2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
We bought this van new. It's been a good vehicle mechanical wise. It has power sliding doors and both went out about the same time when it was about 10 years old. Annoying, but we live with it. Cost to fix them is will over $600 each so they are just manual now. We love the Fold and Go seats for loading large items and vacationing with a lot of stuff. We have had a few other issues, but all are just normal car care issues and upkeep on an older vehicle.
Great vacation vehicle
This van took us all over the U.S. and never broke down. Very comfortable and reliable and reasonable gas mileage
GREAT ALL AROUND VAN
WITH A LARGE FAMILY ITS PERFECT AIR IS SUPER COLD !!BEST MONEY IVE SPENT !!GREAT SOUNDING STEREO !!IN DASH CD CHANGER IS GREAT POWER DOORS VERY CONVENIENT!
I've driven theses vans for about 25 years, I've found most of my purchases to be a great value and comfortable ride.
I have very serious concerns re; recall
When I first purchased my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan myself and my child were in love with it but as soon as the 30 day warranty expired everything began to fall apart I got a letter from GM claiming there was a recall on almost everything to do with my vehicle I have been trying to contact them for nearly two years now to no avail but if GM sticks to its word and pays to fix all that is wrong with our Grand Caravan I would keep her forever any ideas on how to get in touch with GM because the number they gave me is no longer in existence and my vehicle is in a tow yard because it does not work thank you Bernadette T.
2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SE
we are open and honest about our vehicle, more than other people who sell their cars. Below is the list of everything we know about it since we have had it. Small things need to be done to it like the following: 1. Rear drum breaks need replaced and ABS light reset. (lights are on because brakes are at sensor) 2. Cat convert replaced (parts on hand with O2 sensor) 3. Tires rotated (have not been done this year) 4. Radio antenna needs replaced (car wash in 2016 broke off and not willing to replace, was tech error... could not take off at my request said it was ok to run through and snapped off. Radio still works good. We have an universal one but not the right tools to replace it) 5. Splash guards from under engine compartment need to be put back on. (otherwise the belt will squeak when wet) 6. Paint fading on roof, surface chipping in spots, scratches, and a dent on rear door. (Must note that is no rust on this vehicle and was told the underbelly is in perfect condition) Must also add 1. all service lights have been replaced 2. Rear tail lights have been upgraded to the Durango style (parts bought from JC Whitney) 2. Oil changed 05/01/2017 (we have changed oil every 3 months since we do not use it enough [about 8k miles a year]) 3. Radiator flushed. (May need cooling system flush since it is over 100k miles. It has 2 inside compartment heater cores 1 main and 1 rear. I am not aware of each ones condition. I know it blows cold and hot air) 4. New tires 08/01/2016 (update passenger rear replaced 05/15/2017. Wife caught a large screw in tire and could not be patched so it was replaced) 5. New front brakes and calibers 08/01/2016 6. Dealer inspection 11/2014 (did all work to transition from Florida vehicle to cold weather) 7. Dealer inspection summer 2014 (have report of what we was told needed to be done to make it "like new")
Great family vehicle
Extremely spacious vehicle that any family would enjoy. Much better that any smaller eco car. The gas mileage was ok. Was able to transport many kids from event to event with the knowledge they were safe.
Dodge is always my only choice!!!!
Great family van and a great safety rating. My 2005 Dodge grandcaravan is great!! She handles well and has a roomey cabin. Handles well in the winter my opinion, i haven't ever got stuck. Great on gas, (keeping up on oil change, tires, and O2 censors contribute to that as well) my very first vehicle was a Dodge caravan "94" SE. These dodge caravan's are RELIABLE!!! Whenever it be an issue it's from wear and tear. Like any vehicle I guess, if you pay attention, listen to and keep it tuned up. You'll have it for years.
Great family car
Owned this 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan since 2013. It is an extremely dependable vehicle for family's. Every time there has been an issue, is has been minor and repairable. We would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a family vehicle.
