Very quick and complete

Tim Ferrin was very helpful and made sure my car was done as soon as possible. I had an additional problem with my tire and he got it fixed.

Amazing sales man

Today i bought my 2011 chrysler 300, after looking around at a couple places and being bombard by sales people... i finally came here and it felt so much better to just being talked to then being hammered with sales people. i got a great deal with an immaculate car.

Fast and efficient

My check engine light came on. I went to dealer. They plugged in the scanner and diagnosed the problem. They did not have part in stock so they gave me a vehicle to drive. They were able to get part and install within two hours. I was called an picked up my truck same day. Very friendly and extremely efficient.

Good communication

I had my car towed to the dealership. They provided a shuttle to take me home. Throughout the process to determin what was wrong I received communications. I very much appreciate the customer service at Shuman. I've been a customer for at least 25 years.

Do not take your Viper (or any other car) here

The Dodge Boys (the UAW workers at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, or CAAP) installed the rear tires on our 2016 Viper backwards on the rims. The tires are asymmetrical, and the rear tires displayed "inside" on the outside sidewall. No big deal, I thought; we'll just take it to the dealer through which we purchased the car (We had taken delivery at CAAP). Understand, I'm a car detailing nut (every neighborhood has one) and the paint on our Viper was perfected; literally better than when we picked it up from the factory. When we dropped the car off, we were adamant with the service writer that the car was not to be washed, and we received reassurance from the service writer that the car would not be washed. Nevertheless, when I picked the car up a few days later, I found the car had been carelessly washed, causing widespread fine scratches which created "holograms" everywhere on the car when the sun was shining on it. My wife nearly became physically ill at the sight of the car in sunlight, after knowing the condition the car was in before visiting Shuman Dodge. Beyond the clear coat damage, we found the interior to be filthy, as if the car had been left in a dusty environment with the windows down while in the poor care of this dealership's service department. When I challenged the service writer, I was told the car had not been washed! So I met with the Service Manager, who admitted they had washed the car "...the same as all other cars.." that visit the dealership. Like our Viper was a decade-old minivan instead of an expensive exotic with delicate, wet-sanded clear coat from the factory. It looks as if a plastic-bristled brush was used to scrub the car. Shuman Dodge has denied all responsibility, so the issue has been raised to FCA Corporate for resolution. Needless to say, Shuman Dodge has lost my business for life, and now that you know how careless, irresponsible, and unconcerned they are with their customers, you are well-advised to find another dealership to service your vehicle. At the end of the day, the value of my car has been decreased as a direct result of this warranty service visit. A scratched-up Viper has less value than an identical one which is not scratched-up. Cost to repair the paint via machine-polish paint correction is in the 4-digit range ($1050.00, to be exact). And the already-thin clear coat will be further thinned as a result. UPDATE: 9/19/2017: Despite Joe Z's response below, you, the reader of this review, can rest assured that anyone looking at our Viper in bright sunlight prior to our visit to Shuman Dodge would have thought the car was just painted 5 minutes prior to your viewing. It WAS a show-car with paint in perfected condition, primed to win trophies in the future. You do not need to be a professional detailer to see the difference between beautiful paint and "swirled" paint; the difference is obvious in direct sunlight. After our visit to Shuman Dodge, direct sunlight revealed clearcoat damage. Washing the entire car to troubleshoot the passenger-mirror-water-drip-issue is preposterous. The fact it was raining when we took the car in, and it was dirty as a result, is irrelevant. We were tired of waiting for a sunny day to take the car in to get the UAW workers' mistakes fixed. This is why we were so obstinate about not washing the car...and we received reassurances the car would not be washed! It was a very simple instruction. The interior of the car was factory-fresh prior to my visit; a film of dirt and dust covered the entire interior of the car at the time I picked the car up. The car was well not cared for, period. Our Viper had no swirls or holograms prior to our visit to Shuman Dodge. That is the plain truth. There is no way for me to show everyone the car in-person, this is why I used a USB microscope which shows the cross-hatched carvings into the clearcoat as a result of improper wash procedures. If you could see the car in-person, in direct sunlight, you would see the nose-to-tail "swirls" in the clearcoat (swirls are the most-difficult scratches to polish out). I'm currently into hour 4 of machine-polishing the car. Some scratches are so deep, significant clearcoat removal is required to remove the scratches. There will be another 8 hours of polishing before the car is brought back to how it was before our visit, but I would never be able to polish the car again out of fear of burning through the clearcoat. At the end of the day, my wife and I are the ones who have lost value in the car, thanks to Shuman Dodge. Now we just can't wait to get this car out of our lives.

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and I’m very sorry for your recent service experience. Since 1955 the Shuman family has been servicing this great community and have built a reputation for quality work and fair prices. I had a chance to discuss your situation with our service manager Kyle as well as Bob Shuman who you also spoke with. Our policy is to wash all vehicles that come in for service, a perk our customers appreciate and have come to expect. Now washing 100+ vehicles per day is no easy task so at considerable expense we installed an automatic car wash that every service vehicle is run through when completed, weather permitting and with some exceptions like your vehicle. When your vehicle arrived at our dealership it was dirty, it was raining the day you dropped it off. I believe when you spoke with Kyle he explained the reason we Hand Washed your vehicle. One of your complaints was when it rains or you wash the vehicle water drips from your outside mirror and you felt the dripping water was causing damage to the clear coat on your door. For us to inspect your concern we had to see that area clean so Kyle had a member of our detail staff hand wash your car using a new wash cloth with fresh soap and water. Washing a vehicle in this manner will not damage the clear coat. I can assure you a plastic-bristled brush was not used on any part of your vehicle nor did we leave your vehicle parked with the windows down. Extra care was taken with your vehicle making sure it had protective mats and protective seat cover installed, was parked away from other vehicles, secured, and pulled in the shop every night for security. We know this is a special car and treated it accordingly. When you picked up your vehicle you and our service manager Kyle inspected it in the sunlight, there were no visible scratches noted. Later you told us very fine scratches in the clear coat are only visible using special lighting and a USB Microscope Camera. I am certainly not a paint expert, however, I suspect using a microscope on any vehicles paint will show some type of imperfection. As I understand it, the average new vehicle has a clear coat thickness of roughly 2 Mil. I can only assume the Viper may be a little thicker than average. The scratches you are referring to are microns in depth and will certainly not affect the integrity of the clear coat if polished out. I would not even try to guess how many cars we have washed and detailed over the years, in the millions I suspect. I can honestly say we have never had a complaint such as this and we firmly believe hand washing your vehicle as we did could not have caused major clear coat damage as you claim. I know you own and run a vehicle detail business, I believe you understand better than most if you look hard enough you’ll always find something on a production automobile…even a Viper. Again, I’m very sorry for your service visit and I hope this helps you better understand our position. Please be assured we are always here to help you. Have a Great Day!!! Just a great experience, our saleman was great to work with.

Dealing with other dealerships the last couple years really left a bad impression, but Shuman was an enjoyable experience. Gave us a great deal and didnt pressure us to get more than we wanted.
