Write a reviewBought a new van in 2017.
Bought a new van in 2017. In 2019 the headliner flooded due to leaky seals (all of them) to the point that water was dripping into cupholders. The body shop dried it out, replaced the seals, and sent me on my way. They DIDNT tell me that a flooded vehicle actually had to be totaled. Nor did they check the wiring which was also flooded. In fact, I only just learned, today, that they should have totaled the vehicle as it is now potentially dangerous to drive. Two years later, the drivers window was intermittently pausing. I told them it seemed electrical in nature but they refused to look into that. They wanted me to buy a motor for it for $1500. Then the climate control knob burned off. I told them to check the electrical, as only electrical current could cause the knob to burn like that. They said no...it was all just a coincidence. I had to buy a whole new climate control system. Then I noticed that the dome light receptacle was burned. Again, they said it couldn't be electrical. But when the van stranded me on the side of the road for loss of power, the first thing they checked was the electrical. Yes, the grounding strap that is also associated with the dome light, climate control, and window had to be replaced. So if they had just checked the electrical system, maybe the problem could have been solved by replacing that grounding strap instead of me spending thousands on replacements. Just FIY...Im fairly certain that the airbag is ALSO at risk because it may also be on that same grounding strap. That's a future accident waiting to happen. Im also fairly certain that if they had just either totaled the vehicle like they supposedly should have, or at least confirmed that all of the circuits were in good condition and not impacted by the flood...well, this wouldn't even be a conversation. Do they just not care that people get hurt in vehicles that are defective? What if it was their own family driving it? Bet they might do the right thing if that were the case. But where the almighty dollar is at stake...nothing is beneath them.

Out of town, out to lunch
By far worst customer service I've had. I'm out of town car broke down and can't even get an answer if they have looked at it yet

Another Amazing Car Buying Expirience
I've now purchased 6 vehicles in my life. All 6 have been GM. All 6 from the same person. The last 3 from Maguire Chevrolet Cadillac. I personally spend way more of my visits throughout the years in the service department at Maguire Caddy. But when it comes to buying a vehicle, there's no where else that I'd consider going. John Walters and the sales management team of Matt and also Kyle K. worked very hard to make sure I got the next vehicle that I wanted. I really appreciate all the effort and have an amazing 2019 Silverado RST 4X4! They made the process very easy and am currently looking to lease a new Traverse for my soon to be bride. Thank you so much John!

Vexing dealership
Apparently no interaction between internet sales and floor sales people. Called floor salesperson on used car listed on internet site. Told me car was available so wife and I made arrangements to drive 75 miles to see next afternoon. We bot took time off work to do so. On a whim, decided to check internet and see if car still available. It wasn't. However there was a freakishly similar car with 30,000 more miles on it now available. When I called to find out 'what gives' floor guy didn't know and spent the next 35 minutes confirming with his internet sales person that the car we were interested in had been sold two days preceding our initial contact. Maguire cost us in lost wages so no more Maguire for us.

Above and beyond
We walked into this dealership knowing we were in need of a newer car than the one I was driving but not knowing much else. Did we want to lease? Purchase new? Purchase a low-mileage pre-owned car? And (minor detail) which type of car? It had been 7 years since we'd been at a car dealership, and pretty much the only thing we could say for sure was we wanted an all-wheel-drive vehicle to improve our chances of getting up Route 96 on an icy day. We met Colby Newlen, and for the next week he showed us options, focused our attention on cars that fit our needs and finances, answered our relentless questions, helped us make comparisons, and waited patiently for us to make a decision. In the end, we found a pre-owned car we liked at another Maguire facility, and Colby came with us to help us buy it. Colby is the kind of salesperson I'd work with again in a heartbeat, because I walked away from the experience happy with my purchase and feeling like I got great information and no heavy-handed sales pitches. If you've got more questions than answers and need a calming salesperson/therapist, Colby's a great choice.

Joan, Thank you so much for the great review! We are so happy to hear of your great experience with Maguire! We hope you continue to enjoy your new vehicle. Thanks!
It can't be this easy!
Bought a 2017 Chevy Cruze from Colby Newlen at Maguire Chevy & Cadillac. They didn't have the pre-owned car I wanted but were confident they could find one for me. A few days later I drove home in my Cruze and in the color I wanted. Didn't know a dealership would do that! Colby and his manager couldn't have made it any easier!!!

No Deal
Couldn't make a deal. Couldn't get down to my monthly payment I would be comfortable with, I mostly blame the high price of vehicles and my crappy credit score, but the salespeople could have done better, seemed to want to push an extended warranty on a 2018 vehicle with 12,000 miles on it, and never quoted me a payment figure without it. Communication could have been better, they didn't get back to me for 5 days to let me know what was going on, when he finally did he quoted the same figure he gave me when I was up there (from 2 hours away I might add). Finance manager was supposed to be working on a better figure, but I never heard from him. Too bad we couldn't do anything, I liked the place for the most part .

Jeff, We are so sorry to hear that you had that experience. We have let the General Manager of the store know about what happened. We strive to have the best possible experience and again we are sorry to hear you had a less than perfect experience. We hope you have a great day.
2004 Cadillac Research
We drove from Lafayette to get another opinion as to the shudder that we have been experiencing since April when we got new tires and are SO grateful for all of the patience and care Jeff took to diagnose our problem. We have been going from service center to service center since April and the local dealer as well as the others have all had us "spinning our wheels." Doug was so kind and thoughtful of me as I sat in the waiting area. I was determined to get a truthful answer and Macguire came through!! It WAS the new tires that had caused all of the problems! After months of running around getting random things 'fixed' that never needed fixing, we got upgraded tires put on and our 'couch' experience has returned!! Thanks to all of you at Macguire for your kindness, care, concern, and low price for all of the work you did!! It is much appreciated! We are telling all of our friends of our great experience and encouraging all to take the short, beautiful ride to Ithaca for the best service around!

Bev, We are so happy you had a great experience with Maguire!
Good customer service
I bought my 2012 Chevy Equinox there new, but usually have routine service done elsewhere. I brought my car in today for a squeaking noise when turning the steering wheel. It is electronic power steering and does not user power steering fluid so I knew it wasn't that. I had made an early morning appointment and had planned to leave the car. I told them I only wanted a diagnosis and to check with me before doing any repairs. When describing the problem I told them that all they needed to do was get in the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth and they could hear the noise themselves. The young woman at the service counter offered to have me wait while they took a quick look. 30 minutes later she came to the waiting room to get me and said I was all set. The steering wheel "boot" needed lubing, which they did, and sent me on my way free of charge! As far as I can tell after several miles of driving, the problem is resolved. I have been there a few times over the last few years and they never try to sell me anything that is unrelated to what I came for. I didn't love my buying experience 5 years ago, but so far their service has been very good. - KS
