My first Honda - very reliable!
The Honda CR-V is a rock solid car that is very comfortable and reliable. Great for daily driving and road trips. You can't go wrong with a CR-V!

Best car I've ever owned
I bought a used 2008 CR-V EX-L through a broker in 2011, with just over 17K miles on it. Price was good and the condition of the vehicle was excellent. Loved it on sight and even more when I drove it. I had done extensive research and test driving before deciding on this model, and started out wanting a Subaru Outback. But the test drive was the clincher. I don't drive long distances a whole lot but when I go out of town to visit friends up to 200 miles away, some of whom live in remote areas, or go to the Sierras, I want to enjoy the trip and the driving. And with this car, I do. I find the seats really comfortable: no back-ache after hours of driving. Last time I drove from the SF Bay Area to Mono Lake I got 32 mpg with the ac on, both directions. On those endless short trips around town and with waiting in traffic I'm lucky to get 18-19 mpg. I have driven friends' cars with much more up-to-date accessories, electronic assist etc. and while those are fun, I'm pretty content with my more basic CR-V, with fewer distractions. I added fog lights a year or so ago and they really make a difference for me driving at night.

2008 CR-V - Almost Perfect
This is an excellent SUV - it's roomy and you sit up high, but it's still small(ish) on the outside. It's preppy on the road, and the various traction control and AWD systems work well - I can't get it to let go of the road in "enthusiastic" city driving. It gets good gas mileage for its size (around 22/28), and it's comfy. The only fault I've found with this car: in this generation of CR-V the seats don't fold completely flat for camping.

Cosmetic Issues Are Common, Reliability Is Average
The worse thing about my 2008 CRV are the black panels that surround the door windows. Half of mine have peeled and discolored and look really bad. The material inside the doors has also torn because of creases that came from the factory. The vehicle is garaged and low mileage, but looks bad and of course Honda won't replace the defective items on their dime. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect a company to stand behind their products and Honda does not do that. Reliability has also been average for this vehicle. Alternator had to be replaced and car shakes when AC is running, unfortunately repair shops claim that's normal for this vehicle. Road noise is also much worse than other vehicles we own, especially when driving on concrete roads. I'm not impressed. Buy a Toyota or Subaru, instead of Honda, I will next time.

Great Performance and Reliable
I bought this car in 2008 and still going as good as new! Zero issues so far (till Feb2015). I have changed it's tires and the battery only once in six years! The electronics features in 2008 were not so advanced or atleast they were not providing in UAE, so mine doesn't have a Bluetooth or navigation features, but that is minor thing. The best things I like about this car: - Very Comfortable (best seat design) - Good Pickup Power - Very Safe - Never fails
