I bought a car from here several years ago and everything went smooth. Got a decent deal on the vehicle and negotiated on the phone and through text prior to coming into dealership to no waste time. Fast forward to today, dealt with Spencer and Quienten. My experience was not so pleasant. Seems they have changed to the price is non negotiable from the sticker now. This philosophy doesn't work for dealerships and has been proven. People know they can negotiate and especially when the price of the vehicle is high retail and the same if not higher than prices from competitors who do negotiate. So I am told this and said I will pass yet continue to get emails and text message from both of these salespeople. Why contact me if I have already said I will not pay your ridiculous price? I am sorry you are struggling to sell cars not my problem. Go work for a dealership that actually wants to sell the customer a car and will work with them on price.

Easy in/out. No haggle. David McKinney was super nice and personable. I bought it sight unseen.. The car arrived on time and I love it.

I appreciate their service very much. All the employees that I talked to were nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this dealership to my family and friends.

We were in a pinch and needed a vehicle fast. My wife and I both work and one of our vehicles needed more repairs than we were willing to put into an old vehicle. I looked at inventory for all the Mazda dealers in Oklahoma and Nelson of Norman had the best price. I spoke with David McKinney on the phone about incentives and from that point on he was the only person we dealt with. They gave us a very fair price for our trade that needed extensive repairs, there was zero pressure for additional services and they stayed well after closing time to finish the deal. I’m 49 years old and I can honestly say this was the best car buying experience I’ve had. Mr. McKinney was especially great he showed us exactly what we asked to see, answered all of questions and he didn’t try to over sell.

I reviewed this dealership earlier as “Learned My Lesson from Lawton, OK” under the headline “Typical Used Car Dealer”. After the review was posted we were contacted by the Nelson Sells supervisor who apologized for our experience and said we were correct that we had made a deal and they hadn’t followed through. He offered to make it right. He said he would send a representative with a check for the agreed amount to wherever we wanted to meet. And he did. Daegan met us at our credit union and completed the deal.

We were contacted by David (refused to give his last name)in the Tulsa office via phone about our willingness to sell our Suburban. Through several texts and phone conversations, we sent pictures and provided detailed information about it. David agreed on a price and set up a time for us to meet Daegan at Nelson Mazda in Norman to sell it. Daegan was very polite and friendly while he was inspecting and driving the Suburban. He told us that it was in great shape, that it drove and rode really good. His only comment was that the tread on the tires was good, but there was a slight wear on the inside front tires. Although there was plenty of tread he said they would have to replace the tires and that would take $1500 off the original offer. David knew exactly how many miles were on the tires before we made the deal and Daegan said there was plenty of tread. We felt they got us up there under false pretenses then tried to lowball us. We spent half a day of our time, drove 2 cars for a total round trip of 276 miles, and $20 on tolls when we had been specific on what we would sell for before we left. I can’t comment on Nelson Mazda’s new car sales team, but we feel like the used car team treated us exactly like the caricature used car dealer. To be absolutely honest, Daegan offered to give us some gas and a cold drink for our trouble, but we were through with them by then. We did call David back in Tulsa and he said he should have accounted for that when he agreed on the price. Sure.

Was a good experience. Pricing on inventory was reasonable compared to any other dealerships in the area. Gave me more for trade in then I was expecting. No pressure from sales staff.

Nelson is a great place to buy your Mazda or used car from. They are fair, they don't mark up from MSRP and are friendly. The service department is great and always willing to answer questions. This is where I go for all of my needs.

I’ve never been so impressed with a dealership as I was today at Nelson. Friendly staff, timely service, and even a video of the tech reviewing my car? Are you kidding me? I had video documentation and the checklist on my phone while waiting in the lobby! Amazing. Plus the lobby was very nice and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
