I recently purchased a 2023 F-150 Limited PowerBoost from Kendall Ford. The experience had its moments?some good, some not-so-good. On our first visit, our salesperson Josh didn?t seem especially engaged. The test drive was just a quick loop around the block?not nearly enough to evaluate the truck. It felt rushed and unhelpful, and we left without moving forward. When we returned later, Asante let us take the truck out for a real test drive, which gave us the opportunity to actually see what it was all about. That was a much better experience and helped restore some confidence in the process. The deal itself took about a week and a half to finalize. Part of that was due to a family emergency on our end, and the rest was working through loan adjustments with Credit Union 1, plus trying to improve the trade-in deal. We worked with Steve, Kendall?s KBB rep, who was friendly, straightforward, and helped us feel like the trade-in side of the deal was being handled fairly. A few parts of the experience felt off, though. The sales manager acted like holding the truck for a weekend was a big favor?even though it had been sitting on the lot for a long time. Then when we came back to talk numbers, the truck was already parked out front with a SOLD sign on it and had been removed from the website?before we even finalized the deal. It felt more like a tactic than a customer service move. The truck was clean outside, but not clean inside?the cup holders were dirty, the back seat was dusty, and it showed signs of being well-driven. For a Limited trim truck with this kind of price tag, the lack of a proper interior detail stood out. In the end, I got the truck I wanted?but not because the dealership wowed me. It was a lot of self-navigation, follow-ups, and patience on our side. Asante and Steve both stood out as helpful, and I?m glad they were part of the process. Everyone else? Room to improve. This resulted in a higher final price than what had been agreed upon, which felt misleading and left me questioning the dealership’s integrity. Lack of Basic Post-Sale Support: I purchased a used vehicle “as-is” and completed a test drive without any noticeable issues. However, on the drive home, the car began making a loud, concerning squealing noise (later discovered to be a small pebble lodged near the brakes). I immediately called to see if the dealership would at least take a quick look, given that I had just driven off their lot. Instead, I was flatly told they wouldn’t even inspect it because it was sold “as-is.” I fully understand what “as-is” means, but I also believe good customer service doesn't end the moment the papers are signed. Had they shown even a small willingness to check the issue, my review would be very different. Instead, their unwillingness to engage left me feeling dismissed and frustrated.
