Major lag
We have the 2017 Tucson value with the turbo. We started having problems around 8k miles took it into the dealer and they said a part need to be replaced on the turbo. Then around 18k miles we were having the same problem basically the car gets locked into gear and can’t get up to speed so I am driving the car like it’s a semi truck because I can’t pull out onto a road with a speed limit of 55 and not be able to get above 35. I took the car into the dealer again and they reset the computer this obviously doesnt fix the problem long term just a temporary fix. The car itself is very small and I am not very tall. The back seat has room for 3 car seats but it’s very hard to actually use the 3 seats in the back since the middle seat buckled over lap the side seat also the shoulder belt is so high that it’s uncomfortable for me to sit in that seat as an adult. We also have issues with our suspension to the point that our tires need to be replaced at 18k miles because the centers of the tires are bald yet the outside still look good.

Nice SUV
This is a very nice SUV with leather and heated/cooled seats. It handles curves and turns well. All the extras are easy to access and add to the luxury feel. Seats have plenty of adjustment options and there’s lots of leg room. My only complaints are it’s need for better shock absorbers also the gas pedal when inching through traffic. It sputters and acts like it might die, giving a shudder as you try to inch forward.

My first Hyundai and won’t be my last
This car has met my expectations 100%. In addition the dealership has been fantastic during the purchase and subsequent routine service visits. As a long time Ford owner I’ve discovered I can get everything I had in my previous cars, plus. My next car will be another Hyundai, and my dealership will be Shawnee Mission Hyundai.

My third and best Hyundai
I previously drove the 2006 Tucson and it gave me years of reliable service. The 2017 Tucson is a vastly improved model, with a much smoother ride and features like Bluetooth, charge ports for electronics, options for multiple radio stations and a one-touch system to raise and lower the back seats. The cargo space is much better and more spacious, although the overall dimensions of the car are roughly the same. I can put a piece of plywood in the back deck or comfortably transport five adults. I can split the seats and pack my skis and still have lots of room in the back seat.
