I was interested in trading in my vehicle (which I loved) for something with more current safety features. I drive ~100 miles/day for work, in traffic,... so I need something safe, reliable, and comfortable. I’m now in a position where I am able to afford the next level up vehicle, so researched and test drove the GMC Acadia, VW Cross Sport, BMW X3, and Volvo XC40 and XC60, as well as looked at Audi and Mercedes. My experience at Exeter Volvo was by far the best of the bunch, which is saying a lot because I’ve bought my last 3 cars from the same salesman at GMC, who gave me his family discount last time. VW was so disinterested in selling me the car. BMW was super hard core pushy. My husband and I stopped by the dealership on a Sunday, thinking the dealership was closed. To our surprise, they weren’t. We worked with Mike Hart, who has extensive experience with Volvo. After discussing what I was interested in, we test drove the XC40 and then the XC60 Inscription T6. My trade-in had ventilated seats and we test drove on a 95F day, which made me realize ventilated seats are now a must feature for me. Mike spoke with Adam about stock availability and they had one demo available with the seats I was looking for. We returned 2 days later to test drive the XC60 Inscription T5 and I was instantly impressed. (Massage seats! Driver AND passenger?!?! ) My husband has been a mechanic for 35 years and worked on race cars. In 21 years I have never heard him say “I love this car” until this test drive. When we got back to the dealership, I signed the paperwork and scheduled the sale for Saturday. The entire process was friendly, informative, and supportive. I felt like Mike and Adam truly wanted to find me the car I wanted and didn’t try to sell me anything else. I also feel like I got a fair deal and was treated respectfully during negotiation. Adam even saved me an extra $1K because of the company I work for. They had an opportunity between test drives (Sunday and Tuesday) to sell to another customer and gave me first dibs. That spoke volumes to me. The car was a demo with 500 miles. Not driven much, but did have some interior scratches and blemishes. They put the effort in to make the car brand new again, to my complete satisfaction. I was really impressed with their commitment to making sure I was a happy customer. The finance experience was great. I probably could have gotten myself a lower interest rate through my credit union, but it’s was good enough and easier to go through Volvo. Leo was fantastic, straight-forward, and trustworthy. I did end up purchasing both an extended and tire warranty, and I feel good about that decision. Yesterday was my first commute to work in the new car. I am in love with this car! It’s amazing, has everything I was looking for and more. I’m exceptionally happy with my purchase and the overall experience. I plan to bring my car for service to Exeter and foresee myself being a repeat customer.
Bought a year old 2019 S60 T6 Inscription last week from Ollie. Very rare combo of options. Had been looking for months for just the right car...incl... BMW, Audi, MB, also. From my first email to Rich the Sales Mgr, thru all follow up communications and visits with Ollie, Don the Used Car Mgr, Dan the owner, and Pierre in Service everything went perfectly. Pricing was excellent (2 other nearby dealers weren't close on lesser cars), everyone was very professional and friendly, and of course observed all COVID protocols to a "T". The other 2 dealers are much closer to where we live...I still highly recommend making the trip to Exeter. GREAT EXPERIENCE! BTW...I sold cars for several years. I know what I'm talking about.
I was unable to respond to my original post, but after driving this defective car for 2 years, being rudely treated by the staff, and their inability to... fix it, I moved. My new local Volvo dealership diagnosed the problem in an hour, had the replacement part overnighted. There was a temperature sensor in the hvac system reading 20 degrees higher than it should have. Checking the sensors for an hvac problem seems like the first step you’d want to try. Volvo Cars of Exeter failed at both customer service and basic trouble shooting.
I bought a brand new XC 90 T6 with defective AC. Volvo Cars of Exeter were rude and disrespectful to me as I tried getting them to fix it. The issue has... never been resolved.
Mr. Keller. I just wanted to reiterate that the entire service department along with Volvo corporate and myself did try to address the issue with your... air-conditioning. I even drove your vehicle myself and found it to function as designed. I am sorry it is not up to your expectations. I also understand that you drive around with two magnets on your car that says we will not fix your car and it's a lemon.America is the land of free speech and I appreciate your ability to do so But driving it here to the dealership for service with those magnets on is a little childish. We did ask you to remove them while we worked on your car for you (if that is what you meant by disrespectful) and then you were free to put them back on, as you did, before you left the driveway. I my experience most dealerships would have asked you to leave and not serviced your vehicle at all. We didn't even say anything while you sat in our waiting room and wrote this one star review. I am sorry you felt the need to leave a one star review. Dan Enxing Owner Volvo Cars Exeter
I have purchased three vehicles from this dealer . Never had a problem getting an appointment for service, (usually net day or even same day) Vehicle... always come back vacuumed and washed. New, very clean and friendly waiting area.
Real-life scale, very professional, experienced.. Just the way a Volvo dealership SHOULD be. From the owner, his son, salespeople, even finance manager..... Worth the drive from Boston, for a pleasant car purchase/lease experience.
From my initial phone call wherein I was interested in a pre-owned vehicle in their inventory, to everything and anything I was concerned about was handled... professionally and with care. Ron, Chris, Phone Reception and the Service Department worked hand in hand satisfying my needs. I couldn't be happier with the purchase of my vehicle, Thank you ...
I dealt mostly with Michael Coogin and Michael Cormier. They were great, and so focused on my car buying experience. They were very impressive to work... with and their attention to detail convinced me that this was the dealer I should work with. I had evaluated 10 different dealerships in the Seacoast area and felt that this team meant what they said. The Volvo of course had a lot to do with my decision to buy a car there, but these two professionals were so friendly and ready to address any concern and answer any question I had. They were great to work with.
Simply the best, friendly, professional, knowledgeable, my local dealer in Haverhill, will not service my Volvo, and it's so worth the drive to... Exeter Volvo to avoid them, look no further, this dealer in number one , a pleasure to deal with !!!
Don and Nigel were great. They both went out of their way to make the sale work for me. I love my new Volvo! Highly recommended.
