Owning a 2018 Honda Odyssey is a Nightmare

I was torn between purchasing a Toyota or a Honda van. At the end I decided to go with Honda. Although I received great customer service and probably one of the easiest purchasing process I?ve ever had, owning a 2018 Honda Odyssey has been a nightmare. From the first month we owned it the sliding back door wouldn?t close. Then the navigation center would freeze. Now the driver panel freezes while I?m driving and while using my Bluetooth. Recently, the driver side window would not roll up, this conveniently began during a storm! This vehicle is unreliable, you will spend your weekends servicing and fixing this vehicle. Consumers, DON?T BUY a HONDA VAN! It?s a faulty product and the warranty division said they can fix the vehicle, that?s not the point! There?s no reason that a consumer purchasing a brand new 40,000 dollar vehicle should have to be concerned about issues with the vehicle. Do yourself a favor and buy a different van!

So happy with our purchase!

5 stars across the board. The only complaint I have is concerning the rear ac vents. When you have a rear facing child seat, the ac does not reach the child. I wish there were ac vents in the ceiling of the van and not just on the middle side of the door jam.

Worth for the money

I have the previous model but this one is quieter, more equipment and well balance. Nice suspension, not too soft or hard. Interior is simple and i really like the new transmision push button, it is fast to react.

Awesome value for money vahicle for a family.

If you are looking for a family car, Honda Odyssey is the ultimate answer to it. It comes with latest safety features. Good thing about the 2018 model is it has been updated in design and feature both!

Nice, but....

So we recently purchased our 2018 Odyssey EX, trading in our 2015 Toyota Highlander. Although we loved our highlander, we needed more space. Wanted to comfortably fit 3 teenage boys and 2 dogs in the back and the 3rd row seats in the highlander are too small. We also owned a 2004 Honda Odyssey EX L without almost 200,000 miles. So naturally, when searching for a new minivan, we gravitated to the Honda yet again. The positives of the 2018: Sleek styling Fun to drive, agile Updated controls Gear shift placement less obtrusive/ easy to use Comfortable seats ( minus the arm rest which is TOO HIGH) Unfortunately, the negatives are incredibly frustrating. My biggest complaint is the inability to save to memory XM satellite stations along with FM stations like in our highlander. They are completely separate systems in the Odyssey. You can?t go back and forth easily. I used to love scrolling through my saved channels, some being XM and some FM with ease. This system seems cumbersome and lacking in intuitiveness. Second major negative is the design of the second row seating. Although the magic seats are nice, I would gladly trade this feature in for a flat area when the 2nd row seats are removed. In our 2004 Odyssey, we loved being able remove one of the middle seats for our dogs to ride comfortably with us. Now they can?t sit easily on the floor due to the massive hump in the middle row. They could ride in the back, but then can?t enjoy the windows being down. Not to mention how awkward the seats are to remove! The second row seats don?t fold nearly as well as those in our 2004 making them difficult to remove and store. Even the apple car play and phone system seem to lack intuitiveness, unlike our highlander. We bought our Odyssey based on our experience with Honda?s reliablility and the new re-design. However, knowing a what I know now, I might re-think our purchase. I would still recommend , but disappointed nonetheless.

Great Van.

We purchased the 2018 Elite based on how much we loved our 2005 Odyssey touring that we owned for many years. The 2018 is quiet and drives great. We like all of the new safety features like blind spot monitoring, lane departure, and the adaptive cruise control is nice. We are looking forward to some road trips in the future.
