Jim was an honest salesman. Showed us the vehicle we requested. Took for a test drive. Vehicle ran great engine seemed to be in great shape, however,... body was a little rough, ultimately didn't buy. Liked his approach, made us feel comfortable. Buying for my son who just learned to drive so want to work with some straight shooters and Lakeside could be just that. Hoping they get a couple more vehicles within our price range to take a look at.
I bought a 2007 Ford F-250 on October 11,2020. When I took it for a test drive, I told my salesman, Jim, that I wouldn't buy it without having a mechanic... look at it. He asked what the problem was and I told him it shook really badly. He stated they would fix that. I told him I didn't want to buy a piece of junk, and he said he didn't want to sell me one (LOL). It took them a month to get the truck to me. I took it for a fluid change 2 weeks later ,and the oil shop discovered oil in the coolant. I called my mechanic, and he said it was likely the head gasket, and that I should call the dealer and let them know what was going on. I did, they picked the truck up. After about three weeks, they confirmed that the head was bad. They sent it out to be fixed, and split the 6K bill with me. Then, I was told the alternator was bad, another 400 to fix, now they say the turbo charger is bad. At this point, I am out 16K for the truck and about 3400 in additional repairs. It is now January 13, and I still have no vehicle. The service manager confirmed that they had not inspected the vehicle prior to sale. They have deleted my negative review on their webpage. I bought here based on all the positive reviews, but I guess I know now what happened to the negative ones. Please, don't buy anything here unless you have it inspected first. They do not sell quality vehicles as they claim to. They haven't really stood behind this truck. I wish I had taken it to a mechanic first, I would have saved myself a lot of money and heartache. It was also pointed out to me that I didn't buy a warranty, but at the price tag of 16K, I didn't think I was buying a mechanics special.
We’ve purchased three vehicles in 1 years time from Lakeside Automotive Group using Jim for every transaction and we couldn’t have asked for better service.
I have bought two trucks from this business, the first was a Ford F150, I had nothing but problems with this truck...in fact, I had to have it towed 6... within a two year period! The warranty company wouldn't pay for anything. Tensioner pulley and arm failed...had to sleep in the truck until the repair shop opened, transmission dip stick rusted out, transmission hard lines rusted out, rear end started growling severely, and finally the transmission failed after I paid for all transmission line and dip stick tube replacement. The warranty company only paid for a rebuilt, used transmission and nothing else!!! The transmission failed so I decided to give Lakeside a second chance...I traded in my 2007 Ford for a 2013 Dodge Ram (love the truck) but yet again the transmission failed. I did not buy the warranty this time because it didn't do me much good with the Ford, now I'm stuck with a $4,000 repair bill on a truck I just bought this summer. I believe Lakeside Automotive is simply a buy and sell dealership, they have a team of mechanics but they do not do due diligence before selling a vehicle, they simply do not care what they sell you or how poorly their warranty company performs. Rust should be an obvious problem, growling from the rear end should be an obvious problem, transmissions failing in two different vehicles is a serious problem!!!! BUYER BEWARE
Went to the dealership after seeing a ad for a really good deal on a used dodge ram truck. It was actually a great deal so I went to buy the truck. I... was told that it was not available as an employee was wanted to" try and buy the truck." The salesman said he would take my info if I wanted and he would call if the employee could not buy it. Makes me wonder how often they advertise a really great deal on a vehicle just to get you in there and tell you an excuse like that. If it was true then they should have waited to list the truck online.
if I could give a negative rating I would. My 19 year old daughter saved 9000.00 for a nice used car. In less than two weeks the vehicle died twice as... she was pulling into traffic, it just stopped. We called our sales guy Justin and we brought it into their shop. It took a week for Ryan the manager of the shop to look at it and then he said he had no idea what was wrong with it and it didn't happen to him. The warranty they gave us was a nothing warranty. The loaner car they gave her the brakes were bad and shook when she drove it over 50mph. We had the car picked up and taken to another place down the road, the front and rear catalytic converter needed to be replaced.. they discovered this within 1 hour and Ryan couldn't figure anything out. The bill to fix this was $1970.00. When we told them dropping off the loaner they didn't care about either issue. I called the manager of the place twice and left two voicemails and he never called back. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE, THEY ARE A SCAM AND WILL SELL YOU A TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP AND NOT BLINK AN EYE!!!!
Todd was great! He made the purchase of my Ford F-150 so easy. From the first phone call to the delivery to my home I could not have expected any better... service from Todd to the two delivery guys! Thanks!!!
I bought a truck from this place. The salesman said all the right things (which should have been the first clue). Days later I take the truck to a trusted... mechanic for an inspection (dumb on my part to do it after the purchase) and he finds it's full of Stop-Leak. The salesman at Lakeside says my mechanic doesn't know what he's talking about. So I trade it back to them and buy a different one, getting an inspection this time. It came with a 45 day warranty. About 20 days after the warranty expires the timing went out. The dealership says there's nothing they can do. DON'T BUY HERE
Bought a 2009 white Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab about a month ago and have had to put $800 into it just to make it DRIVE-ABLE! Transmission pan had a dent... that sealed poorly and leaked all over my driveway, power window master switch was bad, has a water leak through the top center windshield, drivers seat won't recline, A/C is now totally dead. The list really goes on. We have called and left 5 messages and NOT A SINGLE CALL BACK.
Todd made the process of buying my truck so easy! They have a great selection of vehicles for reasonable prices. Todd knows his stuff and the customer... service I received was amazing!
