Love my 2013 Sonata

Car handles well. Has a remote starter which comes in handy on those cold northeast mornings. The one thing that bothers me is the dashboard above the steering wheel. and the speedometer. That part has what looks like a U shaped cover over it and during the day the reflection of it shows up on the windshield so you look like you are looking through a U shaped target. Not too bad at night. Kind of gotten used to it already but it can be annoying sometimes. Other than that I have no complaints about the car yet!

Horrible gas mileage!

I recently traded in a 2009 Sonata GLS that was a great car. Purchased it used w/25K miles on it. Aside from needing brakes earlier than I expected, it was extremely reliable. So we decided to trade it in for a new 2013 sonata. In 35 years of car buying, this car has been one of my biggest disappointments. Having only driven it for a month, I can't speak to longer range reliability, but I can report extremely poor gas mileage. My last sonata got approx. 23 mpg in city driving. This one, with the Eco button activated, gets between 17-19 mpg city. Strangely, with the Eco button deactivated, the mileage goes up a bit. I have never gotten up to 20 mpg yet. I returned car to dealership, and I was told to only buy BP gas--that other customers had reported that this helped. I have only been using name brand gas, including BP. Otherwise the car is extremely comfortable and it drives reasonably well. The control panel is very 'busy' it's difficult to locate the gas gauge, for example. I also dislike the temp control--there's an odd human-like figure that shows where the blowers are aimed (feet, upper body) that I don't care for. It's merely a button that you press to cycle through the directional options. The figure has a head that looks like a button, but isn't. It works, but it's just a little odd looking. All in all, I'd be perfectly satisfied with this car if not for the horrible gas mileage.

quick assessment

Our 2013 Sonata has all the features you need. And at this point --3weeks -- it's a good car for the price. The negatives- it is a bit noises and the ride is not as sound when compared to our '04 Buick LaSaber

The Best Bang for the buck! Part 2

After buying the 2011 Sonata Se 2.4 and being very impressed with the car, we put 28,000 dependable miles on that Sonata. We were so impressed that we decided to trade in the 2011 for a 2013 Sonata Limited 2.0T Black same colar. I did the research vs.competiters and fully loaded with every option the Sonata is a better purchase that saved us money. We know its a dependable car, the bluelink features are easy to operate. Engine is powerfull, gas milage is great, you can get what they claim it depends on your driving habits, the eco coach can help. 3rd year in design, there should be little to know recalls, can't say the same for the compettiters. Back up camera helps although (2011 Se) didn't have it and I made out fine teaching two 16 year olds how to drive with it with no problems. 5'2" 17 year old would drive it and see out of car with no problem. I tell you this because if you rang from 5'1 to 6'1 like myself visabilaty is pretty good all around. Limited suspension is more comfortable than Se. This time I get heated seats, hd rad, turbo, panaramic, & back up camera.

Great car for the money

Amazing amount of options for the price, heated seats, keyless start is such a nice feature - no more fumbling for keys. Very expansive interior space. Even with a 4 cylinder, the car will move when you need it. Great gas mileage. Love it, no complaints. My 6 year old daughter really loves it as well.

Great Car/Great Price

The 2013 Sonata is a very good looking car with many features. The Bluetooth is standard, and is extremely valuable. I also like the BlueLink packages offered by Hyundai, including the Essentials Package, which allows me to send text messages using my voice. Lots of room in the car and trunk, very stylish.

2013 Sonota Limited

I traded my SUV for the new 2013 limited model. I traded to obtain better gas mileage. The first thing I noticed was the gas mileage was not adding up. it seemed to be getting around 20 in the city. The highway was on point with 35 mpg. The leather seats started to show alot of ware really soon and could be alittle more confortable. The ride is a bit rough although not too bad. I would recommend this car if gas mileage is not a concern and the cloth seats because the leather is not that confortable.

2013 hybrid

Bought this car new. After 1500 mi. the car started cutting out and bucking in the morning, kept it up at usually low speeds till you reached 45 mph or faster. Ater the car warmed up there were points of hesitation when pulling out in traffic. Not good!We told the dealer what it was doing, and ne said it was normal for the Hybrid.Great news! Well after driving over 50 mi to our dealer 3 more times they finally said to leave it they would fix it.Gave us a new hybrid loaner. STRANGE that one ran fine.Ours did also at first.Picked up car after 5 days.Ran far ,got it home the next day it started all over, same as before. Back up to dealer.Tried to fix it. It was a little better. Next same problem.BACK UP TO DEALER.This time a factory rep checked it out.Well he said OPERATES NORMAL . iN THE MEAN TIME WE CONTACTED CORP several times. The kept passing the buck. Dealer said they would make it good.Yea, for $3000 more they would give me a car like I had.I said no. They could not fix my car and they wanted me to pay.The dealer said we have done every thing we can .We are done and hung up on me.So I wrote CORP. a letter. In Short they also said tough luck.TERRIBLE CO. TRADED IT FOR A 2013 HONDA.
