Stew Hansen GMC is the worst service department.

Stew Hansen GMC is the worst service department. I brought my vehicle in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I got there I noticed something weird with my sunroof; which I had open because it was a nice day. Jack asked if I would like them to look at it. I stated that yes, because your the only place I can get the parts. I went into the waiting room. I waited nearly 2 hours for them to get my car completed. Before they were finished of course they had to try and sell me on over $2100 in maintenance. I went and paid for the service and went out to my car. I looked up at my sunroof and someone had tried to close it and made it worse. I immediately went back into the service bay and complained. I spoke with the General Manager and he asked that I bring it back the next day. I did and of course nothing was communicated. I emailed them my extended warranty. In the email I expected them to take some responsibility. I got a return email that they wanted to charge me $225 to diagnose the issue. I emailed back that I wasn't going to pay that and that I wanted them to get my sunroof closed and I would be taking it somewhere else. 2 hours later I got an email that said the estimate would be over $2300 dollars. It wasn't an accurate estimate since I was unwilling to pay the $225. I tried to talk to the service manager. I got hung up on. I kept calling until I finally got someone that would actually listen. The service manager basically blamed me for everything. Instead of trying to solve the problem he told me that the technician was securing the car and the sunroof was already broken. What he left out was that the problem was made worse by trying to close the sunroof without figuring out what needed to be done. Now I am still waiting for them to pick me up an hour later. THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, COMMUNICATION AND THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHERE THEY ARE WRONG. I WOULD GIVE THIS A 0 IF I COULD

We went for a test drive in a 2021 GMC Yukon XL Denali

We went for a test drive in a 2021 GMC Yukon XL Denali with a young man named Mike. He was very informative about the vehicle. This was around 4:00 in the afternoon. My husband said that he wanted to think about it overnight and told them we would call them first thing in the morning. So the next morning, we called, and text and said that we wanted the car and would be there in 1 1/2 hours as we lived out of town. An appointment was confirmed for 11:45 am. We were headed to Des Moines when we received a call from the dealership. A young man named Justin was calling since Mike was off to let us know that they did not have the title to the vehicle and couldn’t sell it until they did. He said they had tracked it and saw it should arrive in a day or two and would call us so that we could come then and make the purchase. Then in the afternoon I get a text saying that someone else was coming to look at the same vehicle and if we could put a down payment on it they would hold it for us. So I gave him my card number to make the down payment. Then I receive a call from Steff. She said that we couldn’t put a down payment on it as we had not settled on a dollar amount, and that the people test driving it could if they made them an offer. I explained that we were on our way there first thing this morning to buy the car, and we’re told to save the trip until the title was there, so we would have had first pick on the car. She said she would do some checking and that we should have made an offer the night before. She was supposed to call me back, well after 2 hours I called her back, and they had taken a deposit and accepted an offer from another person. I tried to explain that we would have been there first thing this morning if we weren’t informed that they couldn’t sell it without the title in hand. She just said these things happen! I will not go back there as they don’t seem to honor their word or tell the customer everything they needed to know about making an offer and leaving a deposit. We have been denied the right to buy this vehicle and feel very hurt, and screwed. I feel like we should have been given the opportunity to do FaceTime and make our offer over the internet. We were given nothing and ended up losing the vehicle we wanted. We have bought from another Stew Hansen dealer, but will never buy from this one! Diane Steinhoff

If I could leave a zero-star rating, it would be done in

If I could leave a zero-star rating, it would be done in a heartbeat. I purchased my vehicle from this dealership with the hopes of getting excellent service when issues arise, but apparently, I was very wrong! I have taken my car in now for the fourth time for the same issue to be told yet again that they can't do anything as there is nothing wrong with my car besides either I have put in the wrong gas or have gotten contaminated gas from multiple different Quik Trips across town. The issue first started out as difficulties when it came to acceleration where my car wouldn't shift which would cause an ESC alert to come across my dash followed by a check engine light and traction control lights. They first told me the problem was a spark plug which did get replaced, but the issue ended up coming back a month later. The second time, they had numerous people drive my car but that they were unable to see what the issue was. They suggested it could be the type of gas I used. The issue just kept getting worse after that too the point of multiple misfires with my engine. Took it in for a third time, to be told there were vacuum leaks which got fixed and that I had contaminated gas. When I went to pick up my car for the third time, it was in worst shape than when I had dropped it off. I did as directed by the mechanic and the advisor, Steve, which was to run out the tank of "contaminated" gas to see if that fixes the issue, if not bring it back in. After the new tank of gas, it was still having issues and was still getting worse. Took it in for the fourth time to be told yet again it was just the "contaminated" gas that was causing all of my issues on top of the long list of engine codes that kept popping up. They wouldn't look any further to see about other issues. I would absolutely never recommend this place to anybody as everybody there is either lazy or don't know a single thing about how to do their jobs!!!!

Outstanding service due to Benjamin Holdiman

Had a phenomenal experience at Stew Hansen GMC. The Sales Rep I dealt with, Benjamin Holdiman, provided excellent service. He was upfront, never hesitated to answer questions, actually encouraged questions, and was very transparent. Benjamin never tried to push the sale and was just a genuine person who was easy to talk to. Two thumbs up on the overall service and experience. And it was all because of Benjamin. We did buy a vehicle and Benjamin was there next to us every step of the way, helping answer any questions we had. If you are looking at a vehicle at Stew Hansen, I highly recommend and encourage you to call Benjamin Holdiman. Top notch Sales Rep. who cares about the customer.
