Terrible Experience and Racist

I went to buy a car with my husband. We were approved online and was going just to pick up. Once the sales rep saw us, the problems began. First it was we had to log into their server computer and have their rep watch us login to our bank account to prove our income. Who does that? My privacy is extremely important to me. I emailed all my statements. Then it was they sold the car already. Mind you I was approved online and completed all the paperwork with the online/ telephone representative. All of a sudden you don’t have the car. The staff was rude and we felt as if we were singled out because we value our privacy. I even asked to speak to their security officer to feel more comfortable about their banking login requirement. Terrible company and location.

This place is a joke

Went here to test drive a car planning to purchase the car in cash. Arrived at 1:45pm on a Saturday. Said there was a 2 hour wait for a sales agent. Walked the lot and found a car we wanted to buy, but wanted to test drive first and scanned the QR code and made an appointment at 2:00pm for 2:45pm that same day. Finally, at a little after 4:00pm, the sales agent came by and said that the car is no longer available and somebody paid to transfer it to Atlanta. I showed him my email saying that I put that car on hold, and he went to look into it. 45 minutes later, I still hadn't heard from him, and my family of 4 was getting restless. All this time, the car is sitting just outside the window just feet away. I went and talked to a different employee, and they assured me a customer on site has priority over an offsite customer wanting to transfer the same car. The original sales agent finally came back and said all was resolved and we can test drive the car! As we were walking over waiting for him to take our information, a manager walked over and said the car isn't available, referencing this mysterious transfer to Atlanta again and that they have priority since they scheduled that at 10am that day. SO many things were wrong with this place. How can I book a test drive on a car that's not available, wait 3 hours, and then be told that the same car that I placed a hold on so nobody could take it from us, was already spoken for hours before I even got there. Almost 4 hours after arriving, we were left with no car, no apology, and cash still in our pocket (the only good thing about the day). How does cash in hand not trump a no guarantee-of-purchase transfer? This place is a joke run by incompetence with no care for procedures or their customers.

Stay away from CARMAX

Don't patronize CARMAX in Mechanicsburg, PA. Unprofessionalism caused us to lose the vehicle we requested held. No resolution. Poor customer service. Salesperson never returned call.

Glorified unscrupulous thieves.

Go here for higher interest rates. Unscrupulous carpetbaggers for extremely desperate people needing a car. They need to hey your stimulus check. Untrustworthy. They'll run your credit again and again destroying it. Fake five and four star ratings.

Great Customer Service and Program

Love the personality of the reps and they are always eager to help! They don't push you into buying more than your original budget and won't bother you about it! They also will let u browse the lot on you own, and all there cars are unlocked! I absolutely love there transfer program where they will transfer vehicles to your local stores without an obligation, and many transfers are free! Only complaint about Carmax is that I feel the cars are a bit overpriced, but it's worth it in the end for there customer service!
