6 Month Post Vehicle Purchase Review - STAY AWAY!!! I purchased a 2018 Ford Explorer XLT from Apex Car and Truck Sales on November 19, 2024. Within three (3) weeks of purchase, I noticed that the coolant reservoir was completely empty. My husband refilled it, only to have it quickly deplete again. This indicated a potential coolant leak, which was later confirmed at a certified Ford dealership after we began experiencing persistent engine issues two (2) months after buying the vehicle (Engine running hot, issues starting the car). I purchased an extended warranty but even with the warranty, the repair estimate from Ford was over $2,500 out-of-pocket. Based on the timeline of events, I strongly believe this issue existed prior to my purchase and was not disclosed to me at the time of sale. A water pump leak of this magnitude does not develop suddenly. It’s a gradual failure that would have absolutely shown signs before the sale. Under North Carolina law, dealerships are required to disclose defects that could affect a vehicle’s safety, value, or performance. Given that a leaking water pump can lead to severe engine damage, I find it highly unlikely that this problem developed solely after my purchase. Despite reaching out and explaining the situation, Apex Car and Truck Sales only offered $1,000, which did not come close to covering the repair or reflecting fair accountability for the stress and financial burden put on our family. To make matters worse, we just had to replace the fuel pump, another $1000+ repair. I have NEVER had such an awful experience purchasing a vehicle. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Learn from my mistake and steer totally clear from Apex Car and Truck Sales.

We saw the car online while searching for a Cadillac SRX
We saw the car online while searching for a Cadillac SRX for my daughter. We had looked at several cars and just couldn't reach a deal. We talked to Michael on the phone and told him we were going to drive almost 3 hours to see the car. Michael put a HOLD sign on the car. We arrived and the price on the windshield next to the HOLD sign was $500 less than the price on line. A very good way to start the day. We drove the car and everything worked like the car was new. We told Michael we would take the car and everything was easy and fast. Every car dealer should be this way. The only add to the price was $1 for a drive away tag. No documentation fee! I highly recommend Apex Car Sales. I have bought about 25 to 30 cars for myself and family over the years (74) and this was truly the easiest except buying a 59 Met from my Grandmother for a shiny penny! These guys should offer classes for other car dealerships. Simply the best!

I am not one to leave reviews, but I am in no way pleased
I am not one to leave reviews, but I am in no way pleased with the vehicle we purchased from this lot. My boyfriend purchased a Lincoln MKZ Hybrid here this week. He flew (one-way) from MI to pick it up. He was told prior to his departure that the car had no damage other than a rear sensor that was pushed in. Based on their WORD and the many positive and exemplary reviews, we took a chance to purchase sight unseen. He brought the car home and to my absolute horror the car is laden with scratches (inside and out), there are literally gouges in the seats and on the touchscreen and steering wheel from a dog, giant scratches along the passenger skirting ($$$ to replace), and the STRONG smell of cigarette smoke, including damage to the fabric lining on the A pillars which will require replacement. He doesn't have the fine eye that I do, but all of these "imperfections" were on the vehicle before we acquired it. Beyond that, the tires are basically garbage and the climate-controlled seats are entirely inoperable. NONE of this was disclosed. It seems their claims of ZERO disappointments, and refurbishing and servicing all vehicles, is just lip service. The folks are nice enough on the surface, but not honest. We waited a long while to find the perfect car, but sadly, we were given a false impression of the vehicle and Doug felt he had little sensible option as he was 700 miles from home. I feel we overpaid, but now we're stuck with it. Lesson learned. Buyer beware!
