Jenkins of Homosassa is fairly new (for this dealership)

Jenkins of Homosassa is fairly new (for this dealership) but they knocked it out of the park. We came in because we got an offer notice for our 2017 Pathfinder and they gave us a buy estimate. We were very specific, yes we would sell them our car if they could get the exact car I wanted: color, options etc. They tried for several hours and then found the car we loved. From the Sales Manager, to the sales person they were great. So attentive but not high pressure. Willing to do what it took to get our business. We're so glad we bought from Jerkins of Homosassa.

Frontier Window price $42k.

Frontier Window price $42k. Negotiated price in Jan '23 for new '22 agreed @ $38k. Dealer presented payment schedule @ 0% interest, so $/mo looked fine to us! Soon admitted error (6.75%) and dropped price $1k "as an apology to keep the deal." Price now $37k. Closing contract shows ONLY "price including tax" @ $43,537.61. BRING YOUR OWN CALCULATOR & USE IT: Actual contract price = $41k. 42k-4k-1k=37k, not $41k. Take phone pictures of every paper in your negotiation!! We were promised $37k then charged $41k. Lower in contract see $995 "predelivery service charge."

I'm in the process of car buying and was going to save

I'm in the process of car buying and was going to save all of my reviews until the end so you could see the positive and negatives reviews together, but Maus Nissan of Crystal River has set such a new low for me that I had to take time to describe this experience while my memory is fresh. If I could rank this into negative stars, I would. I have extensive experience buying vehicles and I was FLOORED by this dealership's tactics. I initially dealt with Chriss Cross followed by Jeffrey Paoli - based on this experience, they could have the last water available on this planet and I would refuse to buy from them. First, a bit about my car buying practices. I emailed Maus to ask for their rock bottom internet quote to determine if I wanted to come in. I do this with every car I buy, explaining that I hate going back and forth and don't have time or desire to talk on the phone. About 80% of car dealerships do this with no hassle, another 10-15% badger me for a phone number and 5% or so never respond back. The latter two groups are cleared off my list and then I typically choose from the 80% that responded with what are generally similar quotes which are anywhere from $500-$6000 under MSRP for car price alone. I then remove dealerships that heavily pad their fees, add large "Car Care Packages" or ones that have employed questionable practices based on the many dealership and sales person reviews I read. In all of my previous dealings (not inclusive of Maus), I have rarely had issues with the final quote being above MSRP, even from the worst quotes I receive. I knew immediately that this was not going to go well when they had their "Market Value" as their starting price rather than MSRP. In this case, the starting price that they claimed was "Market Value" was $56.5K - right at 9K over the MSRP! They then gave me $8K as a discount to quote for cost of the vehicle ($1K over MSRP) - this was before the taxes and their dealership's heavily padded fees was added in. I should note that while this is a car has some popularity - it is not a heavily in demand, rare car in Florida, even in the color I want. The price point puts it against the Volvo XC60, Buick Enclave and Audi Q5, to name a few. I gave Chriss the benefit of the doubt and told him that I thought he made a mistake because their best quote for the vehicle was $1K over MSRP (without taxes, registration and fees). When he informed me that there was no mistake, I initially responded with "Ok, no thanks". Then Chriss hit me with the email declaring that they like to be transparent and hate the back and forth and asked what was it going to take to earn my business. I told them that "had they been somewhere in a reasonable ballpark, I could tell them what they could do to earn my business and they were clearly overcharging." At this point, Jeffrey jumped in and tried to sell me on the benefits of their Maus Car Package that came with the car and was responsible for their elevated "rock bottom" price. He informed me that they "feel that $1000 over MSRP is a very reasonable amount" and then tried to school me on how car buying works. I signed off my reply with "Take me off of your list". This morning I woke to a third person (Chase Hite, General Sales Manager) who wanted to know why I didn't buy a car. I told him that I had been very clear why I was not buying a car from them and briefly told him about the experience because he needed to know how his dealership was being represented - I have gotten nothing back but crickets. At this point, I can only conclude that this is their typical M.O. There are some really good car dealers in the State. I will be writing reviews over the next few weeks about good experience with Nissan, Audi, and Buick dealers (and well as some that are not so good). When there are choices in life, I recommend educating yourself about who is likely to treat you the way they would want to be treated. We want good deals but know that dealers do have to make a living - educate yourself both on when you are being asked for too much and when you are being unreasonable. It is in that sweet spot that buyers walk away happy and dealers aren't encouraged to apply questionable business practices.

Dealer response

Good afternoon, I do hope this finds you well and I will do my best to make this short. Per the market value, this is the absolute best deal on a brand-new vehicle. We pride ourselves on never losing your business over price however I do understand your frustrations. As you said you want a good deal but we do have to make a living. We definitely had a very transparent conversation through texts breaking down the entire price and the Maus Care which is very valuable and was at no charge to you. With that being said, you heard crickets because you had stated if we contact you again it is harassment after you had contacted us first and we answered all questions. We were really doing our best to leave you alone as asked but I did want to answer back to this and clear up any discrepancies there may be. Have a blessed day, Danielle Phelps Owner Loyalty Manager Maus Nissan of Crystal River

Correction to my 10/14/22 post.

Correction to my 10/14/22 post. I didn't mean Torch wrenches. I meant impact tools they use. Which is 180 pounds of pressure!

10/14/22- I had taken my 2019 Titan for just an oil change. I made it clear over the phone and when I got to the dealership, DO NOT ROTATE OR TOUCH MY TIRES!! Mind you I just spent $2, 500 on new rims and tires! Well, did they listen? No! They have damaged my new rims that have only been on my truck for 2 weeks! We have gone through and broken several tools now trying to get the pressure off my rims. Torch wrenches are not to be used. I had a lock nut that they went searching through my vehicle for to do what I told them not to do. My alignment was spot on with new tires and now pulling! Do not take your vehicle to Maus Nissan! Now, who's paying for my new rims? This place is nothing but a headache and breaks more than they can fix! Also I'll be supplying prices on the tools broken during this!

On Tuesday, then 26th of April 2022 my mother-in-law took

On Tuesday, then 26th of April 2022 my mother-in-law took her 2015 Nissan Quest in for an oil change. My wife went with her and they were given a list if maintenance items, the main one being a torn inner CV boot on the passenger side drive axle. I told he to bring it home so I could check it. There was no torn boot but some grease was leaking past the small boot clamp. I called up the service writer and told him. In the meantime I opened the hood and found the hood prop hanging down and its clip missing I know it was there because I had just changed the battery. I called again but the service writer was unavailable. He left a message saying to bring the van in so that they could show me the ripped boot. I wanted to take photos so I jacked the van up again only this time tried to take of the passenger side wheel and found two of the lug nuts hard to get off. I used hand tools for this and when I tried to turn one of the nuts back in the stud broke off. Strike 3. So I left the wheel on. The next day my wife went to the dealer to get the parts. In the meantime I took off the wheel and caliper , mounting assembly and rotor only to find the pads almost down to nothing. The outer pad was at 3mm. With the supposed super inspection that they do why wasn't this found? My wife said that the service writer was nice and professional but I know he has to count on what the tech tells him. This mechanic did sloppy work and tried to sell us stuff we didn't need and didn't find the stuff we did need. If lug nuts don't go on easily you don't force them. The lug nut torque is 85psi and I had to use a hug breaker bar to get them loose. Overtightening lug nuts causes warped rotors which I still have to see after the brake pads I replaced yesterday seat in. So-No torn CV boot. Two damaged wheel lugs. A hood prop clip on order. And front brake pads. NOT COOL! I am never going back to this dealer and will drive miles to avoid doing so. I alsp don't recommend them to anybody else. I have been recertified ASE three times and am not stupid or gullible and I don't appreciate what happened during that visit to Maus Nissan. I took photos of everything, including the CV boot.
