"Sales, Service & Restoration of Vintage, Classic and Exotic Automobiles"
Here is what my experience with Tom Papadopoulos was like. He has (present tense) a black Ferrari 599 for sale. I inquired about purchasing it. He... went on and on about how everyone who contacts him is a jerk, wastes his time, etc. I simply listened to him and then tried to move on to discussing the car. When I raised the issue of getting a pre-purchase inspection performed, he got very evasive. Said he had no problem with it but his car was one of the finest specimens out there, and so forth. I told him I wouldn't purchase a house without an inspection nor would I purchase a pre-owned Ferrari without one. He resisted every step of the way. Then my power went out for 3 days during which I couldn't communicate with him. He said he understood and then tried to convince me again to forgo the pre-purchase inspection. As soon as I was in the process of confirming the day/time that would happen, he totally disappeared. When I inquired after a week, he called the whole thing a "sh*tshow", more or less threw a tantrum and claimed to have sold the car, which in fact remains unsold in his inventory and on all used car platforms. Obviously there is something wrong with the car, otherwise this could have been handled in a much different way on his part. Honestly, this guy seems like a liar and like a typical used car salesman. I was nothing but polite, professional and transparent with him. Btw, the PPI was going to cost me $1000 and he knew this so obviously I was (am) a serious buyer. Ultimately he will likely scam someone into buying this particular car without a PPI and I preeminently feel very badly for that person. I'd stay very far away from this guy. Read what others say about him in the Ferrari chat forums; frankly I should have my head checked for engaging him in the first place.
Hello LWM. Thank you for your review. As stated from the beginning of your original inquiry, Autosport Designs had absolutely no problem with you wa...nting a PPI on this Ferrari 599. We have been around for 30 years and have always been forthright with all of our clients and potential clients with exactly the vehicle and the condition of the vehicle they are inquiring on and purchasing. We have no interest in having a mediocre vehicle and our clients have trusted us over the years with providing them top level quality and service. I believe you were in discussions with a very reputable intermediary inspector (name redacted) for a proper PPI on this 599. As we were aware, this inspector sent you documents and an invoice in order to perform the PPI and never heard back from you. We understand that you may have been without power for a few days during this timetable. This inspector also notified us that you were trying to use him to PPI many other cars over the previous months and nothing ever came to fruition of moving forward with any PPI for any of the cars you were interested in, which to be fair, only begs the question, are you real or not. The reason we say this is due to the fact that you did not even pick up the phone once to have a conversation about the 599 or any subsequent questions about the condition, PPI, etc. It seems you only operate on a few different emails and had no intention of talking on the phone. Not too mention the foul-mouth child-like name-calling in your multiple emails to us. Maybe we are old-school, but we enjoy the education and actual relationship of meeting and speaking to all of our clients and making sure that this is the vehicle for them. Maybe we are out of the loop and the new millennial age is to only be able to communicate via email and text message about a serious purchase. And maybe in this new age, everyone would rather swipe their credit card at a vending machine and the car of their dreams gets delivered without having to accidentally speak to anybody for fear of social anxiety. Every past and present client and every vehicle we have sold, we have at least spoken to the buyer or potential buyer of the vehicle they were interested in. So forgive us, but it does seem rather interesting you hiding behind an email address to try and "buy" a car and continuing to hide and post a bad experience review instead of having an intelligent conversation over the phone and actually meeting you to discuss a 6-figure collectible Ferrari. Truth be told, the 599 we had was indeed an excellent example, otherwise we would never have it, as you may see from the high quality of all the other vehicles we have for sale. We encourage PPI's to be done on any used car for everyone's benefit, both buyer and seller. I guess the beauty of 2019 and social media is anybody without reason can slander anybody they like, simply for the small child-like mentality of not getting what they want. We are sorry you missed out on this excellent 599, it has indeed been sold. We would say lighten up a bit as it's just a 10 year old 599, but maybe no car is ever good enough for you. We certainly wish you well in finding your next vehicle.
