Horrible experience. Worst experience ever at a dealer. Fuel gauge and dashboard lights were out when I drove the car. The dashboard lights only worked until I got home. I took the vehicle back 3 times and waited hours for the “repairs” and they never were able to get it in working order. They claimed they couldn’t repair the gas gauge because the problems were related. I finally gave up. Will never be back or recommend them.

I bought a terrible car from this terrible place
I bought a car here and was very dissatisfied. Many of these reviews are fake, the dealer buys them from sites like onlineboostup. Allow me to share the terrible experience I had buying a car from Sphinx . I called about a car I saw on their website. I spoke with Leo, who told me the car was still available, and ran great with no issues. He told me I could come by that afternoon to test drive it, and that if I liked it they could have it ready to go in a couple days as it "just needed to go in for emissions inspection" . Later that day I came by to see the car. I had to park next door at dunkin donuts as their lot was packed with cars, some with their dashboards torn out, and mismatched wheels, that were obviously being repaired and looked like they had been sitting for quite some time. There was not even room to turn around,the owners and employees were parked on the sidewalk as the lot was that full. I walked into the office and found the staff playing the xbox in their uniforms of sweatpants and sneakers. I made the mistake of not leaving then. I said I had an appointment with Leo to see the car I had called about. I was informed Leo was not there and nobody was expecting me . A staff member walked me outside to see the car where it turned out Leo was there . I overheard another staff member asking him "are you sure nothing is wrong with this car? it's for my father-in-law" .this was rather unsettling to hear, as it gave me the impression they would sell me a car that was not good enough for an employees father-in-law . Regardless, I got in the car, which had not been cleaned since the previous owner traded it in, probably at another dealer. The car had not a drop of fuel, the range was 0 miles and the employee had me wait on the lot while he took it up the street to the gas station. I took the car for a ride, and immediately noticed a serious hesitation issue. As well as an oil light on, and a steering issue that required an alignment at the bare minimum. The car also had water in a tail light that I asked that they repair. Despite all of this, the car had decent service history and was a fair (after the $500 dealer fee taxes, and registration fees on top of the advertised price) . We reluctantly left a deposit, contingent on the car being ready to pickup the next Monday,with all of those repairs being made. The owner agreed to this in writing and said it would be detailed and emissions would be complete. I called back on monday, they said they were waiting on parts and the car would be ready the next day. Tuesday, I call again, cars not ready , still waiting on parts. they promised it would definetly be ready by friday. I called Friday, sure enough there is another complication, But the car would DEFINITELY be ready the following Monday. A couple more phone calls and false promises later, I was told the car would be ready the next Friday. Friday comes along and they said they would have the car done by 4 PM. When I came by to pickup the car and pay the balance due, the car had not been cleaned, there was still water in the tail light, and the engine was in pieces outside in their lot. An hour after I paced around on their lot they finally had the car back together. The deal was that if the car drove well and issues were resolved I would pay the balance and drive the car home. the acceleration issue was repaired, but of course the steering issue is still there. I asked the owner why the steering issue was not fixed. ( I didn't even bother to complain that the car was even dirtier than when they got it, or that there was still water in the taillight). He replied " the steering is fine, it just needs an alignment, we aren't an alignment shop ." is this a joke? despite everything else , I thought the car was a good enough deal for the price, and was tired of being without a car. I knew if I pushed them to fix the other issues I'd be without a car for two more weeks. The car now needs almost $4,000 worth of repairs.

This was a super fast buying experience! Due to the current state of things I wasn't able to finance a vehicle however I didn't need to. They made things easy and fast! I was able.to test drive the same.day and the car was ready 2 days later. It was a great deal and the dealership.made buying easy!

THE WORST!
This dealership is the worst experience I’ve ever had with any dealership. Put $500 on a car to hold it for me just for them to BS me. I had to keep calling them to find out what was going on with the car. Something that was supposed to take 1 1/2 weeks turned into 3 weeks. Not once did they keep me posted. I finally called them and told them to refund my $500 which was supposed to take a week to get back. I had to call them again a few weeks later bc the $500 never got refunded which I am currently still waiting on. This is the worst service I’ve ever had at a dealership. I’m so disappointed. Very unprofessional... UPDATE: called him today and he asked me if I was the one who wrote the bad review and I told him yes. He then tells me to “Go xxxx myself” and hangs up on me. So I make a phone call to the Waterbury Police Department and explain the story and the second I say “Sphinx” the cop says “oh man” and tells me how the have a horrible reputation and do these things all the time. The 2 times he said he refunded the money never actually happened and he refuses to do it. BANK DISPUTE HERE WE COME!
