thoroughly dissatisfied
after driving my new 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan twice the transmission began pouring fluid by way of a defective pump seal at 45 MPH. This is an obvious danger but neither the manufacturer or representative dealerships will stand behind their 5 year 50,000 mile drivetrain warranty. They wouldn't even agree to arbitration although they were the ones that included it in the contract. I would highly recommend that anyone considering the purchase of one of these vehicles perform extensive research to see how these dealerships and the manufacturer handles consumer complaints, recalls and defect investigations or you may find yourself borrowing a phrase from my mother: misery loves company.

great choice
i owned a 96 gc and loved it i upgrade to 2012 it was a refined interior and with the options it was excellent for the money. the grand caravan has a lot of power 283 horsepower propelling the engie. the entertainment system is excellent the kids love it its great w/ the long trips. the comforbility is amazing with the long drive it feels pretty good . the GC is great for the money. I owned the 96 GC for 14 years with no problems the reliability is great. I the 2012 GC i had only paid 35 dollars for a flat. the GC is a great family hauling machine and feels x100 better than japeneese minivan.

nice choice
We rented a caravan crew to bring my daughters stuff home from iowa state. I wanted to test drive the new pentastar 3.6 in a chrysler product. WOW!!! Nice, smooth, quiet, and powerful at highway speeds. We got 29 (yes 29) mpg while not trying for mileage. It drove smooth and sure footed at 70 to 80 mph. the interior is real nice and very functional. I am really looking at the chrysler 300 with the 8 spd trans. My 700 mile test drive in a chrysler van will probably result in our purchase of a chrysler 300 limited

less than I was expecting....
Seems I have been reviewing mini vans now forever! So as I thought I would purchase one soon, I test drove the 2012 Dodge GC SXT. The more I drove it, the less I liked it. I seemed to be sitting high up and needed to be able to lower the seat. Worst part was it seemed to almost get fatiguing driving the GC because of the heavy stearing and the shiny smooth stearing wheel. When I went up hills, the transmission always seemed to be shifting up and down more than average and was annoying. The van had an Econo mode button with an on off indication, but you had no driving indication it was working and I didn't notice any difference when I used it. But maybe it was shifting less with it off? The ride wasn't as quite as I was expecting, but maybe that's just the way mini vans tend to be? A few reviews of the T&C and GC was ranked higher for ride and noise level than the top ranked vans? The instrumentation of the dash seemed basic and cheap looking. The stow n go seats were not comfortable. The operation of the stow n go and third row seemed clunky and cumbersome. Maybe this is something you get used to and easier with time, but unless everything gets moved and lined up, it's some work. But, again with practice, it may get easier. Still, for me, more comfy seats in the second and third row, I'd prefer. The nice things were the power sliding side doors and the power lift gate. But one time the passenger sliding door hung up or hesitated for some reason? Backing up was a chore especially with the blind spot in the back drivers side and lack of a back up camera or sensers. Over all the GC seemed to lack refinement and was tiring to drive. More trucklike and less carlike for me. : ( But that's just my OP. I will say, I now see why the higher ranked mini vans are priced higher, and I would spend the extra $$ since you normally get what you pay for....

Great room for taking the dogs out and about.
This is our 6th Plymouth/Chrysler/Dodge minivan. We have big dogs and take them out to walk daily. The Stow and Go seating is fantastic. There is a great feature we have now which allows for us to talk hands free over the car's system automati
