0 stars!
0 stars! What a scammer. Says oh the vehicle we were looking at was in a salvage accident but didn't have a salvage title. Yet, when I ran the VIN, well look at that. Salvage title in ny and then gets titled in VT and then back in NY. From VT to ny, the title mysteriously lost its salvage title. Wow, great scam you got going on, wash the titles. Absolute waste of my time for an absolute piece of junk. Everything on the lot was JUNK!!

Bought a lovely Subaru Crosstrek from GDT Automotive last
Bought a lovely Subaru Crosstrek from GDT Automotive last month. It has proven to be a good deal, a great running car, and one I will feel safe having my daughter driving to her first year in college. The owner Scott, was very concerned about it being the right one for her, and I appreciated his diligence. I have read other reviews, and I get that he is a different kind of guy, as I am, so his quirkiness did not turn me off. In fact, it seems that the only bad reviews are those from people who took issue with his style, and the good reviews, those who had actually bought cars from him....... I bought a car from him. The right car....at a great price. Low miles, Well serviced, and Safe for my precious daughter.....Thanks Scott! Tim Hunter Gardiner, NY

Bought a 2010 Subaru Forester from this scammer Scott
Bought a 2010 Subaru Forester from this scammer Scott Gellar and right away not even 24 hours the car broke down. So I returned the car to have it fixed and we waited for 5 weeks just to get the car fixed only to stay in our garage for two weeks to let him fix again then we waited for 3 months plus almost four only to deal with another break at the bumper. This guys Scott keep on pushing the pick up schedule then finally today we forced our way in to talk to him. When we were there, he talked to us about how much he spend on the car and want us to pay $400 for the fanning belt but we insisted not to pay that coz it’s not our fault but he really want us to pay and was furious when my friend and my wife was questioning as to why we have to pay so there was no deal and we will have to sue him on court. I will also have to say that Scott is a sexist and racist. He took advantage of us thinking we are an immigrant and thought we know nothing. I also gave him countless chances about the transaction thinking that he will work things out but it got worst everytime. Please guys don’t buy car from this scammer. It’s a total waste of time and money.

Didn't even make it to this business.
Didn't even make it to this business. Saw an ad for a 2013 Subaru Impreza on Facebook marketplace under a throwaway Facebook account with a fake name. Was told to call or text the business' phone number. When I called I didn't even get the model of the vehicle I was interested in out of my mouth before the owner was so condescending - his first question to me was "is your dad or husband going to look at the car with you? It's probably easier if I speak to your dad or husband directly". When I asked "why's that" he became frustrated and said "well fine then what do you want to know". I rattled off a few questions he halfway answered, and I hung up. I'm a 30 year old woman who doesn't answer to anyone. That condescending, sexist attitude is disturbing and I will never buy anything from someone like that.

My experience was the same as everyone else's.
My experience was the same as everyone else's. He's a fast talker, constantly goes around in circles, and wanted me to text him to remind him of things. He was belligerent when things didn't go his way. I put the initial deposit down in August, and I was not able to pick the car up until October. I had to drive down there multiple times before I could take it home. At one point, I got halfway there (I live two hours away) and he calls me to tell me he found another problem with the car and that I can't pick it up that day. To be fair to him, some of these long drives down to him were my fault for not bringing proper documentation. If this was all I had to deal with, I would give him three stars. But here's the kicker. In the past five and a half months since I have picked up this car, I've had to put $1700 into it. It needed two new wheel bearings, a new driver side door, and rear brake calipers, pads, and rotors. To make matters worse, he actually charged me $300 to do the rear brakes before I picked it up, and now I have to do it again 5 months later. And just today, I found out that my catalytic converter is on the way out. I do not recommend this dealership. Stay as far away from it as possible.

Crickets
Fortunately I have not purchased a vehicle and after reading these reviews I will not. I can tell you from what I read everything seems accurate. Didin't get back to me for 2 weeks then asked what I was looking for. I told him and was asked do I know the history of the vehicle. I said no and he said he was too busy to tell me at that time, but then went on to say it was a salvage title but he could get me through it. I sad okay, text me your address. Crickets. I texted him back 2 days later and said I'm still waiting for your address. He calls the next day and asked my what I was texting him about and I reminded him. Clueless. I reminded him again and you guessed it, crickets. So thank you everyone you have all saved me a 4 hour trip and extra heartache I didn't need.

Don't get sucked in!!!
Purchased a vehicle from them in the past. Had to wait for almost 3 months for the title to come in so we stuck it out. The owner behaves very strangely and is super anxious and nervous acting. He talks in circles and you generally can't get a word in edgewise. We ended up buying the car but the experience was not so pleasant. He had the nerve to practically beg me to give him a good online review! Yeah right! Fast forward to now, an elderly family member is looking for a car so as a last option I reached out to Scott as there was a particular car on the lot we were interested in. He invited us out to see the vehicle only for him to tell us that two other separate parties had deposits on the same vehicle??? I told him that it would have been nice if he had let us know that before coming all the way out to his shop. He also insisted on having us sit out in the dealership's backyard on dirty chairs while he went on and on about all the other choices he had in cars but that we had to leave money with him if "we were serious". He then told us that if the person who left the deposit on the car we liked didn't show up with the balance he would let us know. We ended up leaving after seeing his inventory of salvage vehicles and having no real interest. He then had phone conversations with my elderly family member telling her that the vehicle she was interested in would probably be available that day because the original buyer hadn't yet paid the balance. We went all the way back out to his shop only for him to say that the original buyer still had dibs on the car and that we could look at all his other inventory. Total waste of time!!! To boot, he's using profanity as normal course of speech which was unacceptable and unprofessional, especially when speaking with woman that is old enough to be his mother. The other reviews are all true, I dealt with his B.S. 1st hand...

Short money goes a long way with GDT Automotive
I have purchased 3 vehicles from GDT in the past 4 months. The cars were priced well below market value. Scott was very honest with the history of each vehicle. 2008 and 2010 Honda Accord coupes also a 2008 Toyota Matrix- all were first cars for my grandchildren and nephew. i will continue to do business with GDT Automotive

Run away from this place!
Purchased a 2011 Subaru Forester from Scott Gellar and it failed inspection and the estimate to complete the work to get it to pass inspection is $2694.39. This guy is a fraud and boasts how long he has been in the business and how great he and his mechanic are but refuses to back up his sales and contract that states all cars he sells pass inspection! Steer clear from this place
