At 200,000 miles, still runs perfectly
My dad bought this car new in 2000, drove it to Florida, Colorado, West Virginia etc. Has never broke down or had any problems with him, then he gave it to me and she still runs perfectly. So comfortable and roomy. She gets AMAZING gas mileage. She’s got a little rust and shakes a little bit over 70 mph but other than that she’s the most safe and reliable car. I would recommend this car to someone who’s looking for their first car.

A good reliable vehicle
I currently own a 1999 Honda CR-V and before me my sister owned it. We bought it from the previous owner in good condition. The car is still running great and is very reliable. It's not the most stylish car but it gets the job done. I've taken it camping and on long road trips and it's held up to all. My only personal complaint is that it takes a little to long to accelerate when merging onto the highway.

Original owner.
248,000+ miles and a little tank of a car. I live in Wyoming and it has never let us down. The first gen cars are the best. Easygoing on parts and over all maintenance no recalls. If you are looking for a good all around suv, I would recommend this little Honda to anyone.

19 years without a major issue
While this can be considered basic transportation, reliability trumps all. This is generally a bullet proof vehicle, that has served my family well for over 19 years. Simple to maintain, solid in bad weather. I'd buy it again in a heart beat.

Honda, Nuff' said.
I have owned numerous vehicles ranging from all out luxury down to the nitty-gritty basic bare bones car. I have owned nearly one vehicle from every make and it seems to me that I end up back in a honda. Why? Probably because they last, get incredible fuel economy, are practicle, stylish (depending on model) and just all around suit my needs. I recently purchased an older 1st Gen Honda crv and well, it's my second b series Honda. Outside of the typical crv sway bar problems and noises, I am perfectly satisfied with this machine. It has a semi-classic boxy suv look, the interior is cramped but practicle (I'm 6') the seats are mint which for a car of its age is incredible.. the all wheel drive and 5 speed manual gearbox work perfect, the engine runs like new and has 200k miles. Now back to the interior. I have two sets of wheels for this crv, a winter set and a summer set. I took the summer set to get new rubber put on and on the way home, I was able to fit my winter wheels and tires, my old summer tires, a 4 month old baby and my ol' Lady. And it was a comfy ride with 8 tires and two and a quarter people. Just great! So the 1st Gen crv may only had 136 hp. Doesn't matter, they have enough torque to move. It gets 26-30mpg with awd that is great! This all being said and me babbling about things that don't really matter, I'd recommend a crv to anyone. Perfect buy in my opinion. And don't blow head gaskets like a Subaru forester of the same year.

Reliable and Dependable Vehicle
My wife's father gave us his used 1999 Honda CRV LX with 280,000 miles. I figured with that mileage, it'd definitely have some major maintenance work needed. The ENTIRE service history was accounted for and the car's phenomenal performance reflected this. It runs better than any of my previous cars (all Mitsubishi) combined. Great gas mileage for an SUV. I do wish it had a little more oomph to it but being that the car is in such great condition for the year and mileage, I don't care. I accidentally found the table that comes in these things! That was the cherry on top. The car now has 328,000 miles and still runs like a champ. Granted, I've been meticulous about maintenance.
