Our vehicle was on a tow truck within the first weeks of purchase. They told me "it's used" (not cert pre owned?). Ridiculed/yelled at... by the "manager" discussing fix. Car going back to shop now AGAIN for items that would be typically checked by honest dealerships that follow Toyota's true quality assurance inspection program. Also, purchase process was 4 hours and I'm sad to say i fell for one of the old tricks of a shady salesman initialing monthly cost negotiation before purchase. negotiate bottom line cost. we went through entire (real) process again with finance. ONLY non shady person was Jess Wehri - Finance guy. super nice guy. Adam's lost future return business with me.
Experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I went in the other day to look at a car. After the test drive, the salesperson, although nice, said he would... get back to me with an appraisal on my car but after a day and a half never did so I reached out to him. I told him how much cash I had to work with upfront and asked if could get me into the car I was looking at between that and my trade. He said “oh I can definitely work with that” so I went in to see him. He made us think he could work with our budget and assured us we would not have to finance because we made it very clear we wanted to pay cash only. He asked to run my credit and I asked why since we weren’t financing. He said it was to make sure that when I wrote my check it would go through. After he ran my credit and saw how great it was, all of a sudden the amount I wanted to pay cash along with my trade was not enough and they wanted several thousand more. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere to buy a brand new car, cash, like we wanted for the same amount they wanted for a used car. I was upfront to begin with and if they were too, I wouldn’t have wasted my time coming in a second time to have my credit run for no good reason.
Let me tell you a story of a young man in 1980 that walked in a Raytown dealer for his first new car and taken for a ride he has talked about for years.... First we cut a deal. Not a good deal but I agreed. When I come to pick it up they tell me my trade went down $200 over night. Then when it had to be towed in for service under warranty they wanted to flip a coin to see who would pay for it. I didn't agree. Every time I was to buy a new Toyota I would go there first and before I left I told this story and explained why I was not going to buy from Adams. Jump to 2013. Came in one more time to do the same when the salesman explained he was not alive at the time of the first screwing. So I bought a new Tundra and like all of my Toyota products it is great. Then after 33,000 miles the 02 sensors went out. It was after my warranty was up but even the parts dept. at Adams said it shouldn't go out that early. Of course service wanted $530 to replace them. $300 for parts and $230 to screw them in and me over. Last straw.
I went to Adam's Toyota in Lee's Summit Mo, and Alberto was the salesman that helped me and my husband purchase the new vehicle. He went above and beyond... since we were not sure what vehicle we were going to buy. He is trilingual and he is a Top salesman! From Finance Services everyone at that location is outstanding great customer service in all areas. Alberto also offered to schedule the first oil change in my new car. I would definitely recommend any services at Adam's.
Purchased a new Camry from Deshawn and he had the best knowledge of the Camry than any other dealer we visited. He was very efficient and the guy who did... our final paperwork was great. Thanks
Number 10 to Alberto he is the best salesman at that location! He treats his customers with respect and answers any questions in regardless the sales.... Loyal and friendly.
I said 15 years ago that I would never buy from Ray Adams because he is an arrogant (fill in the blank). Back then they tried to sell me a car I didn’t... want and when I turned him down, he said don’t wast his time. Well, I was dealing with a sales guy that I really liked on a car and was going to buy. I told them before I even came in that I was firm on my numbers from all sides and that I would buy if they matched up. Insert sales manager- the guy had the nerve to actually use profanity in front of my daughter in an attempted loud whisper when he tried to lowball what I told them I was firm on. I made it pretty clear what I would and would not do but once again, they wasted an hour of my family’s time. He did not like that he could not manipulate me. Then when the sales manager didn’t like that he could not pressure me, he literally got up and walked away. No hand shake, sorry, nothing! Most arrogant, give two rips about the customer type dealership I have ever encountered. There are so many more options out there that I would rather pay more money for a car and drive further away than ever buy from this place.
I had new brakes put on my car and although it put a huge dent in my bank account the staff was great. Tyler was respectful and courteous and never pressured... me into making the purchase. Keep up the great work Tyler!
Adams Toyota is a great place Very friendly and knowledgeable associates.l Courteous service when needed with a relaxing atmosphere. It is a great business... for Lees Summit and the community
A note to thank you for the great service I received when I came in for a tire light on. A young man came out right away, checked all 4 tires (including... the spare) and put air in all of them on the spot without me even having to leave my vehicle! I would say I was in and out of there within 15 minutes tops! A manager even came out to greet me and help the young man working on my vehicle. Best of all, this was done free of charge! I love my Toyota and appreciate the excellent service.
