a customer service focused business that that might change something - but no. That didn’t change one thing - neither in the amount offered, or in Matt’s terrible and unprofessional demeanor. And, even if the tires weren’t factored into the original offer, a) they sure as xxxx don’t cost $8500 and b) we could have worked out a new deal, less the cost of the tires, had Matt chosen to be professional and courteous and offer a reasonable new offer price. 2) there was wear on the drivers seat leather - again, something I had told Tameika, and wasn’t communicated to Matt - same exact story as the tires 3) that I was the 4th owner of the car - something they already knew before making the initial offer 4) the mileage of the car - again, something they knew before making the initial offer price The general manager, Rahel, then got involved. While she did her best to resolve things, which I appreciated, and was very professional, and apologized for the incompetence and despicable business practices of the other two, she wasn’t able to do anything else to make the situation right. I appreciated that she tried and genuinely felt bad for her, spending all her time covering for the mistakes / incompetence / deception of the other two. In short - don’t waste your time with this place. They sure as xxxx don’t respect your time. They have no problem lying in order to get you into the showroom, and then changing the story, and don’t care one bit about how much time of your time is wasted. This felt like either extreme levels of incompetence, or a “bait and switch” ie offering one thing over the phone to get you in the showroom, then switching to a much lower offer once you’ve arrived. They went from being the highest offer of the approx 10 dealerships that I contacted to the absolute lowest - the swing was that big. In short - do not believe one single thing that this sales staff tells you. Pohanka, on the other hand (whose initial offer was slightly lower but was at least genuine and honest) simply took my keys, confirmed the condition of the car was in line with what we discussed, shook my hand and cut me a check. Unless you enjoy being misled, don’t value your time, and really enjoy frustration and dealing with rude and unprofessional people, don’t waste your time even calling these guys, and just go straight to Pohanka.

Great!
Great!!!! I purchased my 2024 Trax from Jim McKay I was warmly welcomed by the entire team. Darreus took his time showing me the 2024 Trax RS, meticulously demonstrating its impressive features. I was thoroughly impressed--so much so that I decided then and there that the Trax was the vehicle for me. If you're looking for a new vehicle please go see Darreus at Jim McKay in Fairfax, Virginia.
