Shopping USAA’s car buying service/True Car we found a great price on a 2017 Armada Platinum at Pee Wee Cray’s Fairly Reliable Used Cars. A name like that gets your attention (makes you wonder is this guy for real?) But reason tells you that only a trustworthy person could operate under a tongue-in-cheek business name like that. Read the About Us page on his website. Everything stated we found to be true - family operation, fair treatment, no surprises - great experience. Even drinks and Netflix for our kids during paperwork. Because we live 80 miles away, the general manager and Pee Wee’s son Zach graciously agreed to meet us halfway for a test drive on a week night. He didn’t have to do that, but that touch definitely helped us settle on this purchase. While completing the paperwork at their dealership a couple days later, I saw Pee Wee’s very well-worn Bible on a table in a side room. For my wife and I, this reassured our trust in the transaction. When we were done, I asked if he searches for specific cars on request. He pointed to a white board with a list of vehicles he’s currently hunting for customers. I will definitely check in with him next time I’m shopping.
