Blake was so helpful in getting us our new Honda Odyssey.

Blake was so helpful in getting us our new Honda Odyssey. Not only was he very responsive and timely answering any of our questions or concerns, but he went above and beyond to make sure it was a deal that worked for us. If you’re in the market for a car, I would definitely work with Blake!

They sold me a truck that wasn’t to be sold, per one of

They sold me a truck that wasn’t to be sold, per one of the managers.. Engine light came on by the time I got home with it. Took it back all they did was reset it, it came back on. Loan company had me take it to a certified mechanic for a diagnostic test reading and after he was done he said the truck should not be driven .it is all dry rot underneath, the tires are as well, there is a oil leak .radiator leak, The lone company told me to take the truck back and the dealership can cancel out the loan so that’s what I went to do however the big guy said I don’t care what the loan company said I got the money and I’m not giving it back..I said then what am I supposed to do ? Should I get a lawyer or what I don’t know.So the big guy jumped up and said that’s it ,I’m not talking to you anymore,You said the L word, I said no I ask you if I need to get one. He walked away so I got on the phone with the lone company and he comes back and demands me to go and get off the property right now.. So of course I did he made me feel scared , I’m 61 and don’t ever want to feel like that again.

I was chasing the newly released 2026 Honda Passport at

I was chasing the newly released 2026 Honda Passport at my 3 local friendly Honda dealerships. However, due to a limited amount of Passport recently released to dealerships, I was not able to find my trim and color option locally. I was happy to finally locate my trim and color option at Lake City Honda. Unfortunately, I had to drive 1.50 hour to unknown territory. I received a positive experience with my salesman, Blake. He was awesome and I would rate him 5 stars of of 5. However, the purchase experience went south as I was handed off to different staff member, for the remaining of the negotiation. Here is my experience. I am satisfied that I repurchased my vehicle and negotiated my deal with a little wiggle room for dealership negotiation of misleading fees, but this came with headaches in the negotiation table. This dealerships have a few excessive fees in combination with misleading fees that I am going to point out. I feel that by leaving this review it may help someone else in combating their ridiculous fees. You have the price of the vehicle and your destinations & delivery charges. In addition to your FL sale tax , DMVs tags & title charges and Doc fees. These are the 5 legitimate fees. You may have additional cost to pay if you are selecting a vehicle with dealer installed add-on options and any items or additional coverage you selected in their Menu. If you were able to knock off a few dollars from MSRP on a new vehicle, good for you. However, sale tax and delivery & destination charges and DMV fees, as we all know, are not negotiable. The first problem I found with Honda of Lake City is their overpriced Doc fees. The state of Florida does not cap dealer Doc fees. That’s why the state of Florida is one of the highest in the nation. Giving FL dealerships a green light to xxxx you as much as they can in Doc fees. In FL average Doc fees are in the range of $800-$999. This dealership feels that they should be charging $ 1298 which is the highest I have seen any Honda dealership charge, usually it is around $ 999. In comparison to other states, my home state of New York charges an approximately average of $175, New Jersey around $ 250 and bordering state of Georgia an average $ 600. The second excessive and misleading fees were the DMV (title and registration fees). These fee are set by DMV, not by Lake City Honda. It should be somewhere around $ 400 on average. It does not matter if the documents are filed hand written, typed, electronically, the fees are all the same. Fees are the same regardless how you file them, period!! Lake City Honda wants to charge approximately $ 1200 for your DMV fees to cover your “actual” DMV fees and profit the rest. They will mislead you by telling you that the amount is to cover your actual DMV fees, then somewhere around d $ 590 to “E-File” your DMV paperwork and an additional $ 190 for an “outside agency” to file your DMV paperwork. They do this solely to make additional profit on the sale and is completely unethical. There is only one DMV fee to pay and that is set by DMV only and collected through your dealership. The rest is their way to hit you over the head with verbal Judo to justify their reason to make additional profit anywhere they can from you. Real dealership charged DMV fees are common knowledge and I even have my last two vehicle purchases (last being 2024) and two motorcycle purchases bill of sales ( last being 2025) where these additional false and excessive DMV charges were not included. I understand dealership needs to make a profits wherever they can, just as a consumer will try to save a dollar here and there. Can’t take this personally. That’s why negotiation is available. Am I happy with my new vehicle? Absolutely !! Will I ever recommend or shop with Honda of Lake City again ? Absolutely, not !! Next time there is a shortage, I’ will wait and shop with my local trustworthy dealership once vehicle becomes available.
