We purchased a truck and paid cash. We were not made aware that this dealership was running a credit check and applying for a Chase Auto loan. We did not give the dealership permission to do this. Very discouraging. When I called the Sales Manager his answer was "we had to protect the house" in case your check didn't clear. I offered several times for them to call our bank to verify funds. They said it was not necessary. I didn't know they applied for a Chase Auto loan until I received a letter in the mail from Chase.
Avoid leader auto group dealers
Went to try a vehicle, was told they were waiting on parts for the one I wanted to try, so I tried one similar. They tried to say they were waiting on parts (vehicle sold next day and car had been listed by them for a little while). The sales person said they might need to add the cost of the parts to the cost of the vehicle, which is interesting as they had just dropped the price 1,500. When I told them I did not want the xzilion (don’t know anyone needing $2500 in detailing repairs) and LoJack, they said it’s not optional and adds value to the vehicle. Between those two items, it’s a $4000 mark up to the vehicle. I went home and looked. All the leader auto group dealers have both items on all their vehicles. To me, those are shady practices. I wonder if the mark ups are similar to the ones Napleton auto group was doing and lost a lawsuit over recently against state of Illinois. Bait and switch, junk add ons, false advertising on prices. Avoid.

Avoid leader auto group dealers. I contacted them regarding a vehicle that had recently dropped in price. They said it was on the lot but waiting on parts, I asked if there was similar vehicle I could try and went to dealer to try the vehicle (higher price tag). They says the one I was interested in would be a few days before getting parts, when asked what it needed repairs for, they wouldn’t answer me. It was a 2020 Cherokee. This vehicle sold the next day. I was asked if they wanted numbers run, and when I asked if it was on the one I had come to see, was told no, on the one I drove. I also told them that I did not want xzilion ($2500 mark up) and LoJack ($1500 mark up) and was told they were not optional. I was told it was “added value”. So pretty sure we have bait and switch (at least attempted to), junk add ons. I wonder if these add ins are similar to the ones Napleton auto group was doing in the lawsuit they lost against the state of Illinois. I looked and from what I can see, the only dealers with these mandatory add ons are with leader auto group.
They will outright lie to your face
They epitomize the stereotype of sleazy, shady used car sales. They use bait and switch tactics on pricing to get you on the lot and driving a car, then tell you the car is actually thousands more than you expected it to be on price. They do not care about people or customer service, only about how much money they can suck out of you. Avoid them and buy elsewhere.
Don’t bother looking at their list price. These clowns add an additional $2500 mandatory interior warranty. If you have 2 hours to kill, this dealership will know how to waste it for you. Bait and switch at its finest.

I wanted to purchase a vehicle and I live in another state. The salesperson I originally talked with stopped communicating with me. I spoke with a saleswoman and she answered my questions. I was put in touch with a manager to try and discuss the sale price and it seemed the manager was being bothered. He did not seem interested speaking to me or going forward with a sale. I was told that he would call me back in 10 minutes, which never happened. I was willing to put money down to hold the vehicle while the sale price was being worked out and was told that they do not do that, only for test drives.
