Modern-day bait-and-switch

I'm looking at used CPO Foresters. The first salesperson I encountered was very nice. When I started looking to negotiate a few weeks later, every other employee I encountered was awful. I tried working with both Gillman Subaru dealers in town, and I will never do business with either after experiencing their sales team. 1. Both dealerships refused to negotiate at all. I realize the market was very irrational in 2021 and most of 2022, but it has cooled significantly. I will not buy a car with out negotiating on price. 2. Even worse, after having spent hours trying to get a deal going, I am informed that not only will they not negotiate, there is another $1000 of dealer add-ons that is not shown on the advertised price. This is a modern-day bait-and-switch. Anyways, I found the exact CPO Forester I was looking for 90 minutes away, and the dealer accepted my offer of KBB value + TTL, no markups, no add-ons, no BS, over email, without any fuss. I will go out of my way to avoid Gillman dealers from now on, for both sales and service.

Bad Customer Service , typical salesmen

Went in to look at Subarus since I loved the one I test drove at a Toyota dealership. There were sales people sitting at their desks, but no one wanted to help us. We waited for about 30 minutes before someone helped. Maybe I should have listened to my husband and left... my biggest regret. Bought a 2020 "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED" Subaru Ascent from them on 3/31, gave me a great rate. Go home, wake up and see a big crack in the moonroof. Take the car back, and I decide I don't want a moonroof. Traded for a 2021 Ascent instead. It's been a nightmare for them to get the paperwork right. I called when I saw that our Chase paperwork had the incorrect VIN number. I was speaking to the manager, and I was upset, he started laughing saying there's nothing he can do it's the end of the day. Instead, he could have apologized and assured that he will get it taken care of. Nope. They don't CARE. Thomas Brink has been "helping' us. Which he really hasn't. Chase is saying they barely received the paperwork to switch the cars. My payment is due THIS MONTH on the 15th and the paperwork is still not completed. I am also waiting for my plates, and asked Thomas last week are they in yet, he informed me that they haven't sent anything to get my plates yet, that they will expedite. What?! They are only there to make the sale, not to follow through. HORRIBLE experience. Please make sure to triple check your "Certified Pre-Owned". Not really Certified, oh and the new 2021 I got, the child lock was jammed and I had to go back and get that fixed.

Poor customer service after buying a vehicle

I bought a vehicle in October 2018, it is currently May 2019 and I have not received my title or license plates. If you want to buy a pre owned vehicle look else where because all they do is lie and provide awful customer service.

Very good salesperson

Had a great experience with Rewis while looking for information about a car we saw online. He responded quickly, was very courteous and provided detailed information that helped us greatly. He is very professional and we highly recommend him.

Bait and switch

Made a deal over the phone. Sent loan information, DL and insurance. Drove 2 hours to dealership, test drove the vehicle and began completing paperwork. Sales manager comes out and says sorry that vehicle is sold. I was dropped off at the dealership. They offered me a similar vehicle for $2k more. After speaking to another manager best they could do was pay for an Uber.
