Automatic doors and trunk destroy a good van

Do not buy this van if you live in cold climates or on a gravel road (or value your sanity). The automatic sliding doors are a money pit. We have put over $5000 into fixing them (at the dealership) and we are still down to one working door. The other one we just leave permanently closed. If someone accidentally opens it refuses to latch properly and constantly tries to engage the latch. This goes on all night long and kills the battery (even with a battery maintainer attached). We have been going through a battery a year for 5 years. There may be an additional electrical issue that is causing a short somewhere but getting this diagnosed will be costly and quite frankly we are done putting money into this van. We bought a Honda because we loved the reliability of the Civic we owned previously. The Odyssey has been a major let down. The engine and transmission are fine of course, but the automatic everything is a joke. The doors and the trunk are such a headache that we will likely never buy a Honda again.

Death trap

This car is a death trap. Locking mechanism in doors are unresponsive and you can't get out of the vehicle. Sliding doors do not work properly. Windows go down and up while car is in motion. Nightmare!

Most Reliable vehicle I have ever owned

I love my Odyssey! It is so comfortable, the seat is larger than any of the new cars, it comes out to the back of my knees, and I am 5'6", i know that's a strange thing to like, but its important to me. I also like how versatile it is with the e3rd row seats folding into the floor, or makes the well deep enough for storage! Half or the whole way across! Best car I have ever owned!

powered back door does not work

I just bought the 2010 Honda Odyssey from a used dealership. I was enthusiastic about the purchase because of all the safety reviews but also because I have owned Honda vehicles in the past and they were wonderful. .But I think this purchase was impulsive and I should have given it more test drives and a thorough check of all the features to see if they work. I have never been an enthusiast of the powered doors and now I am really pissed off because no matter how many times I tried the multiple buttons to open the rear hatch they didn't work until the 10th try. The design should have allowed one to do it manually if they power malfunctioned but it doesn't. The interior looks great and the miles are not that high for its age so i can't imagine that the previous owner abused the buttons. This sucks I owned a 2005 dodge caravan and even that manual door still works. Powered doors are stupid and clearly a waste of good money

I wouldn't drive any other minivan

You can't beat a Honda Odyssey for comfort. The captain's chairs are extremely comfortable, and the front seats in the EX-L are both power seats and heated seats. I love that I can open and close the kids' doors and the rear hatch from the driver's seat. I love that it seats 8 people with the removable jumpseat, and that the rear seat folds down into the floor so you can transport furniture or whatever. You can even remove the center row of seats for even more cargo space. The DVD system keeps the kids entertained on long drives. The leather seats are durable and stand up to kids and the dog. I didn't like Chrysler minivans because the front left tire hump didn't allow me to stretch out my left leg. Having a back-up camera and a built-in garage door opener and AUX stereo on a 2010 are pluses. And I love that there are 10 drink holders -- wonderful for long trips when you haven't stopped for a while to discard empty beverage containers. I don't like the self-driving features of new vehicles. I don't want my car braking for me -- it may not realize there's a big truck right on my tail. When the kids were grown and we no longer needed a minivan, we bought a Honda CR-V.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

If I could give this place a negative rating I would! My spouse and I went into the dealership last night, did all the process of buying a vehicle. The sales agent at the time was unable to do our financing due the to office being close. This morning my credit was ran, I was approved for the purchase and told I could get the vehicle today when I got off work. Before I got off work Jason, the other salesman, sold the vehicle that I had put a deposit down on. The owner allowed this sale to go through, even though I had already done all the necessary steps to get the vehicle. Jason was even advised by my salesman that a deposit was made and continued with the sale of the vehicle anyways. This is the most SHADY and SELFISH salesman I have ever seen before in my life. I would strongly recommend you pick another car lot
