Bought a used truck for 14,000, 3000 down and financed

Bought a used truck for 14,000, 3000 down and financed the rest. the radio didnt work during the test drive so i got promise to fix it on paper for 30 days. was hospitalized a few days after purchase for 14 days and wasnt able to drive for a few days afterwards. contacted the dealership three times during the last few days of the agreement but never got a call back. very unprofessional and unsympathetic when it comes to unforseen circustances. take your business somewhere else, i know i will

Confidence Ford of Norman – A Masterclass in How Not to

Confidence Ford of Norman – A Masterclass in How Not to Treat a Customer I drove 337 miles to purchase a used truck from Confidence Ford of Norman after finding what looked like a great deal online. I arrived with my own financing lined up and the expectation of a smooth transaction. What I got instead was a trainwreck from the moment I walked through the door. Let’s start with the finance manager, Sean Porterfield. His first words? “I should have been off work an hour ago, so I’m going to make this quick.” Charming, right? It only got worse. He muttered creepy comments to his computer like “come on baby girl, warm up for daddy,” in front of my wife, no less. When she dared to read the contract carefully, he interrupted her and said she should “just listen to him.” I was floored. I’ve never witnessed such unprofessional, disrespectful behavior in a supposed place of business. Despite having financing already secured, I was aggressively pressured to go through their financing to "get the truck sold today" with vague promises that I could re-finance later. Reluctantly, I went along. Big mistake. Right after the sale (3/28/25), I discovered the radio didn’t work. The dealership initially brushed it off, then later called back admitting they’d sold the truck knowing the stereo had been removed by the previous owner—a “high-priority client,” whatever that means. They insisted I bring the truck back—337 miles again—to fix it. They refused to allow repairs through a local dealership. So I drove all the way back (4/2/25), dropped off the truck, and began watching the mess unfold via FordPass. For days, the truck sat untouched. When I called on 4/8/25, a rep named Cornelius claimed the truck was being worked on at their dealership. I told him I could see via the app it was still at the stereo shop. His response? Shouting at someone to "go get it immediately." Over the next week, he promised the truck would be ready on 4/11, then 4/12, then 4/14—none of which were true. Finally, nearly two weeks later (4/15/25), I returned once again. The stereo had been replaced with a sloppy, half-working system. As an automotive wiring technician, I inspected the install myself—improper wiring, unsecured connections, and a clear fire hazard. Completely unacceptable. As if this saga wasn’t enough, on 4/23/25 I tried to register the truck in Kansas, only to discover I had no title. Turns out, they’d charged me for tags and taxes in Oklahoma, yet had no plan to transfer registration to Kansas. When I finally got someone on the phone, she admitted she still had the title in hand and had “never heard” of doing it this way. So why was I pushed to do this during financing? Who knows. I’m still waiting on the overnighted title and a check for thousands to give to my local DMV. The only bright spot in this disaster was our salesperson, Chase, who was helpful and communicative throughout. If not for him, I would’ve walked away long before signing anything. Final Verdict: Avoid Confidence Ford of Norman like your sanity depends on it—because it does. If you enjoy being misled, disrespected, and left holding a flaming bag of customer service failure, this is your place. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere. Far elsewhere. Preferably more than 337 miles away.

Thank you for your review and for speaking with our leadership team to help address your concerns. We appreciate your business.

Consumer response

I don’t know how this is considered speaking to your leadership team, but okay. No one has called either of us to follow up nor did anyone have a second or five to speak with us when we were at the dealership.

We worked with Ty and Cord.

We worked with Ty and Cord. Both of them were lovely, and we would recommend them to anyone. We bought a used vehicle, but our experience was vastly different with Ty, than with other used car salespeople. She is exceptional, and your dealership is made better because of her. I would make the 2.5 hour drive to Norman, just to buy from her again. She is not pushy or slimy like other salespeople we talked to. She has a wonderful way about her- she is kind, funny, cheerful and honest. She seems eager to help, but in a way that engenders trust, familiarity and friendship. All salespeople working on commission should be more like Ty. We were so lucky to get to work with her.
