The least reliable car I’ve had

I’ve had the car for 1 year 4 months, I’ve had to go for defect repairs multiple times and I am waiting to hear again about another repair.

good, comfortable car for what I need

Easy to drive, amenities good. Would have preferred a way to close outside mirrors automatically inside vehicle. Smooth ride, Still learning the "bells ad whistles:.

Looks great but rides like a 1 ton truck

Everything except the ride is above the bar. Extremely rough ride. Checked alignment, balanced ties, correct air pressures, rotated tires twice in 12000 miles. For a 2018 Acadia Denali with a $49,980.00 price tag it should ride like on a cloud, not a buckboard. Dealer says it rides like all the other Acadia’s on their lot. That is the best they say they can do. Worst riding vehicle I have ever owned in my life (76yrs old).

Could be a nice car once all my issues are address

I purchased this car 2 months ago and I have already had issues with message center stating please put car in park. My lift gate ocassionally stop working and will not close and appears to have issues with transmission changing. I have contacted Gmc and was advised someone would contact me in 24 to 48 hours, needless to say I am still waiting. Maybe I should have kept my Ford.

LOVE THIS VEHICLE

I have had it currently for 9 months, and my wife and I love everything about it! Currently has 14,000km (8750miles) on it, and no issues. We have even taken it on a decent road trip to visit family, and there is lots of storage space, with the 3rd row seats down. Even our dog loves it!!

Great for the first 15,000 miles

Factory tires are a joke and made with softer rubber. GM is aware and it was the discretion of the dealership to share the info. At 18,000 miles I had 4 bald tires. They cover a portion of it under warrenty. The tire guy has to call Michelin with the mileage and size of tread if any. We did get 70% off new ones. Two days later I started experiencing the "SHIFT TO PARK" error. It's in park and I try to shut it off but it doesnt register being in park. This prevents the car from locking and causes nonstop dinging that will ultimately drain your battery. You have to turn it on/off again multiple times, jiggle the stick, hit the brake until it magically decides it's good. It now happens EVERY time I shut it down. There is no fix. Again GM is aware and left it to the discretion of the dealership to share the info. Now i'm stuck in a lease for a PITA car that I can't properly use. Save yourself the heartache - buy something else!~

Do not buy.

Tires needed replaced at 30000 miles and then shifter needed to be replaced at 38000. Unable to turn off car. Manufactures defect but out of warranty so $500 out of pocket expense.

Step Up From GMC Envoy

Have a little over 6K on the car. Love the styling and it is put together well. Impressed with pickup and gas mileage. Just finished 600 mile trip and I received 28 miles to the gallon. Six cylinder engine, so I was impressed. Nice comfortable ride and very responsive. Entertainment system well designed and navigation system worth the extra cost. Seats are comfortable and adjust easily. Love the front view. Lots of glass, so you can enjoy the outdoors. Third rear seat a bit tight. Also, bit tight getting to that 3rd row. Cup holders on doors need a redesign. More like a bottle holder. My first big car was a Chevrolet Trailblazer that I owned for 12 years, followed by the purchase of a 2009 GMC Envoy. So far, I am very pleased with my investment. Hopefully it will stand the test of time, as I like to keep my vehicles for at least 10 years.

Nice balance of size, performance, and MPG

I have been a fan of these mid-size SUVs since the original Equinox in 2005. They provide a good balance between size and performance. I have not liked what Chevrolet did to the interior of the Equinox in subsequent revisions, specifically the center console. I've felt quite cramped in the newer versions, which is why in 2014 I purchased a Kia Sorento. The Sorento had an amazing level of comfort, a little more room, and better MPG. In 2019 it was time to replace the Sorento, and much like Chevy did with the Equinox, Kia has widened the center console on their newer models, which lead me to looking at new models again. This led me to the GMC Acadia. First and foremost, I love the aggressive styling of the nose. It's amazing to look at. The cabin is quite nice, even on the SLT-2 package. While the center console is a little wide, and doesn't provide some of the storage of the Sorento it is replacing, it overall provides a solid feeling without being cramped. Even with the 4-cylinder engine I was a little disappointed in the MPG. Where the Sorento and Equinox can see highway MPG averages of 26-30MPH the Acadia tops out at 24-26MPG. For a smaller engine that should have better mileage, this is one of the areas where I am a little disappointed.

Lots of luxury for an exceptional price

I went from a Denali Terrain to a Denali Acadia. The seats way much more comfortable and the infotainment system, which now includes Apple Car Play, is 100 times better. The interior of the car only comes in two options, all black or tan with a brown dash. I have the tan and brown, but the car is black...which seems like a strange combination to me. The interior of the Denali has everything you could imagine: heater steering wheel, heated and air conditioned front seats, heated second road, two sub roofs, third row of seats, 5 USB ports (including one in the third row), a household plug, and an AUX option. The front row of seats are wide enough for a larger person to fit comfortably. The only exterior change I wish it had was turn signals in the side mirrors, but they do have blind spot monitoring. The Denali also have hands free operation of the rear lift gate. Overall it’s a great car and I’m glad I bought it.
