Pound for pound best SUV for the money

The E70 BMW X5 with the 4.8 v8 is the best pound for pound 4wd SUV you can buy on the market today for the money. I have luckily spent time with all the competition for the X5 for its model year and can say that it is superior to all of them. Driving characteristics are a lot more sporty then the ml of the era as well as the cayenne handeling is far more superior and power delivery especially for the v8 is fluid and brute. The exhaust note is also best in class. Interior quality is around the same as its rivals but when it comes to options for the year it has far more. My personal X5 is a 07 with the 4.8 v8 i have every option that you could spec back in 2007 and some cars today still don't have these options. Front and rear sonar parking sensors, rear backup camera with guidence line, panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled seating yes cooled as well. And all that car with a 370hp v8 for less than 10k that's right and my vehicle has only done 80k miles so as i stated in the first sentence i believe the e70 X5 is pound for pound the best 4wd SUV you can buy for the money.

LOVE IT! -----SO FAR......

Just bought my 2007 3.0 X5 a little over a month ago.....so can't really attest to it's reliability - although, reading some of the reviews here make me a little shook over it. LOL LOVE the spaciousness of it - drives like a dream - steering is a little stiff - but, it's a BMW. I don't want to "jinx" it and rave too much. So far, so good. Have the "check engine idiot light" come on every now and then, randomly - throwing a 2A19 code - "fuel tank venting valve" then, it just goes away, so I don't know what that's all about, and not looking forward to going down THAT rabbit hole.... Other than that, (and watching the gas gauge literally go down - gas mileage is absolutely dismal in this thing) - I absolutely love it. Very stylish, sharp vehicle that rides and performs like a sedan. And the engine goes when you need it to go. Very zippy. It's a great car, thus far - luxurious and practical for what I need/use it for, with TONS of interior room.

103k miles and no major problems

It's roomy, and with the 4.8 liter, 350 hp V-8, it will move. It drives not unlike my 3-Series, but I do have real tires, not run-flats on it. The i-drive is a bit cumbersome, but once you get it down, you have it down.

BMW X5

Good car. Served our family well. No real complaints. Slower start up (our Kia Optima has a faster start). But once on the highway, it glides. Is it worth the extra $$$. Not sure... lower priced cars (domestic and import) seem to be catching up fast...some have nicer interiors and longer warranties.
