Shady
Went in to purchase a vehicle, test drove the vehicle, liked it, offered them their asking price and wanted top Kelly Blue Book trade in value on our vehicle. All was good so far. After a verbal agreement the sales person, Patric, said the price was $100 more because of an "anti-theft" inscribing add on. We refused because that should have already been included on the asking price . . . so far no problem other than now our guard is slightly elevated. Problem #2 and deal breaker! They asked for our car keys so they could look at it, then they took the car for a drive without asking for our permission . . . (unprofessional and now our guard is more elevated). After test driving our car, one of their staff raised the hood and was looking at ??, we were not next to them but could see them from our vantage from inside the office. Patric comes to us and shows us a picture of an oil dipstick and said it was ours and that the dipstick was covered in foam . . . and said that it is likely due to a blown head gasket that is allowing coolant and water into the engine's oil. Other than that the car was in great shape but they would have to knock $500 off of our trade in value. Upon looking at the picture closer, it did not even look like our dipstick, different color and also a different style. Ours looks like a thick metal cable with a RED plastic measuring portion on the final 2-3" at the base. Their picture had an orange piece on it, could not tell if it was the top handle or the bottom and their pictured dipstick was very wide. I went out to look at our oil dipstick and it was clean, the oil registering on the bottom was clear (as it only had about 1000 miles of use and we always use full synthetic oil) and completely free of any foam or frothing. The bottom of the oil cap had no foam or frothing. When confronted their response was they just took the picture. I explained the disparities and that it clearly was not from our vehicle. I asked them why there was no foam registering now and they said they had cleaned it off after taking the picture (hmmmm ?), I confronted them on the difference in color and style . . . off course they could not back down now. I explained that we always check our oil and maintain it and had NEVER had any indication of this issue . . . plus the car drove great. I said I would drive the car and check the oil to see if it would duplicate the foaming . . . they had no problem with us leaving and I feel it was because they got caught with their pants down after trying to scam a customer and knocking $500 off of their trade-in. After driving for 40 minutes in our vehicle . . . no foam at all! After driving our vehicle 3 times over the next 2 days, no foam! When I called to complain, Patric, still tried to stand by his fake picture and fake diagnosis . . . his comment was "why would we do this" . . . my response was to obviously know down the trade in price so as to put more money in your pocket. As they are located in Bellevue and selling luxury vehicles you would think reputation is important . . . unfortunately their reputation with us is shot, how could we ever buy anything from them after this attempted cheap, poorly thought out scam, how insulting it was. I hope others have not fallen victim to this. Just a side note, when calling to tell them that we would be 10 minutes late for our appointment, their office number forwarded to a cell phone number which offered no chance to leave a message. Moments later Patric returned our call and gave, without us asking for it, a reason as to why he was calling back from a different number and why it was forwarded. I thought nothing of it. But after sitting in the office, for about an hour, and never hearing the phone ring and seeing the other sales person sitting their with no leads and no business . . . AND after the very shady experience we had . . . now I wonder . . . dear owner and fellow sales personnel . . . are you also getting scammed?

Update: We found the same vehicle, 17 Audi Q3, and purchased it at a different lot. The vehicle was identical with a few differences, the vehicle we purchased had half the miles, only 19,040 and the one we purchased had AWD vs only front wheel drive. After checking and driving our trade in vehicle, the new mechanic gave it a strong review . . . AND there was NO FOAM on the oil dipstick (again, what a scam). We paid $500 more for the car we purchased but got $1000 more for our trade in vs what Patric offered us with his fake dipstick picture. Net savings of $500 and very happy with our new vehicle and the sales person who helped us. Definitive Motors had some really nice cars on their lot . . . but I would double and triple check all the terms and negotiations . . . as for us we will never step foot on that lot again.
One of the better Dealer experiences.
One of the better dealerships I've worked with over the last 20 years. No pressure, just above-board negotiation to reach an amicable deal that works - very rare these days and although the process can drag on a bit (its the same everywhere, paperwork), Patric did his best to move it along. Cars are clean, as is the office. Staff all seemed friendly, there's a level of trust you feel from the staff and nobody from Sales is hanging on you like a wet blanket, asking "what it will take to put you into a car today" - that's not how Definitive Motors works - very refreshing experience, especially as a smaller dealer. Would go back, and will recommend.

Disappointment after disappointment
I don't usually like to post negative reviews for small business, but with this one I am forced to. To start of, I spent 6+ months looking for a car, and when I came across Definitive Motors, I decided to buy a car from them due to it being small family owned dealership so I thought you'd get dedicated customer service and be treated like family. Their staff, Patrick & Dru are very professional and I sincerely enjoyed my experience with them. I found the car I liked and we worked out a deal. They mentioned a couple of times that they only purchase top of the line cars that they inspect and make sure are cars they'd own themselves. So I just trusted them and didn't inspect the car- I thought they have great reputation, they highly rated online, and when you look at their lot you'll notice they indeed only have top of the line luxury cars. So we agree on price, APR...etc and I blindly signed all the paperwork and left extremely excited in my 2009 BMW 650i. This was on 1/11/2019. For the following week I got a lot of mail from banks who either declined to lend me or updated their terms or whatever. Normal. Big issue #1 When we agreed on a price and interest rate, I signed the papers and trusted that what we agreed on is what I am signing so i didn't pay much attention. A week later I get a call from the credit union I am financed through to get my account set up, and during that conversation, I found that my loan was at a higher APR than we agreed and shook on. I rushed home to look at the paperwork i signed, and it indeed had a higher interest rate than we agreed on. So I contact the dealership and they apologized and said they'll fix it (shady?) They ask me to come by to sign new paperwork reflecting the correct APR. I signed took my copy. Few days later I get a letter in the mail confirming the receipt of the final payment on my 2009 650i??? and a day or two later, I get a call from the credit union congratulating me on my 2015 BMW? xxx! That was in February- and I started getting notification that lenders are checking my credit report and started receiving all these letters from banks explaining why they had declined my request or updated their terms and conditions AGAIN. When I checked with Definitive motors on what is going on, they said nothing those are just letters from my first loan request. I don't think so... They were all dated 2/1/19 and were from the same banks i received letters from two weeks earlier. Issue #2 It's been almost two months and about 1,000 miles since I purchased the car, and I've had to take it to the mechanic two times due to check engine light already. First time, coils went bad and needed to be replaced & second time due engine coolant leak (still haven't fixed it) but I have to top of my coolant every other day and wherever I park it leaves a big puddle. There is also noise coming from the rear driver side wheel- sounds like the car is limping. This by far, has been the worst BMW I have ever owned and I've only owned it for less than 3 months. I honestly get nervous EVERY single morning when I start it to go to work fearing that something else will go wrong. Issue #3 The car exterior is not in as good of a shape as I expected it to be. When I purchased it in January it was rainy and cloudy- now that I see it in the sunlight, scratches, dents, and non-matching paint. They did include a detail i can redeem in the Spring time, but it was just very disappointing to see a BMW with 50k miles in this shape. This is my 4th BMW (& newest) & definetley the one in worst shape out of all I've owned. To conclude, If I could go back in time, I wouldn't purchase a car from here and recommend that if you chose to, do yourself a favor and have the car professionally inspected before you buy it & pay close attention to what your signing.. A car is a very big purchase for most people, and that is the only reason I took the time to write this review. Don't repeat my mistake! Do your duedeligence before committing to a big purchase like this, and don't take anyone's word--

Staff was extremely knowledgeable!
I bought my Q5 at Definitive Motors a couple of months. We worked with Drew who was extremely knowledgeable about the different cars and super helpful - he made the entire process streamlined and easy (never thought I would say that about a car dealership!). The car has been great and I absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend Definitive Motors and their team, and would buy another car from them in the future.

Only 1 person was decent
09/24/2018: I would have given a 5-star rating if it weren't for their Financial Manager, David, and whoever was responsible for driving my car on the express lane the day after I traded in my car. We signed all of the paperwork and a few days later I received a call from David telling me that I need to resign the papers because they made a mistake on the interest rate. I was told that the interest rate is actually 1% higher! He didn't apologize until I made sure he knew I was upset, then he apologized. He has zero customer service skills. Then, I received a bill from "WSDOT - Good To Go" because apparently someone decided to get on the express lane. The cameras caught the license plate number, WSDOT sent me the bill because the car was still registered to me! The only one I liked dealing with at this place was Dru Cordner. 5 stars for him. 5 stars for the car. BUT 1 star for the rest! 10/24/2019: I am downgrading this review from 3 stars to 1 star. I received another bill from "WSDOT-Good To Go" because someone apparently used the express lane AGAIN! Are they just that stupid to not know the rules? Or they just don't care since they hadn't transferred the registration and they wouldn't need to pay the toll fee? Total disregard for their customers. They're all smiles when you try to buy a car from them, then they just don't care once you step out of their lot! 2 hours later: I called and asked for the manager. David was the one who answered and said he's a manager. I told him about the 2nd WSDOT letter. He said it's because I didn't call the Dept of Licensing to report my car sold. I have had 5+ cars traded in previously and I had never had to call DOL to report my car sold, because the dealership always had to do all of that. David said "well then you got lucky". Yup rudeness at its finest.
