Drives beautifully, NAVI is lousy.

My wife has always had Hondas. This year I suggested that she give an American car a chance. She purchased a 2010 Buick Lacrosse CXS, and now I'm getting the blame. The car handles well and is extremely quiet. Milage is fair. But the main problem is the NAVI. She loved the one in her 2005 Accord and would love to have it back. First of all, it is inextricably tied to the radio. When you push the NAVI button the radio comes on. You can't turn it off or the NAVI goes off, so you have to turn it down. And you can't even program a route while driving (she used to do this as I drove). You must do it first while the car is parked. Once you program the NAVI it does not display your route with turns, etc. like the Honda one did. Instead it shows you all of the exits, most of which you will not be using. We thought we could get around some of this by calling OnStar, but of course their directions are only as good as the Buick NAVI, and those are lousy. Several times, once at night in the rain, we have been given bum steers and have been late to our destination. We have contacted Buick customer service twice. Once we even spoke with a person located in the U.S. Both agreed that this NAVI is no good. One of them even checked with engineering to see if there is any way to pry the radio function from it; there is not. Of course she paid full boat for the car, so we can't afford to trade it in. Maybe if they redesign the NAVI for 2012 they'll replace the computer chip in ours for an upgrade. I'm not holding my breath though.

car I liked most

I bought this Buick LaCrosse 2010 and I did not regret it one bit. It is fully loaded with navigation, moonroof, XM radio, On Star, heated seats and steering wheel, plus rear view camera which is so handy. It is a V6 but it does not have much power, but for comfort and how super smooth the ride is, this is a really great car.

One Bad Buick

I have the fully loaded CXS package with everything except the rear entertainment system which wasn't available when I bought the car, or I would have gotten that as well. The car handles and performs exceptional well for an american car and very comparable to the foreign vehicles I have owned. If they keep making them like this one GM will rule! The ride is soft and smooth local or highway with the touring package 19 inch tires. Best standard features and options include navigation, Harmon Kardon sound, rear fold seats, onstar, xm radio etc. The body designs is fabulous and just keeps people inquiring about the car and turning heads at the same time. Take a test drive you will be amazed. I did and bought the car the next day.....This is one bad buick!

Buick has it together with this one

I've owned about thirty cars over the past forty years; from VWs to BMWs and everything in between. The 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXS is, by far, the best car I've ever owned. Styling is great, inside and out. Handling is very good; not too tight, not too loose. The three mode drive is a good feature (normal, sport and manual). This model is a great HOT weather car, i.e., air conditioned seats, power sunshade, moon roof and remote start all help to keep the car comfortable in the summer. I do like the HDD. After one month, I've yet to find a single fault. As a matter of fact, I traded in a 2008 BMW 528i for this Buick and feel like I've traded UP.

Perhaps the best car I've ever owned

It'a an exceptional vehicle. Having owned two dozen domestic and foreign cars - including several Buicks, Jags, MBZ, etc. - this car is a total standout. An outstanding assemblage of thoughtful touches, interior finishing, interior and exterior illumination and limousine rear seat. It's more enjoyable to drive with each passing day. If this is an example of the "new" GM, it's a formidable statement.

Best Car I've Owned

It was Love at 1st Sight! I still Love my Red Crosse! It's quick and responsiv, quiet and comfy. I would advise getting the backup assist since it hard to just distance from the rear with no good point of reference in the rear.

Top Value for the Money

After 1 month and 1250 miles, the car, a CXS, has been almost all good. 2 of the Goodyear tires, which you can only indirectly blame Buick or GM for, had to be replaced. (couldn't be balanced they were so bad). Mileage on a recent 600 mile trip, was 28.3 m.p.g. Memory seat glitches have my wife and I shaking our heads. But it's a super car.

Good Enough To Get Rid Of My Lexus

After years of leasing various Lexus ES models, I switched to the new LaCrosse. After reading a car magazine test comparing the two, with the Buick winning, I was persuaded to test drive the LaCrosse. I ended up trading my 2 year old ES 350 for a brand new LaCrosse. I couldn't be more happy with my new car. I spend a lot of time in the car, so it obviously has to be comfortable. The Buick definitely has better seats than the Lexus, especially for long trips. The interior layout is much nicer and seemingly higher quality than the Lexus, which by my comparison has a rather drab interior. My LaCrosse is very relaxing to drive, has plenty of room, and is overall a nicer vehicle to rack up miles in. Fuel millage is better than advertised too. I get about 18 in the city and 28 on the highway. Not bad considering mine is all wheel drive. I imagine a front drive model could reach at least 30. The backseat is much roomier than the Lexus and it is arguably just as quiet. One of the best improvements over the Lexus is the GPS. It is very intuitive and easy to use. My only complaints are that it is not exactly a sporty car. It is quick enough, but could use better feedback from the breaks and steering. Other than that, I couldn't hesitate to recommend this car.

Beautiful car

I purchased the CX, 6 cylinder about three weeks ago and it is a very quiet and smooth ride, love the XM satellite radio and style of the car. Everything came standard with this vehicle except for the bluetooth, in which I will just have to add that at a later date. Onstar is great though, which is standard for 1 year, the navigation system works like a charm. The trunk space is perfect for my use. The mileage is also good. I have no complaints about this vehicle. The four year bumper to bumper is a great!

Great car to own

I really like the styling of the car and it has features that make it safe to drive. I looked at a lot of cars and after test driving 10 different models, this is the one that I fell in Love with everything about the car. I don't buy new cars every year, but once every 10 years. The price seemed really fair for the luxury I was getting in this car. I would recommend this car to anyone.
