Love My 2008 Ram 2500

I've owned this truck for a couple of months and have been very satisfied. Have logged a little over 1,800 miles without incident. Love the Cummins 6.7L diesel engine. What power! And the exhaust brake is incredible. Handling is excellent and visibility is great also. My truck is a regular cab and has a fabulous storage bin behind the seats along with extra hooks in the interior for hanging lots of items. The interior is nicely appointed. However, lots of plastic to look at. Kinda cheap looking. But all the controls are easy to reach and the cab is solid with no rattles or squeaks. Order the Popular Equipment Group which has the Infinity speaker upgrade. Well worth the purchase. The miles per gallon is so-so. Have been recording 13.5mpg around town and slightly over 16mpg on the road. This truck sits tall. So you want to order access steps. A must! There are grab handles on each door pillar. Some brands don't have them on both sides. The truck has a real rugged look which appeals to me. The ride is stiff. Slightly better with a trailer attached. I tried to order this truck with leather seating. But they don't offer it with the regular cab in the SLT. So I had the seat re-upholstered in leather. Glad I did. Much easier to clean than cloth. Is this the best truck out there? No, it's got older technology and feel to it. But for the purchase price, it's worth every penny. Besides, they've had fewer recalls than other brands in the 3/4 ton variety. I love this diesel. But it may not be for everybody. With it, you get a diesel particulate filter for the exhaust. It needs to self clean every so often and the only way to do that is to get out on the freeway and drive it hard. If you don't, you will be faced with service bills that could be in the thousands. I would think about exactly what your purpose is and select the diesel only if you will have this truck out on the freeway fairly often. This engine was not designed for grocery getting or local commutes.
