Worst company ever
Terrible customer service, never call back, give you false information about the vehicle your about to buy. Then a month after you buy it you find out your new purchase has a salvage title and it is now your problem. Even though they ensure you it has a clean title. Nothing but lies. Run, do not use this dealership. Save your self the pain I'm now dealing with!

Failed title transfer.
I sold my car to CarMax, 6 months later I'm being drug through the wringer by tollway collection company from the far corner of the continent. I have to waste my time defending myself against frivolous fines to the tune of literally $11, or risk punitive reporting the credit bureaus. Because I chose CarMax, I have to waste time communicating with belligerent collection agents, then go running for a solution to the problem to defend my name. Remember, it's not the $11 fine that's the issue. It's that the vehicle is rolling around the country, still in my name. CarMax is demonstrating zero culpability for the problem. No understanding of the imposition of their mistake has caused. Complaining to them about their performance has gotten me hung up on twice. I'll never ever be back.

Insulting waste of my time
I emailed ahead of time to have the car cleaned so I could check the paint condition. My salesman did a very poor job cleaning the car for me. They said there was zero room in price on my used car then offered me half the KBB trade value on my trade in vehicle. I do not recommend Carmax to anyone and I will not be doing business with them.

UPDATE. CarMax has HAD MY CAR FOR OVER 9 WEEKS!!
CarMax fixed everything. KUDOS to Daniel to take partnership with me. Very pleased with out come. 10.12.2018 I wouldn't even give it 1 star but didn't have a choice. CARMAX HAVE MY CAR FOR 9++ WEEKS AND 3 CAR PAYMENTS WITH YET AN ETA. LOT OF LIP SERVICE! Unfortunately I did not read reviews when I was in a desperate need of a new car. Purchased a 2014 vehicle w/ 30000 miles in Jan 2017. Fortunately I also purchased the extended warranty. My car has been back 4 times re: transmission. The first couldn't find anything, 2nd time they "said" it was a recall on a sensor. Tranny was no different. Called again. The service rep told me to take it to a trannny place and pretty much leave them alone. I purchased the extended warranty. NO YOU FIX IT. Brought it back again...and this time they did FIND that it needs a new tranny at 44000 miles! Wow! Needless to say they have had my vehicle since mid August 2018 and today is October 3 2018 AND STILL NO CAR! I Spoke to the manager of the store who called me per my request and was totally clueless! Kept asking me the questions he should have been explained to me. For example he kept asking me over and over when the ETA was? Really? That is what I want to know. Very disappointed had not reviewed file or dates and was worthless! I then reached out to customer relations in VA and got a hold of Garrett. He too was worthless! All he did was pat himself and CarMax on the back...he kept telling me "the service department contacts you every day (not true) and you have a loaner car." Really? I purchased a car that has been at Carmax now for 9 weeks and 3 car payments! They offered to appraise it and purchase it back...right! I purchased the car to drive for the next 10+++ years NOT to sell it in 18 mos. I would be SO UPSIDE DOWN! Reached out to Garret again today, Oct 3, 2018 and he had the audacity to tell me I have no money into it...not the repairs CUZ I bought a warranty BUT I DO HAVE MONEY INTO IT!!! Garrett hung up on me so I reached out to the executive response team/Jeremy with a promise he would get back to me by the end of his shift today 7pm ET. It is NOW 8:40pm ET... HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM HIM...IMAGINE THAT!!! I also noticed an AWFUL lot of rust around all the inside metal. Flood car? ALL I CAN SAY IS NEVER EVER BUY FROM CARMAX!!! RUN RUN RUN. I'd probably buy from a private party next time.

I didn't like the experience
I didn't like the experience at all. All the rules that they have really take away from the fun of buying a car and any control the buyer has over the purchase. They tell you what they are selling the car for, they tell you what they will purchase your car for, and there are rules on how you can test dive the car. It felt like a prison release program.

Great experience!
Carmax was a great place to purchase a vehicle. Friendly no pressure atmosphere! The people in the business office, especially Alex, were very helpful and pleasant. Ryan, my sales guy was awesome as well.
