Not a bit of negativity here!

I have nothing but good things to say about the fellas at 5280 Motorsports. I went there in search of a used SUV and left with more than what I had expected. Ryan was patient with me and gave me plenty of time to decide on what I wanted and allowed me to test drive multiple vehicles, after I figured out what I wanted he worked with me to get where I wanted with my overall monthly payment. I was more than stoked with my experience and would recommend 5280 Motorsports to anyone that is looking for a new vehicle

Jeep Liberty Jet

We just purchased a Jeep Liberty Limited Jet and we love it! We were only able to find a few that we would consider buying and that is when we discovered 5280 Motor Company! I called to inquire on the Jeep late afternoon on a Friday and spoke with Rick the owner. I asked what their business hours were and realized that I could not get to Longmont in time. He offered to meet us there when we could make it and only asked that we give him a call when we were about half way there. We arrived nearly two hours after their normal closing time and test drove the Jeep. We loved the car and the whole buying process at 5280 Motor Company! They have an eye for cars! all of them looked immaculate! There was no pressure to buy, no haggling on the price, and no Dealer handling fees! The deal was written up before I could even get a copy of my insurance card faxed to the Dealership! It was the best experience we've had buying a car from a dealer and we highly recommend them! These guys are GREAT!!

Best ever!

In December 2017, I was rear-ended in traffic, completely smashing my 2007 Tuscon. I loved that car. When it came time to replace it, I wanted the same car, with the same features, and nothing less. I started working with a broker to help me find the car I wanted. But after delays, lack of follow up, I thought I would have to settle on something else. Then I stumbled upon a listing from 5280 Motor Co. on Cars.com. I filled out the inquiry on the site and within minutes I received an email from Ryan Carey. He was down-to-earth, and full of information. It was such a relief. I made an appointment to see the car the next day. It was priced well within market, and actually in better shape than other Tuscons in the same price range. I test drove it and fell in love. The car was clean, in great condition and had low miles. I also loved that the dealer fees were already in the price so I knew exactly what I would pay for the car (plus tax). Ryan didn't pressure me or upsell me into anything I didn't want or need. He worked with me as I finalized my financing with my own bank, and when I went to purchase the car 15 minutes before closing time, Ryan had everything ready to go, the plates loaded on the car so all I had to do was sign and drive away. It was the best, and easiest car buying experience I have ever had. I LOVE my new car. I got everything I wanted and stayed within budget and I didn't have to negotiate on a price. When it comes time to buy my next car, I will go to 5280 Motor Co. again, and will recommend to anyone that you check them out. Thanks Ryan!

BUYER BEWARE WITH 5280 Motor Company Longmont!!!

Back in May I bought a used 2010 Honda CRV from 5280 Motor Company Longmont. After I signed the agreement to purchase, I downloaded the CarFax report and found out that the vehicle had previously been in a collision. When I bought this to the attention of Ryan, my salesperson, he said, “Oh, did I forget to give you the CarFax report?” I saw in the report that the vehicle had been certified by a Honda dealership after the collision. I assumed that all would be well and proceeded with the purchase (my mistake). Subsequently, I noted that the rear bumper panels were popping out. I took the vehicle to Hoshi Motors, and they confirmed that there was collision damage that was not repaired correctly. I took the vehicle in to Fisher Honda body shop, and their collision center manager confirmed that this was the case, and the repairs would cost from $600 to $800. I reached out to Ryan to ask them to help me pay for the repairs. He refused. Drive 5280 did not violate any laws, but I do think that they were walking a narrow line between being ethical, and non-ethical: you be the judge. The bottom line is if you purchase a used vehicle from 5280 Motor Company Longmont: BUYER BEWARE!!! Make sure you get the CarFax and read them over carefully. Have your mechanic, or a good certified mechanic check the vehicle over, and take your time. The folks are the classical USED CAR SALESMEN, not your good buddies. I, personally, would not go back to them to purchase another vehicle.

We would like to say we try to make every vehicle 100% mechanically back to working order. We include a 3mo/3000 mile warranty and a 3rd party mechanic inspection to try and make it so(although not perfect). A bumper on any 8 year old vehicle has probably been painted on more often than not. Conversely we believe this(bumper) to be something that is in plain sight. We did fix a few aesthetic for you before you took delivery, according to our paperwork(armrest, dome light and a shift lock cover). 5280 Motor Company has been a CarFax advantage member since July of 2016 and we make CarFax reports available to anyone considering one of our vehicles for free online when the cars are for sale. At the time of delivery a CarFax report was provided before signing the purchase order, as well as a Colorado State Disclosure Form disclosing that there was an accident on this vehicle and that paint work was done on the rear bumper of the vehicle; all of this was signed in acknowledgement before going home with your vehicle. We are sorry but this was 8 months ago and a lot of things could have happened. We do wish that you would have brought this up earlier so we could have nipped it in the bud. But 8 months is a long time! We appreciate your business and feedback, but we have to respectfully say we do not feel obligated to fix the bumper. PS. 5280 Motor Company believes in a professional experience. We are Professional, Upfront(Pricing,Carfax) and direct(we tell you what we’ve done to the car in our ads). Also anybody is welcome to test drive, show the vehicle to mechanic or go show it to friends and family, before they purchase!

Consumer response

These folks never told me about the 3 month/300 mile warranty. They also did not mention the fact that this vehicle had been in an accident, and they knew it and never mentioned it. They also did not give me the CarFax report. They said it was online, but how was I to know that. The last used car I bought was in 2003. When we tried to work this out, they managed to accuse me of being a liar, and they also started swearing at me on the phone. They used the term "a cash grab", I am assuming that this is a term that they use when they make a sale and get the best of a consumer. The only "cash grab" was when they took my check. I own my lack of due diligence which probably cost me around $3,000, but that was not what I asked them to cover (I had been in a bad accident and they knew it and took advantage of the situation), but there are several things that they should have explicitly made me aware of. I honestly felt taken advantage of. As I said, BUYER BEWARE. Do your due diligence. These folks are NOT you friends. They will take advantage of you if they can.

HORRIBLE!!!

DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!!!! I was initially happy with the car buying process I thought they were pretty nice guys. BUT the nightmare started after owning this car for less than a week. After only owning this car for 3 DAYS I had all kinds of lights coming on including the check engine light and it wouldn't pass emissions. I took it to them to fix it and asked them to look at a noise it was making and when I went to come get it Rick was super sketchy and all the sudden Ryan wasn't available in person or through the phone and Rick had no idea what was going on with my car so after calling back multiple times to get an answer I just gave up. NOW I have a car that needs new differentials and a new transfer case. They didn't tell me this car the THE WORST after market alarm system on the car, which locks up the engine when you're messing with pretty much anything under the hood so I had to pay someone to remove that. They knew this car was a lemon and still tried to sell it to me and didn't try to make it right, these people SUCK! Definition of xxxxty car salesmen.

Excellent experience

Ric and Ryan have gone way out their way to help us. They were both professional and easy to talk to. They even stayed late when I couldn't get out of work to finalize paperwork. The car we bought was super clean, runs great and mechanically sound. Low pressure dealership and everything was smooth. I would definitely recommend this dealership.

Great First Car Buying Experience

We were looking for the most cost effective car possible, and found that the low mileage on the car we ended up buying and the competitive pricing met our interests. Ryan was professional, friendly, and helpful in buying our first car. 5280 Motor Company seems to sell only quality cars that get inspected by a third-party. Many thanks for the wonderful help!

Highly Recommend!

I am VERY happy with my experience at 5280 Motor Company! Ryan and Ric were fantastic to work with. They were patient, knowledgeable and supportive. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were receiving a mechanically sound vehicle and I look forward to enjoying our 2007 Toyota 4Runner for years to come.
