I want to make you aware of an experience that I had at Olathe Hyundai in Olathe Kansas, I went in to look t a 2016 Hyundai Azera. Micha Wiedner was my... sales associate. I took the car for a test drive and was ready to take the next steps in the process of buying the car. I asked that my trade in be appraised as part of the process. My sales representative and a manager went out to look at my truck and then came back in and started working on the appraisal and the buyers order. In my sales rep's office, I was told that the value on my truck was $7,000 but that the dealership would give me $9,000 based on all of the work that had been done on my truck. As we were going through the buyer's order, I asked my sales representative if the aftermarket items were optional. He said absolutely. I also asked my sales representative about several option that my trade has that were not listed on the appraisal. The sales representative assured me that the options were covered in packages that my truck had. I was specifically asking about the moonroom and 500 watt Infiniti stereo that my truck has. Again, I was told these options were listed in the packages on the appraisal. I googled the packages that my truck has and the moonroof was not part of a package, it was an option. I am curious as to why my sales representative would attempt to misrepresent the appraisal on my trade in When I got home, I looked at the buyers order and found that the aftermarkets that my sales representative and I spoke about in the amount of $1,798.00 were listed as a financed item. Having experience in buying dealer paper from Chrysler when I worked for Chrysler Capital, I am very aware of automobile dealers using the "four square" to manipulate numbers and try to force customers in to a deal. I believe by my sales representative saying that I was getting $2,000 more for my trade and then adding approximately $2,000 to the financing is a variation of the "four square" theme. When I called McCarthy Auto Group and asked for an owner or a General Manager, the operator told me that she did not know who was here that day. She told me that she was only 5 days in to her job and had not yet learned all of the people. She attempted to transfer me three times to specific people but the calls ended up in someone else's voicemail. I told the operator that I wanted to speak to a member of management or owner outside of the Hyundai portion of the brand. At this point, I was transferred to a manager at the Hyundai store. I explained my issue with my experience and pointed out the errors and misrepresentation surrounding the buyers order and was told that it was a mistake that could be fixed. When I asked why the sales representative knowingly misrepresented terms and conditions of the deal and details surrounding the appraisal of my trade in, I was not given an answer. To be fair, in 2015 I bought an Azera from this dealership and that was a pleasant and professional experience. That is why I went back to the dealership. I assumed that I would receive the same degree of honesty, integrity, and professionalism that I did when I bought the first Azera. Needless to say, today's experience was the exact opposite of my first visit. I would have bought the car this morning if not for the blatantly falsehoods and deceptive practices that I experienced during my visit to Olathe Hyundai this morning.
