I followed up on an auto I was interested in from Cars.com and found myself at this very unique auto dealer In Kearny Mesa, Bayside Auto. They have a strong niche of customers they serve and high standards for the autos they take for resale. Most often the autos they have, come from their own previous customers and likely they have been involved in servicing these cars as well. They have a strong commitment to customer care that I happily experienced from them. I met Hiro who helped me with the auto I wanted. He was very polite, engaging and certainly responsive to my questions and needs. a-I also met the owner who candidly discussed the pros and cons of buying an older car for me which was very helpful! If one of their cars comes up as you are looking for a late model used car, I would strongly suggest you deal with them. You will get honesty, Integrity and a car that has been checked out and you can trust! Ir doesn't get any better than this! Bayside Auto is the Best!
Hiro and Yoshi are awesome. I have my cars repaired and came back, running new! They give good advise and honest in dealing with customers. I am looking for a used car now and Hiro is helping me. Thank you very much!

Bayside was recommended by Wolfe's, both companies in the Kearney Mesa area, to help my friend find a replacement for a car that was damaged by someone who ran into her car. They were not only honest, caring, and cooperative about finding her a replacement car similar to her old one, but also helped her get through all the paperwork necessary in these circumstances. They made sure she was comfortable driving the very clean, well repaired, replacement as well. I will be recommending their services to MY friends as well after watching their great work with my friend, Monique, who says she will highly recommend them.

Best Dealership Ever!!!
This is the best dealership ever, period. I was searching for a car for a long time - have never bought cars in the US before. So finally got two 2004 Lexus ES330 to check out. One was in LA and another In San Diego - Bayside Auto. My plan was to see both in one day. Oh yeah, and I live in Oakland. So I took a bus to LA, met a dealer over there, went to a local mechanic - all the way was listening to the dealer singing about how great is the car and himself. The mechanic lifted up the car and it was leaking - $1000 to fix. Took a train to San Diego after that. Called Hiro - Bayside Auto representative and he told me that even though they are closing, he is going to wait for me to show the car. By the way, I was emailing Bayside Auto, before my trip several times with all sort of questions and Hiro always responded nicely with detailed info about the car - pictures, Carfax, Service records, etc. When I saw the car I was amazed how good it was. I could not believe I am getting it. And the fact that people at Bayside Auto took care of that car for many years just blew my mind. I trusted every word they said and never regret it. The next day they prepared the car for me, I bought it and drove from San Diego to Mount Shasta... about 12 hours. That was in June 2020. I am writing this in March 2021. When I bought the car it was 148.000 on the odometer. I have 160.000 now and it drives like a charm - I enjoy every moment when I am in it. Thank you Hiro! Thanks to all the team at Bayside Auto! You guys are great! Every time someone is asking me about cars, I am sending them Bayside Auto contacts. Next time I would need a car - Bayside Auto would be the first place to call.

2006 Toyota Sienna
My wife and I were in an accident and the insurance company decided to total our van. They sent us a check and we got another van. We saw one on the cars.com website and we called the place that was selling it. The name of the place is Bayside Auto. We purchased a 2006 Toyota Sienna LE from them. They had a lot of five star reviews and all the comments were positive. When the day came to purchase the vehicle we drove it off the lot and about half way home noticed a clicking sound when we turned. We didn't know what it was and took it to a mechanic two days later. The mechanic test drove it and said the front right axle was bent. We borrowed money to get it fixed. When the mechanic took the tires off he noticed both front wheel bearings needed to be replaced. We were told not to drive it too far until we got them fixed. Bayside claimed they serviced the vehicle for years before they sold it. One would think of that were the case they would fix problems and make it roadworthy before selling it. Don't be fooled by five star ratings. Hiro, the man we bought the van from kept asking us to bring it to them so they could look at it. The only problem is that we live about 80 miles away and don't want to stress the wheel bearings. I would be leary of Bayside and not trust all of their five star reviews.

As mentioned before, the last owner never missed an oil change and was meticulous about maintenance. When you took it for a test drive, you didn't notice it and nor did we. We did not try to hide the issue, and strived to be as transparent as possible. However at times, with older cars with many miles, there may be unexpected issues. Easy and Helpful Experience
Hiro was very kind and helpful throughout the shopping and buying experience! I bought a used 2010 VW Beetle. On the test drive, we were able to go on the freeway and around the area as requested. Hiro answered any questions I had honestly, helpfully, and realistically. There was no pressure to buy and he supplied me with a copy of the CarFax. I ended up coming back to buy the car and the process was very smooth and easy. Hiro always responded quickly to emails and was very professional. The dealership also does maintenance, and offers a discount on maintenance and free basic services to customers. I am excited to utilize their maintenance services in the future.
