Brought in my 9 year old Mazda CX5 because the navigation
Brought in my 9 year old Mazda CX5 because the navigation screen stopped working. I was told that the repair required a new CMC and SD card costing around $2,000. But the helpful staff was able to get Mazda to cover the cost under an extended warranty claim.

The one positive experience from AutoNation Mazda
The one positive experience from AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad was the Financial Supervisor, Teddy, who understood the issues caused by the sales staff and was the only person who helped us finally meet a resolution in the end. Sales associate, Arian tried his best at being a good sales person. But he should have never resorted to compromising honesty to “close a deal”. My wife and I went into the dealership on a Friday because they had the lowest listed price for a new CX-50 and we knew we were going to purchase one. We were easy customers and did not try to bargain or negotiate a lower price because we knew what we wanted. Arian failed to acknowledge the simplicity in this. Long story short, the CX-50 in the color we wanted was not available and Arian initially assured us that the one we wanted will be ready for us to drive away in as soon as we were done with the paperwork. We started the paperwork and then Arian proceeded to tell us that it actually won’t be ready for us until Tuesday (4 days) now. We were okay with that until Tuesday came around and Arian informed us that our vehicle would not be available until Friday now (7 days). Using the VIN from the car we purchased, we discovered that the vehicle was in transit to AutoNation Carlsbad before we even came in to purchase it. This experience would have been just fine if Arian was upfront and honest from the start. Dishonesty outweighed their kind gesture of allowing us to drive a loaner vehicle. What’s worse is that the general manager, Sonny, supported this deceiving dealership operation. It gets worse… We finally got our vehicle and when signing the final paperwork, I noticed the VIN did not match the car we were about to leave with. AutoNation Mazda of Carlsbad is a poor representation of the Mazda brand. I’ve supported the Mazda brand for over 20 years and will not be returning to this dealership for any business. Almost three months later and we still dealt with conflicts regarding this dealership’s error with the VIN. It’s takes upper level supervision at this dealership to mend the mistakes of their associates. If you’re ready to deal with that, this is the dealership for you!

The experience at this dealership compared to the (14 others ) | dealt with while shopping for 2 PHEV vehicles, one a BMW X5 and this Mazda CX90, was by far THE BEST. These people are "real" and if you know your numbers they respect your requests and deliver them without that ridiculous haggling you get most other places. We drove 145 miles round trip to buy from here and it was worth it, even with a cloudy beach day, we didn't mind at all.
