I purchased a used SUV from this dealership and the sales team could not be better. But the service department is lacking. We were told that the car had... been gone through thoroughly in the service department or it would not be on the lot. But truth to be told, the SUV was 3.5 quarts low in motor oil, and the breather cover was broken with the air filter sticking out. Of course I had all this fixed on my $$$ when it should had been corrected while they were servicing prior to sell. I also told the service manager and all was said, He was going to see who did the service on the SUV at least they could had offered to pay me back..
I found a car I liked on Friday, test drove it, thought about it for a couple of days. On Monday I let my sales girl Arielle know that I would be there... by noon to finalize my purchase. When I got there she had all my paper work ready and it was such an easy and pleasant process. Bobby Ford the Manager and Chris who finished my title paperwork were both wonderful. I usually don't go to dealerships but the next time I need to purchase a car I will definitely come back here. They even removed my DVD players from my headrest out of my trade in at no extra cost. Thank you all so much!

This was by far the quickest and easiest car buying experience I've ever had. I found the car I wanted online, they reached out to me immediately. They... were upfront with the pricing and even beat another dealer's price by a few more dollars (every penny counts). When I arrived, everyone was courteous and prompt. My salesman went over all of the paperwork and details of the vehicle. In total, I was in and out in no more than an hour! Highly recommend this team!
My truck had a Takata airbag recall, so I booked an appointment at this dealership four days prior. I was assured they had the items and could complete... the repair in 1-2hrs. I arrived 10 minutes early and checked in. 23 min later, I get a phone call that says they do not have the parts necessary to complete the repair. The reasons given were as follows: 1. We thought we had the part in inventory, but we don't. 2. We ordered additional parts, but they won't be in until next week. 3. The inventory was incorrect in our system. Verdict: I'm driving around in a car with a killer airbag because of incompetence at McKenney Salinas-Gastonia. I am very disappointed. They can look me up. I had the first appointment on Saturday, 11/24/18.
Before going to dealership I got pre approved for auto loan through a credit union. Sales manager seemed to have an attitude after finding out I wasn’t... gonna finance with a company the we’re trying to offer. After, signing all paperwork for car the sales manager said the car couldn’t be released to me until they received check from finance company... I’ve bought plenty of cars and that was the first time I’ve ever heard anything like that. Jake Green the salesman told me since I was on a tight work schedule that he would personally drive the car to me after receiving the check (LIAR)... they called the next day saying they received the check and I asked jake if he was bringing the car he said he would have to ask his boss must I remind you the day before he said he would drive the car to me once he received check from finance company... finally, I noticed a whining noise coming from the supposedly Honda certified car I purchased... Noise started a day after driving the car to work. Probably was making noise before I purchased and didn’t notice it because I ride with my music blasting. Ended up taking car to renaldo Honda to find out the tension pulley was going bad. McKinney Salinas gave me a list of supposedly new parts they replaced on the Honda certified car I purchased how did they not hear the whining noise???? I wouldn’t suggest this car lot to anyone.
I've purchased five vehicles from Eddie at McKenney-Salinas Honda. All have been excellent vehicles, a couple were for my kids. our latest purchase saved... us quite bit of money and we got a better vehicle than the one we looked at. We have Eddie to thank for that. He's a Christian man who lives Christian principles in the work place and that means honesty and fairness. I recommend my kids and others to buy their car through Eddie for a easy and pleasant experience.
Their Sales folks can be difficult to negotiate with, and forget about after purchase support. Once you purchase the car, they know they won't be making... any money off you anytime soon, and their level of post sale support reflects that fact. To say my purchasing experience with them was disappointing would be an extreme understatement.
It took half a day to get a response and then they called me just to say the vehicle had been sold.
Working with Ted Anderson and staff at McKenney Salinas Honda could not have been a better experience. They took the pressure out of buying a used car.... They have removed the back and forth of the sales person trying to buy a car like in the pass. The 2014 Pilot we purchased was priced fairly. We had been looking for a car for many months and knew this was a good deal. We are a repeat buyer from this dealership. It took us 12 years and 260,000 miles on the 2004 Pilot to return. I can only hope that this Pilot will serve us as well. Good maintenance is the key to keeping a car running this long and also it was a Honda. We had a few items added to the Pilot and they were very accommodating on the installation and pricing. The install went in a timely manner. Thank you Chris. The financing was also easy and no pressure to buy the warranties. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.
