I leased my Hyundai Kona N-Line in 2022.
I leased my Hyundai Kona N-Line in 2022. It was not long past Covid and my local dealer in New London did not have what I wanted in stock. I found my car on the showroom floor at Shoreline. I was very well taken care of by several of the sales staff and financial manager at the time. I turned my car in on Saturday with very low miles (14,500). I originally was going to return it in New London out of convenience but they weren't willing to "buy" it by allowing me to avoid paying the end fees. I knew that with such low miles, there must be some equity. I went to Shoreline after speaking to Sam and Ryan offered to "buy" the car and save me the return fees. I feel that I was treated very well both times. As I was sitting waiting for my ride home, I was able to observe all of the sales staff doing their work. Everyone who walked by me made sure I was taken care of and offered assistance if I needed anything. I left a little bit sad to leave my Kona behind but Shoreline left me feeling like I wanted to thank them for such great service.

I give them 5 stars in sales and in service .
I give them 5 stars in sales and in service . I had brought my vehicle in for service and ended up getting a call from kayla before I came in telling me about the pull ahead program so i entertained the idea and went over to sales to look at a new elantra where I was met by pete. He worked with Mike canty to get me the best numbers to fit my budget and it was seemless. Give the new ownership and management a shot they are great over here now

Shoreline Hyundai sold me a 2020 Kia Telluride in March
Shoreline Hyundai sold me a 2020 Kia Telluride in March 2023. It was a big purchase for our family, and my husband and I went to see it two or three times, asking ALL the questions before deciding to go for it. It had low mileage, the size we wanted and the salesman said it was in “mint condition, no accidents reported on the carfax” Fast forward to three months later - the car has been in the shop for the better part of us owning it. The Kia specialist working on it (at another dealership) lets us know that the “major” accident our car was involved in 2020 is the reason for all of the problems. He also assesses the car at nearly 20K less than what we purchased it as a result of the accident we were lied to about. After an entire week of Shoreline Hyundai admitting no fault, we had to get our attorney involved for them to finally agree to purchase the car back for what we paid. This last month (December 2023) I have called at least a dozen times to receive a copy of the bill of sale for this vehicle, as the town I live in is sending me a tax bill for it. It took an entire month to provide this to me. I will NEVER do business here again, and implore anyone thinking about going to Shoreline Hyundai, DON’T! This is a car dealership that gives them all a bad rap. They will cheat and lie to get a sale at your expense.

Sketchy, shady, dishonest and untrustworthy.
Sketchy, shady, dishonest and untrustworthy. Buying my car was an okay experience but after the fact, it was nothing but brutal. My car was sold to me with safety issues and when I brought it in about a month after buying it, an inspection was done and service said everything was great and good! Just last week I took it to another dealer for an oil change and MANY safety issues were found with it. Not sure how you can sell a car without a safety inspection….. you completely took advantage of a young girl buying her first car. When I called about the issue, I was rudely hung up on by the dealer manager and my situation was not understood. He was not willing to help and literally said “what do you want me do about that?”. Pete sold me the car and from the other review, I see he has not changed a bit. I will not be recommending this dealership and I hope you learn from your mistakes and being dishonest with your customer, not smart business.

The worst experience at any dealership ever!
Bought a 2023 Santa Cruz Limited from this dealership in Old Saybrook Connecticut. Drove the car to Florida for the winter at about 4000 miles and the audio completely died on the vehicle. Had a dealer diagnose in Florida, they stated the amplifier was bad and they could reboot it but it needed to be replaced. Since they were on national backorder it would take awhile (this is a know issue with these vehicles). Now back in Connecticut, we made an appointment to get it fixed. The service manager ordered the part. I went in today to have it replaced and a different service manager Alana Church informed me that since it is working at the moment she could not replace it. I asked her why the other manager told me it was to be fixed and he ordered the part, her response was and i quote " That is why he no longer works here"! So they fired the guy because he was fixing peoples cars? In addition to the Amp the AWD warning light has been coming on, I even had a picture of it on on my way to the dealership. Here response was no codes found, the next time it comes on drive to dealership and leave running. Seriously? So basically I spent 2 hours there and got nothing resolved. As we were discussing this, I was in the waiting room seated never got up she was standing. We were having a normal level conversation, of course i was not happy, I nerver raised my voice or even got up from the chair. The General manager comes over to me and tells me its time to leave (I had not even been given my keys back yet). He informed me that he was not going to let me continue to abuse his employees, I was still sitting in the chair. In the meantine Alana came over to me and handed me the keys and paperwork with no hassle or hesitation. I got up took them and headed for the door. On my way out I did caution a prospective customer and her mother with "Enjoy the car but good luck getting it fixed here when something goes wrong with it"! The GM then came running outy the door and physically threatened me as I was looking for my car! I even asked him if he was threating me physically to which he responded yes, and he was going to take care of me but good! I did not wish to get into any altercation let alone physical so I found the car got in and left. I guess he was abit pissed that maybe I cost them a sale "I pray with all I got those ladies got up and left, for thier sake as well as mine!" And the GM informed me that I was to never comeback there??? Bought a 43K vehicle there and you tell you cant fix it and will not service it in the future.

I have been thinking about the best way to positively respond for weeks. We are sorry for your experience. Many customers have found what we have, that a poor reivew means "the dealer didn't hear my concerns, help me correct the situation" so the review gets the managers flashing siren attention. You never identified yourself, so it's hard to correct what we don't know. Don't hesitate to call me, CJ @ (860) 577-6030. If you want us to improve the situation, we'll listen you you absolutely. If your goal was to punish us with a 1 star review without anyway of knowing you, you succeeded. If the desired outcome is a better result, call me. Thank you again for your business, we want to earn back your trust.
Terrible Service Experience
I was traveling through Connecticut and stopped at Shoreline Hyundai to have my tires rotated. The service manager presented me with a list of repairs he said my vehicle needed that came to over $1,200.00. Something smelled fishy about this guy so I waited until I got home and brought my vehicle to my local Hyundai dealer. They told me that none of the repairs Shoreline said I needed were necessary. The only work Shoreline Hyundai did for me was the tire rotation. Unfortunately they did not tighten the lug nuts on the tires sufficiently. Two of the lug nuts fell off the tires and several of the other lug nuts were loose and ready to fall off. This place is a disaster!
