My recent purchase of a Genesis GV70 from South Bay Genesis in California has been incredibly frustrating, falling far short of the expected luxury car buying experience. The entire process, from initial contact to final delivery, was fraught with unprofessional conduct and a shocking lack of customer service. The initial quote, presented as a single-column Excel sheet, lacked detail and transparency. My request for a formal contract before wiring the significant sum of $50,000 was met with unusual resistance. While I eventually received and signed a contract, the subsequent communication was severely lacking. After wiring the funds, I received no confirmation or update for several days, despite repeated attempts to contact the salesperson. His eventual response, inquiring if I had wired the money, was astonishing given my previous communication. Upon arranging transport, the vehicle arrived in Nevada completely devoid of the necessary registration paperwork. My attempts to rectify this situation with the dealership were met with constant roadblocks. Phone calls went unanswered or to full voicemails, and sales staff claimed to be unavailable. I was forced to escalate the issue to Genesis corporate customer service. Even then, the general manager displayed a distinct lack of concern, seemingly more interested in quickly terminating the conversation than resolving my problem. He showed no interest in process improvement or addressing the failings of his sales team. This experience has left me deeply disappointed. The complete lack of professionalism and post-sale support from South Bay Genesis is unacceptable. The blatant disregard for customer satisfaction after receiving payment is particularly concerning. Even misleading information was provided regarding staff availability. I strongly advise anyone considering a Genesis purchase to avoid South Bay Genesis and seek a dealership that values customer service and provides a more professional buying experience. The extra travel time to a different dealership would be well worth it to avoid such unprofessional conduct and significant inconvenience.

I also have to say - it was not a one-man sales process numerous other employees jumped in to help -- bring a car, get it washed, help with the app, etc. It takes a village to sell a car! He helped me with my deal back in 2019 and got me the numbers I was looking for after several weeks of negotiations. He also helped resolve the issue I had with one of his supervisors, Cedric (General Sales Manager). Thank you for all of your help, J. C. Highly recommend going here because J.C. will treat you with the utmost respect. Very rare to find real people who care about their customers the way he does in the auto industry. You’re the man, J.C.! Also recommend this dealership for their fantastic Service department. There was some confusion with scheduling my service appointment on the weekend for something they don’t typically handle over weekends, but Donny (Service Manager) understood my position and made it right. He not only ensured that he’d get the service I needed, but got my car to a great condition in ways other dealerships didn’t do. Appreciate all of the great people working here who go above and beyond for their clients.

This was my first experience purchasing a car and it was perfect. They were prepared as soon as we came in and had everything ready to go. Jimmy Lee who worked with us was very polite and helpful. He also had very good knowledge of the car and despite weeks of looking up the car prior to buying, I was still surprised to learn more about it.
