2016 Hyundai SONATA consumer reviews

Purchased a 2016 Honda Civic EX. Sold it within three months because of build quality issues that surfaced after I purchased it. Was going to move to the more reliable Accord, but Honda dealers depreciated the Civic almost 25%. So I decided to give Hyundai a shot and only loss about 12% on the Civic in trade. Was a little apprehensive about Hyundai, but relatives owned a '06 Sonata with 300K miles on it and a 05 Tucson with more than 200K. Based on features my Hyundai Sport came in at about $19,400 plus tax. With it I got an easy to use entertainment system with great Android phone integration, power seats with lumbar, long seat bottoms that support my thighs, conservative but long standing body design, twin chrome exhaust pipes, led daytime driving lights, humongous amount of front seat and back seat leg and knees room. Performance? Hardcore rapid, exciting acceleration that makes your heart skip a beat. NO, you won't get that!! It is a relatively mild accelerating cruiser that gets up to highway speed sufficiently, but don't go trying to dart out in front of some semi-tractor that is close behind you when you merge. NOTE: I knew this before the purchase because I rented a Sonata for a few days, before the purchase. Fall in behind the big guy. Ride quality? On a nice road, think of riding along on a smooth piece of silk and a very quiet cabin that allows you to talk at normal levels and be heard even in the back seat. It absorbs most bumps without any drama and unusual vibrations. I've driven an elderly friends new Camry to take her to appointments, the Sonata is 'definitely quieter' and by a noticeable amount. Handling well, it is not tight. There is a constant state of steering corrections, because the car tends to want to wander (I knew that before buying it). If you try to throw it around a corner going fast, it will return the favor and throw you towards the opposite windows. In other words it does leans when pushed hard. The engine makes a little racket upon strong acceleration, but once you are at cruising speed you will not hear it. There's an area that I called the 'gasp' zone, between 1250 to 2000 rpm, where it seems like it needs to quick pause or rest to get it's energy. Then past 2000rpm, it is fine again. I rent cars and noticed that little 'weak pause' area is 'not' present in its sister car, the Kia Optima. The Optima seems to accelerate smoother and faster with the same engine (so I assume it is tuned differently). However, when I compared the Optima and Sonata with the same equipment, the Optima was more than $2,000 more. Bottomline: If I had to do it again, for all of the features and great warranty, I might get the Optima. But this is to me a very good car compared to the leader, Toyota Camry. The Honda grabs me more, but the price is significantly higher than both the Optima and the Sonata, for a vehicle that is similarly equipped. I'm happy with it and its almost paid for, yes!!

I think the age of 'cheap Hyundai' is going to end soon. Hyundai will be like Samsung and will be one of the best & burgeoning brands like Toyota or Subaru. I have been thru 4 Toyotas in my life and I never complained about a single one of them. I guess my Hyundai will also be as reliable as I am experiencing a smooth, comfortable ride for my daily commutes.

this car is awesome. and it's price is good. i prefer this car. this car is smooth when u will be drive. and it have good audio quality.and interior have lots of space than other cars. and it's have advance technology. it's good for highway(long drive).

In this range sonata is the best car with all the features and comfort which other cars give you with plus 10k pricing. It is best value for money.

It's a gasoline saver, it rides nicely, I love it!!! I would like a moonroof, I took 2 trips to Michigan and the car drove very well, I didn't have any problems at all, it was a great driving experience!! It was very relaxing and I will tell all my family members and friends about my experience driving Hyundai Sonata 2016

This is big car and having enough space. Having big trunk. In dark the interior light loks very beauitiful.

This car surprised me in so many ways. Roominess,fuel mileages and performance. We have over 50,000miles in less than a year and have no issues at all. Even tires are still passing inspection...

This car far exceeded our expectations. You can put two full sized, even tall, adult passengers in the back seat comfortably, with plenty of both head and leg room - even with the sunroof! Sunroof is great in the summer, heated seats are great in the winter. This car has everything we could want in a sedan. Handles great on winding roads as well as on highway.

Plenty of legs room for my daughter on the back. Love the car.i would recommend this car to all my friends.

This car has met all my expectations..took it to Alabama and it drove like a dream. I love the backup camera and the easy radio functions from my steering wheel. The seats are very comfortable and the trunk space is very roomy, the only thing that is missing from this car is a sunroof!!
