Awful . Don’t take the risk! Car taken back to the dealership 4 times because it won’t start at times and other times for them to fix the things they promised. As far as for the vehicle not starting - First time said it was the battery cable, next time same problem but said it was the key, third time same identical : according them it was the harness, kept it for weeks, lied and never submitted a warranty claim but assured us it was fixed ( at their expense), we purchased a warranty on the car that includes everything SUPPOSEDLY- and there’s nothing WE can do when they don’t submit claims. Finally took it to a reputable dealership- it wouldn’t start again but they diagnosed it immediately - said the car was unsafe for driving and had major problems. CMT had patch it together with junk parts, failing to even secure the harness. CMT NORCO has never properly repaired the vehicle! They knew it was bad! Over 2,000 in rental cars because of this horrific dealership. Alex, the manager was livid because of my YELP review and refused to help us. The manager said, we keep bringing it back for minor things- I don’t call it minor when the car could potentially shut off at anytime and when you’ve been stranded at least 6 times because it won’t start. All we want is to return this defective car, get reimbursed for our rentals, get all of the money we’ve paid back . . . they refused! Several nice people there tried to help us, but the arrogance of the management overrules! Stressed and afraid of this black 2017 Jeep Compass with very low miles. Everything that looks and sounds good, isn’t always good. Unbelievable, I never imagined. Don’t be deceived by CMT.

Writing about my experience at local dealership in hopes...

Writing about my experience at local dealership in hopes that this doesn’t happen to anyone else!! In search for a reliable vehicle, I saw a (new to me) used 2017 Jeep Compass available for purchase from California Motor Trade in Norco, CA. I purchased the vehicle with CMT’s salesman, Finn, on Sunday, April 4th. It was in need of some minor detailing (carpet cleaned, driver side lock and spoiler replaced as they were missing), I wasn’t able to pick it up until Wednesday, April 7th. Less than three days later, on April 10th it would not start, again on the 16th, once again on the May 6th, May 7th and most recently May 17th. Since I’ve had it, I have been left stranded 5 times. After receiving the lemon, one would hope the dealership would do everything in their power to rectify the situation and accommodate the customer but CMT has made an already unfortunate situation even worse. As mentioned before, the salesman, Finn is kind, respectful and for the most part responsive. I believe trying to serve his clientele but didn’t seem to be knowledgeable about the issues concerning the vehicle. Alex in management seemed to be helpful the second mishap— quickly responsive for my second tow. But it was downhill from there. After picking up my vehicle the first time, I was told the battery compartment was just loose. The second time I was left stranded, they called for a tow but made it point to tell me “every time you call, it’s something so minor!”, when I picked it up this time, they thought that the key to the vehicle had been cut in correctly and had a locksmith made a new one. When I asked Alex to arrange transportation for me, it replied “I cannot help you with that.” If he TRULY couldn’t accommodate me with a vehicle he could have referenced the agreement where it states they must pay a portion of the rental or offer an alternative. But he was content with leaving me with no solution. The last time I called CMT after being stranded, Alex told me this would be the last time they helped me because of the review my mom wrote about them. After expressing my frustration with this entire process he expressed to me “I don’t know what’s wrong with your car. I can’t help you.” We spent the next several days dissecting the warranty and trying to find someone to pick up the vehicle and FINALLY get it repaired, only to discover that CMT had not submitted any of the paperwork regarding the warranty. It wasn’t until my mom called CMT to inquire why this was not done (Alex assured her (or LIED) that it was already done. It was then, that one of CMT’s mechanics called me and asked if they could pick up my car for repair. When I expressed my confusion as to why they would pick it up when they already communicated they could not fix it and did not want to assist me any longer, they insisted. It has been one week since my conversation with management (Alex) and 6 days since they picked up my vehicle. I have not heard about any progress on the repairs, the mechanic will not answer my texts or phone calls, the salesman will not give me an update. The service department has communicated with my mother that they are waiting for a diagnostic, in another phone call they are waiting for paperwork, in another phone call they haven’t seen the vehicle. All very inconsistent and suspicious. I’m spending over a grand in rentals in ADDITION to a car payment for a vehicle that does not work. This has been a nightmare of an experience and I would never recommend this company. They are unprofessional, shady, and dishonest. At the end of the day, a quality dealership would do whatever it took to rectify the situation-- take it to knowledgable mechanics, give an honest diagnostic, apologize, offer an accommodation, exchange the vehicle... anything would be better than what I'm currently going through. NO ANSWERS AND NO WORKING VEHICLE. I want the community to know so that no one has to go through this!

THEY TRULY ARE THE WORST! DISRESPECT-LIES-bad car

My daughter purchased this car on 4/4/21- broke down in less than a week -wouldn't start. Have taken it in 4 maybe 5 times. they were very rude and demeaning. Things like, every time we see this car it's something minor. You call a GIRL STRANDED AND car not starting minor? YOU CALL RENTING A REPLACEMENT AT 70 A DAY MINOR? THE RUDE SERVICE GUY'S BAD ATTITUDE WAS PLEASANT IN THE LAST TWO INTERACTIONS AND HE WAS ACTUALLY MORE HELPFUL AND CONCERNED. It appears that they didn't really seek to find the problem until I wrote a bad review on the company-they FINALLY did a diagnostic and claim it was a bad key but assured it was working- a week later, it didn't start AGAIN. NOW THE CAR IS ABANDONED IN A PARKING LOT BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO HELP, THE MANAGER (ALEX) tells my daughter (sitting in a disabled car 1 hour 50 minutes away from home that this is the last time I'm going to help you BECAUSE OF THE BAD REVIEW that your mom WROTE THAT INSULTED my BROTHER AND my COMPANY. That transpired into an argument, where my daughter said, tell me you don't know what' s wrong with the car and you're not going to help me. He said, I dont know what's wrong with the car and Im not going to help you. WOW, he needs conflict resolution skills, training to be professional even in the midst of adversity. and to be a kind citizen of this great country. JUST TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS RIGHT, HELP PEOPE AND BE PROUD THAT YOU DID AT THE END OF THE DAY. It's a business, respect and treat your customers right! I called about the extended warranty the car has- the warranty protection company could find no record of it. They had me call CMT and somehow I was transferred to rude Alex who actually came on very nice- then asked if he could talk candidly with me. I said sure. Well, I didn't know the definition of candid changed to equate rude! He brought my bad YELP review of the company which contained no misinformation, total truth but said I insulted his little brother and bashed his company. From there the conversation went down hill and he still stood by the fact that he wasn't going to provide further assistance because of my review. All I was calling about was contact info to find out if I had a warranty or if I've been cheated out of that along with a lemon for a car and extremely poor service. MEN THAT ARE DISRESPECTFUL TO WOMEN STINK! BUSINESSES THAT DON'T PUT THEIR CUSTOMER FIRST, STINK! See, a simple I'm sorry about this experience, let's start over and we will see what we can do to help would have been enough for me, I just want the car fixed. But Alex's deflated ego won't allow him to respect and do what is right! When this is over, we will be out of a lot of money- renting a car EVERY SINGLE week since we've had the car, towings and deductibles, what a disgrace. NOW ATTORNEYS. GRRRRR! STAY AWAY from California MotorTrade of Norco, I wish this on noone! #californiadoeshaveusedcarslemonlawspraiseGOD

I honestly had one of the best car buying experiences at California Motor Trade in Norco. It was my 1st time ever being in the city of Norco, CA, and discovered it’s quite a drive from Burbank, CA where we live. But my sales guy Benjamin had been the most helpful and professional car salesman I have ever done business with. I felt he honestly answered all of my questions I had throughout the buying process, I never once felt pressured to buy or settle for any “deals”. He stayed later at the dealership and waited until I arrived due to my scheduling, had everything prepared and ready to go as I had requested, and the whole visit went smoothly and timely, thanks also to Eric for test driving with us and minor maintenance, I can’t say enough good things about those guys, other than Thank you! I love my car... Melanie J

Issue resolved

Update on previous review since I can't edit it. They took the vehicle back for the repairs and fixed them free of charge. The car was picked up next day and the issue was resolved. This was after the sales manager called me and told me he wouldn't fix the vehicle until I changed my bad review on yelp. If any further issues arise I will not be bringing the car back to them.

Terrible

Came in on a Sunday after finding a vehicle I wanted online. Checked it out, and it was nice so I told them I wanted to purchase. I had my pre-approval from my bank and the down payment in my bank account ready to take the vehicle home that day. They told me they couldn't let me take it unless they ran my credit again. I declined and they said the car would be most likely be ready on Tuesday after they did the smog check and oil change. On Tuesday I texted the salesman and no response. Called and called and finally texted back saying Wednesday. Wednesday comes and same thing. After calling dealership directly and being placed on hold I was told that the car will be ready Thursday. I finally take delivery of the car on Thursday only to find the axle boot is ripped and is throwing grease all under the car. The driver side window would not roll back up either. I called the dealership yet again and they told me to bring the car back when I get the chance. We will see what they will do to make things right but overall very dissatisfied with this dealership.
