Own a 2009 and I?m not sure a 2017 will replace it

I have a 2009 RTL( top trim ) that I bought with 73,000 km on it in 2012. The review above is spot on. That being said , when I look at the 2017 model with its new look and suite of safety nannies ( CMBS, FCW, LDW, ACC, RDM, LKAS, ABS, EBD, TPMS, TSA, VSA) , it?s poor infotainment interface and it?s somewhat unmasculine look , I am actually wondering if a used 2014 will be a better choice for me. If you?re considering an original Ridgeline you should know this. I?ve driven all the 4x4 midsize pickups of the same era and the Ridgeline is unbeatable in snow and winter highway driving. My Ridgeline has never failed, gotten stuck, not pulled what I asked. It?s 9 years old , driven every Canadian winter, always parked outside and it doesn?t show a single rust mark( even at the stone chip coverups ). It?s required nothing but one set of brakes and tires in its life. It literally has never been in for an unscheduled service in 160,000 km. Now the bad stuff you will need to live with. Guys seem to hate the looks, woman seem to like the looks...go figure. You can get a 2? suspension spacer but that the limit for lifting it. Tire size options are very limited, so no mudder look in your future. Gas mileage is average. Highway wind noise is bad , especially with the roof rack. You get Bluetooth phone paring and an aux port on the dash above the glove box. So the Twitter generation will be annoyed by its lack of connectivity. But in my opinion it is this generations inability to disconnect while doing the task of driving that has necessitated the addition of the aforementioned suite of electronic driving assistants now standard in the new Ridgeline. If you want to drive your truck and not have it drive you, or at least interfere every time you plan on changing lanes or pass in traffic , then don?t have any reservations about buying a used original Ridgeline. It will be the most reliable, most useful, best handling truck you will ever own. NOTE: Those with 5th wheel trailers, 4 horse trailers or regularly tow a caterpillar need not apply.

Sturdy and reliable

Exceeded my expectations. I drive it everyday. I feel safe in this truck. Very convenient when I go to short trips to Costco, Home Depot or hiking. Designed very well.

Love it so much I sold my '06 to buy my '14

It is like a family sedan (roomy for a family of 5 and a large trunk), sports car (very responsive handling on throttle and steering wheel), and a pickup truck. The only downfall I see is the visibility. Pay attention, use mirrors and shoulder checks and all is fine.

Rode and drove like a dream!

The truck was amazing! Lots of room for 3 people in the back seat when we went on vacation. Lots of leg room up front. Plenty of places to store things! Decent gas mileage for a truck. It drove like a car!! Rode good too!!

Got one for the boat

Bought the Honda Ridgeline Sport in black color specifically to tow a boat. Towing capacity for this boat is 5000 pounds which with the boat and trailer weighing 4000 pounds gives me plenty of towing capacity leeway. 4WD. The Honda Ridgeline Sport is a better looking option than the RTL and other Ridgeline models but doesn't come with Navigation ( instead I use Garmin), and sunroof (don't need), but the Sport trim package does include nice sporty wheels and a sportier grill which gives a styling profile which I like. Honda has since redesigned the Ridgeline in 2017 but the new design is not distinctive as the old ones with that rising side panel in the bed. The new ones do have better gas mileage which is the one weakness with the original Ridgelines. I love my truck and it's got a following that's cult-like as to owners swearing by the truck. If you can get ahold of the first production ones with low mileage than you will enjoy it for years....after all it's a Honda and they last forever with basic care.

Great Pick-Up Truck option

Car has everything in terms of Comfort, ease of driving, storage room and modern extras including bluetooth and usb charging ports. Rides like a Honda Pilot with a little beefier look.

Honda's El Camono

One capable midsized truck. A truck you can take to the hardware store then to dinner. The body styling grows on you. Love the two way tailgate, swings out like a door or down like a normal pickup. Another great feature is the huge locking trunk built into the bed. The trunk can be used as large cooler. Back up camera is built into rear view mirror, makes backing up easy.

Older Ridgeline better

The older body style on the Ridgeline is distinctive. The new ones just look like a regular small truck.

Low maintenance vehicle I've ever owned.

Bought it because I like it's compact size and have a good history with Honda. Went 160000 on previous vehicle only did schedule maintenance and the replacing of wear items.
