First of all this review has nothing to do with my

First of all this review has nothing to do with my salesperson and EVERYTHING THING TO DO WITH THE USED CAR MANAGER DERRICK! I bought a used Tahoe couple of weeks ago and we knew we were going to have some repairs happen later on down the road. The repairs started the next day! The next day the thermostat went out. No big deal my fiancé used to work for Chevy and he fixed it. The next repair happened 3 days later and this time the vehicle completely shut off no power whatsoever. I got it towed to Fred Anderson Chevrolet (shoutout to them for fast service) where they diagnosed the issue and said that the Tahoe needed new battery cables!!! So here we are just bought this thing and not even a week into it we’ve spent around $1000! I called Derrick and asked him if this deal was funded where he seemed baffled I asked that. He said “THIS AINT WALMART” and told me I couldn’t return a vehicle. Even though this vehicle at the time I asked was completely DEAD!!! He said to let him know what Fred Anderson diagnosed and so when I called he was off and NO ONE wanted to help!! I asked for the GM and got transferred to another salesperson named Lee??? No one called me back. Then I got told I would have to pay for the tow to get it to their dealership and they would “TRY” to fix it!!!! I was also promised a second key which I told my salesperson we were on the way he let management know. They told him to tell us the guy would come out to us and gave us a number to call! We were already halfway there so I really feel like they are trying to avoid us at this point. NOW MY CAR ISN’T PAID OFF AND I ESIGNED THIS DEAL SO IT FUNDED RIGHT AWAY! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH USED CAR MANAGER DERRICK CAMP!!

Not a Good Experience

What at first seemed like a good experience, turned negative within two weeks. Can’t say enough positive things about Manny, our sales rep, he was great. We came in on a Saturday, test drove a vehicle, liked it so agreed to purchase. We paid 60% cash and the rest personal check. Were not told anything about a policy concerning the time before we would actually receive title. Since it was a weekend, I understood that it might be the next business day before they would process everything. We were keeping insurance on a vehicle we sold just to be able to transfer the tag. Thought a few days before we received the title would be ok. When it wasn’t received by the end of the week, I called and the finance mgr assured me that they usually send it within 7-10 days and when asked if he meant business days, he assured me no, just 10 days. Still didn’t receive it the following week. I was actually in town on that Thursday and called and spoke with Karen, someone sorely lacking in customer etiquette, who very rudely said “no, you cannot pick it up”. She stated that while it was ready, the GMs policy said no paperwork for 14 business days. She said she would overnight it Friday. Didn’t get it until Monday. I checked the tracking number for drop off time and seems she didn’t send it until 6:30 pm Friday night. Guess that was her way of showing me “who’s boss”. So during this time, the check engine light came on. We also discovered the gas cap was completely wrong for the vehicle. We realize this is just our tough luck because we bought a used vehicle with no warranty. We drove an hour to deal with Boyd but never again.

Thank you for the kind words about Manny. He truly is a wonderful person and a valued asset to our dealership. We do apologize for any miscommunication regarding title delivery. We have since reviewed internally to ensure consistent messaging moving forward. We appreciate your business and look forward to better serving you in the future. Shop elsewhere. Nothing but trouble.

I highly recommend staying far away from this location while in the market for a vehicle. From the day I bought my vehicle to now, I’ve had nothing but issues. I believe I was taken advantage as a young female shopping for a vehicle alone... and sold a vehicle of which they knew had issues and sold it to me “as is” knowing they could push those problems off on me. All they care about is making their money and the fact they say they “strive for customer satisfaction” is a huge joke. I have nothing good to say about Boyd, and will make sure I get this review onto as many platforms as I can to steer people away from dealing with this money hungry dealership.

Dealer response

Ms. Devine, We are posting this same reply for each social media post you have made: We are sorry to hear you are having issues with the 2007 Jeep you bought from us in November of 2019. That vehicle being 13-years-old and having more than 100,000 miles was out of its manufacturer’s warranty and at the time of sale you declined the additional mechanical breakdown coverages offered to you. However, you were given a 3-month, 3000-mile powertrain warranty at no additional cost. When you came to us with your engine light on, we replaced the catalytic converter and both O2 sensors. Those repairs totaled $1942 and the dealership paid it entirely. From our perspective, we had gone above and beyond to make things right. Furthermore, you made no mention of any mechanical problems when you offered to sell the Jeep back to us in June of this year. While we are sympathetic to your situation, we as a dealership cannot continue to be held responsible for the repairs on a 13-year-old vehicle with over 100k miles when you declined any additional mechanical breakdown coverages. We respectfully hope that you are able to repair your Jeep to your expectations. Sincerely, Boyd Chevrolet Cadillac Buick

They don't stand by the cars they sell.

TLDR: They don't stand by the cars they sell, and neither should you. I purchased a used car from here 05/01/2020, ended up leaving the dealership around 6, 6:30pm with my 2016 Ford Focus, just under 80k miles. I drove home, 33 miles away, and drove 12 miles to work the next day. Leaving work at 3pm, the check engine light came on. I had split payment up over two days - about a third on the spot and the rest on Monday. EVEN WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON THAT QUICKLY, I STILL STOOD BY MY AGREEMENT AND PAID. I called the dealership. They told me service dept was closed, asked who my salesman was. It was Mark Brown who was 'off celebrating his anniversary', told me to call back Monday. Called back Monday, they gave me a Tuesday appointment. On Tuesday, at my appointment, they told me it was an evaporation leak that wasn't a safety issue, and asked me to take it to a Ford dealership to get advice for handling it, gave me his card (Steven) and told me to call back. I was busy with work, so the soonest I could go to the Ford dealership near me was today, 05/19/2020. The service rep there was great, told me in detail about the codes from the check engine light, and what it was going to cost to have them fixed. On calling Steve, I was told I needed to speak to the sales managers about it, because the purge valve and the catalytic converter that was clogged (because of the leaking valve) wasn't covered by the powertrain warranty. So he put me through to Mikey. Keeping in mind that this was an issue LESS THAN 24 HOURS after I left their lot, Mikey told me they would cover the purge valve, but wouldn't do anything about the catalytic converter. Ford priced me at $1500 to fix that, but an estimate at a nearby muffler shop got me down to about $400 for a fix. But that doesn't matter. Because they sold it AS IS, and because I didn't pay for an extended warranty, Boyd Chervrolet Cadillac Buick doesn't care. I regret buying here. I will be telling everybody I know in this area not to shop used here. I will instead be recommending the Ford dealership that would have had the decency to cover something that happened THE NEXT DAY, that was very likely becoming a problem before that day. They don't stand by the cars they sell, and neither should you.

He goes out the way including coming in on his vacation day to meet and hope he can put you in the new vehicle you are interested.

NO INTEGRITY!!!

Phone deal was made, with condition that the vehicle was what it appeared to be the next morning after test drive & then sign the paperwork. Showed up the next morning & the same salesman was doing a test drive with someone else! TONY lacks ethics, integrity, & morals!!! He did not try to resolve the issue at all!! Didn't try to show other vehicles as an option. He just said "first come first serve" The other salesman-Andy-did say what happened was wrong-but it wasn't his deal & couldn't do anything about it. Management was "in a meeting"

We sincerely apologize for your experience at our dealership. After reviewing the situation it is our understanding that there was no set time for your arrival. Unfortunately, another customer did schedule a specific time and date. Once we knew the vehicle was selling we realized we did not have a contact number to inform you of the situation. We do have a process in place to try to prevent these types of things from happening. However, people do make mistakes. We have begun conducting an internal review in efforts to keep this from occurring in the future. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused as we know your time is important. Your feedback is appreciated and we assure you steps are being taken to improve our processes. Les Boyd, Owner

GREAT SERVICE, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

I travel rather far to take my car to BOYD'S CHEVY. My friends just shake their heads and think it is foolish. If they only came here, they would know why i insist on BOYD'S. First ; They schedule to my convenience. The receptionists that answer the phones are pleasant and work hard to transfer your call to the correct department or person who can understand your situation and solve your car issues. Second: The waiting area is so nice , offering a variety of drinks and a TV. Third:What is important to me is how Boyd's employees handle my car while their possession. My Z06 is an extremely nice car. I show it, have won a trophy with it and expect that my car is totally taken care of while any employee has it in their possession. Boyd's employees show respect towards the car and the car owner. 4th:Steve, the service advisor, is very pleasant to deal with. He is polite and takes the time needed to explain the situation. The day i was in with my car, i thought i had a problem with the cruise control. It actually turned out to be a switch that was accidently tuned off. I felt so foolish, BUT the employees were unbelievably thoughtful and kind. 5: They take their time when explaining your car to you. Plus the employees give you their time just talking to to you. They demonstrate how important you are to them. During this appt the service technician and i took my z06 for a ride so it could be demonstrated how the mechanism worked. It was not "broken". It had worked all along. 6: The employees were very thoughtful. Eveyone was so nice about the whole experience. The person who worked on my car was awsome. I believe his name is Richard. He even took the time to pair my new phone with the car. 7: Everyone always thanks me for giving them the opportunity to work on my car. 8: At the end of my appointment, several employees were around the car with us just talking. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and it felt like friends getting together. I am very happy with the service and the over all treatment i get at BOYD'S CHEVY. 10: I am especially impressed with the owner of BOYD'S. His employees are comforable enough to take the time to converse with the customers. They do not seem concerned about taking the time to discuss with their customers topics other than cars. The BOYD'S employees don't seemed to be nervous about being watched every 5 minutes, for lack of a better word, when socializing. This kind of work atmosphere...putting the customer first...plus the excellent service of the employees such as Steve, Richard and the young lady who meets us when we pull in, the excellent service to my car, and the courtesy they show me will keep me coming back to BOYD'S.
