Premium paid for car.
Premium paid for car. Purchase was agreed to on Holiday weekend and after hours. Bank was closed. $6k down payment. I then coordinated in network bank with AutoNation for remainder of loan. went back following week to drop off check and pick up car as agreed. AutoNation said that bank check (which was in their network, and they had all week to communicate with loan rep) would cause a 10-day delay in me being able to pick up the vehicle. I live approximately 50 miles away, so I had no intention to return 10 days later, so I asked the AutoNation rep to refund my deposit so that I could purchase a vehicle from somewhere else. Instead of refunding my deposit, they decide that the sale was more important. We were then asked to speak with the warranty department. We were offered an extended warranty for a cost of $3k+. We declined. Shortly after that, SURPRISE, since our financial institution is in network, they could offer that same extended warranty for about $2k. We declined that offer too. Once we were allowed to go to our newly purchased vehicle, were we informed that the vehicle only had 1 key fob instead of 2. We were also informed that AutoNation could have a replacement made for several hundred dollars more when this should have come with 2 key fobs. It was a last-minute way to make more money for the dealership. Then as we got into the car, we noticed that the car was not filled up. It only had 1/4 tank of gas. We were disappointed with our experience.
