Least Reliable Car but Looks Great

I owned (leased) the 2017 Civic Hatch EX for over 3 years now. Love the look and even interior styling. People complain about the volume button but I found it to be a mute issue because I just use the volume button on the wheel. The real issue is this the most times I've been to the mechanic for this car vs the last 12 years of owning vehicles which I'll explain below. Honda refuses to acknowledge the problems, reimburse, or even provide discounts on the lease return. The GOOD: -Style -Drive. Really fun and nimble. Terrific pick up. -Hatch versatility. Moved a table, 6 full chairs, and bookcase in one trip -Walk-away lock feature. So convenient. Other companies don't have it. The BAD: - Driver's seat comfort. ZERO lumber support. Long drives (2+ hours) are just impossible and I'm a 5'9" yoga teacher with no back issues. Yet. -Tires pop easy. Went through 4 tires in about 1.5 years in NYC. Just not a city car. Terrible suspension with low tire walls. -MAJOR AC ISSUE: Air Conditioning started blowing warm air 2.5 years in (40k miles). I went through many forums. There are 100's like me. It's a huge issue that Honda refuses to acknowledge and make a recall. It's past warranty so they won't fix it free for me. Cost ~$1200. - TMPS Monitoring system: Light went on 2.5 years on a routine tire rotation at reputable shop. Back to the forums... Many have the same issue. The system is flawed. No real issue just annoying light. And if a tire does blow, bad news for me. -Audio system rattle: The casing is crap. Rattles when any bit of bass play at half volume. The shop couldn't do a thing - after 3 "replacements". I hacked it myself by adding some cushion insulation by the edges. TLDR: This is my 3rd Honda. STAY AWAY. Major issues. Sadly, Honda's are just not reliable anymore.

The dealership lied. Ruined the car for me

The car had scratches, dents, and a hole on the fender the dealer never informed me. This car was not worth the price the dealer charged me for it. Interior design is alright. Comfort alright. Performance is poor.

Car has a great sound system rides very nice good acceleration love the fact that when you turn on the right turn signal the right mirror camera comes on so you could see all the traffic on that side of the car on the main display well-designed great great great gas mileage we’re getting 40 miles to the gallon highly recommend

Honda does it again.

Modern styling, decent interior, a fair engine- it ticked all the right boxes for me, as my first car. It's a 2017 LX-P coupe in blue that was leased for me, which I made payments on- and I've put about 9k miles on it since I've owned it. Front wheel drive fun i s the name of the game here, and with good tires it's easy enough to kick the back out around corners. Launches are fun in wet conditions from stop lights, but you're not gonna be featured on the Cover of Need for Speed in this. Its interior is good enough- enough to serve me well on daily commutes to/from work, and to take friends out on long drives. It handled a seattle-anaheim trip well enough, but If you're doing long drives, schedule a break or two. Insane gas mileage is a hallmark here- in the right conditions I was pushing 40 to 50 mpg on the highway. In a place like Seattle, expect 20~ mpg. Manual says to feed it premium, but there's not a noticeable difference. I had the misfortune to get into two accidents in it- and while the airbags never deployed, Hond engineers did their job perfectly. In both a side swipe and head-on collision, I came out *completey* unscathed, without a single bruise- which couldn't be said for the other drivers. Granted, I had my seat belt on and these were ~30-40mp crashes, but It's a very safe car. I'd trust it in a highway accident any day. fast (enough), affordable, stylish, and comfortable (enough), if you need a basic econobox that doesn't scream 90's and can actually be fun to drive, this is it. Bluetooth was enough for me on my drives, and with a phone mount, navigation becomes irrlevant. The standard speaker system is acceptable. I wouldn't crank it, if you care about sound quality, but it was enough to throw parties in my highschool parking lot with in senior year, so take that as you will. Good car. Saved my life twice. You usually can find them used for a fair price. I'd highly suggest it.

Impressive

Owned the car for 3 years now. The only complaint that I have are that the seats are a little hard. I wouldn't take it on an extended trip of more than 200 miles. I am tall so I do hit my right shin every now and then getting in and your right knee will rest pretty hard on the shifter console. I put a pad in for that. My car actually came with 17 inch wheels. Nice surprise. Overall I am satisfied.

Beautiful drive, looks gorgeous

Not only does the car look great from the outside, it feels smooth to drive. The surround sound, the touchscreen and talk-to-text and text-to-speech features built in to the car even without using AndroidAuto were a huge plus. It's very responsive to driving and has very clean brake and gas.

As reliable as the sunrise

This car exceeds my sons needs. He is 6’3 and finds the civic very roomy and comfortable. He loves the sporty exterior and smooth handling of the car.

Great car for the money.

Beautiful looking car. Nice lines. Lx doesn’t have any frills but it’s comfortable and nice looking. The 4 cylinder engine has a lot of life. Handles like a dream. Really like this car.

Most reliable car I’ve owned

I love the handling and the right lane camera really comes in clutch. Very comfortable and reliable. Only reason I would not recommend is if you have kids do to lack of space.
