Perfect car for daughter and baby. Needed a four door for easy access for car seat. Front wheel drive for our winter conditions. Plenty of trunk space for stroller and other items. Economical 4 cylinder.

Cheap Muscle
I bought this car about 6 months ago. I got a Base SE model with the Appearance package and a 3.6l V6 engine. The car has power to spare, and makes passing on back roads or interstate as easy as dropping the pedal. The interior design looks good, but for a bigger guy like me( 6,3 380lbs) the headroom is perfect, leg room isnt quite wide enough... and the center console area is made of cheaper materials. if you are a bigger person, careful leaning your leg on the center, as in colder weather some of the plastics cracked from the pressure of my leg on them. Exterior for me is perfect, with the Appearance package, the vehicle exudes menace. The Redline pearl red is a must on this one, The color fits the car very well.

At least it looks nice
Bought this car new. It's a 2013 and only has 23,000 miles on it. The breaks squeal loudly when backing up. The throttle response is the worst I have ever seen. The passenger side headrest deployed all on it's own. I looked it up and there is supposed to be yet another recall for it. If not it's about 500 bucks. Already got the passenger side airbag fixed as a recall. Now I have an actuator under the dash that pops loudly when a/c is turned on. Service department said it would be $120 just to look at it because half the dash has to come out. All in all it's still only the second worst car I've owned, second only to a Ford Pinto I owned as a teenager.

Last of its kind...Grossly Underrated with the 3.6
I've had this vehicle just shy of 5 years now. With the current design trends being what they are, this will likely be the last midsize sedan to sport any kind of Muscle-car flavor. Avenger compared unfavorably with the competition when it was new - based on my own experience owning an SE V6, I would beg to differ. I've had exactly one light bulb failure in the center storage compartment, and that's it - the car has been otherwise flawless. So much for Chrysler's supposed lack of reliability. The Avenger is practical as a sedan, but it is definitely a driver's car in a way that the cookie-cutters are not. With regard to performance, the Pentastar V6 paired with the Autoshift transmission is exhillirating so say the least, at 0-60 in the low six-second range can be achieved - it is somewhat of a sleeper. Handling is not Audi or BMW precise (I once co-owned a 325 is coupe), but not that far off either and perfectly respectable, especially for the price-point. It also has hydraulic power steering which is much more communicative that newer electric configurations. The car also feels quite well-built, a little reminiscent of German Teutonic solidity but with an unmistakably American muscle-car flair. I should add that it was also an IIHS safety pick in 2013. There's an understated sportiness to the interior that's quite appealing. As for the ride, it is eminently comfortable, it irons out bumps without feeling floaty. I've traveled up to about 400 miles in a day without even a hint of a busted back. Highly recommend checking out a gently used model.
