Great car, just underpowered

This is a great car! its got snappy steering. awesome brake pedal feel. very good on gas. i odnt drive my car lightly by any stretch and this car takes a beating and still comes back for more. its been very reliable. only issue ive had with it were the brakes (my own fault though). The interior is well thought out and everything is clear and ergonomic. The exterior has those amazing aggressive lines and the fenders are on point. Like the title says it is pretty underpowered. i have to drop the pedal to the floor any time im getting on freeways or pulling out into traffic. The turbo model would be much better suited for petrolheads. But once you're up to speed the thing comes to life. i can weave in and out of traffic any time i want to. It has noticeable understeer under heavy meneuvering. but with a little left foot breaking it stays nice and tight. i can hit any apex with ease in this car. i was very surprised by the stock stereo as well. Loud, Bass has good response and everything is crystal clear at loud volumes. again. this is a great little car. it just needs a limited slip differential and more power

Sporty Car with Great Fuel Economy

Our 2012 Veloster has almost 100k miles on it, and has given us nothing but joy since we got it. The 2-doors-on-one-side, one-door-on-another is a great concept, and the car is roomy and comfortable. The only thing to keep an eye out for is the suspension- we love it, but it's definitely firm and sporty feeling... not soft.

what a great little roadster.

This car thinks it's a porche. It corners like it's on rails. The sunroof and backup camera will make you think it's a luxury ride. Plenty of room for a 3 door car.

Fun car!

This little car is amazing! The third door is nice for back seat passengers. My veloster has all the upgrades except the turbo. The navigation system and back up camera is a great feature. Great on gas!!

Decent Car

Good gas mileage and sporty look. Overall mechanical design and function are not well thought out or up to speed with other make or even models.

Good value

I've owned my veloster for 3 years. Purchased used with 40k and the balance of the bumper to bumper warranty (powertrain is nontransferable unless you buy from the dealer as a cpo). It has the style and tech packages (Nav., Roof, 18"wheels, keyless, etc.). The amount of features are great, especially for the money. The looks are love it or hate it. Unfortunately the car isn't as fast as it looks. Handling is actually pretty solid, although it compromised any chance of comfort in exchange. Mpg is good. Mine is the 6 speed and I average 28 in town. 40 is doable on highway stretches. Its a unique car, loaded with features. Just don't expect much in performance or comfort and you'll be fine.

125K miles and still going strong

I bought this car new in 2012 to commute to work and to tow behind an RV. It is a manual transmission so it is perfect for twoing. 4 years and 125K miles later it is still going strong. A wheel bearing went bad at 95K miles and was replaced under warranty. The panoramic glass roof shattered at about 50K miles and was replaced under warranty. Other than that, no issues. It runs great, is a lot of fun to drive, gets good gas mileage and is easy to tow. I plan on giving it to my teenage daughter next year. it will be perfect for her.

Perfect Match

Best car so far bought it pre own and i still get up to 60,000 manufacturing warranty (sweet) car drives real smooth, so many high tech options you don't need extra gadgets at all. excellent on gas if you drive normal aggressive drivers will not be impress on gas mileage and power remember this is a 1.6 car 0 to 60 in about 9 seconds so take that in to consideration but if you are looking for economic, reliable, good looking and high tech car this is the one for you. at 65 mph on freeway i get around 40-42 miles per gallon going 75 mph around 32-35 miles per gallon on city driving Normal driving around 27-30 miles per gallon.driving above normal( a little crazy) around 25-27 miles per gallon i never get bored on this car is excellent for long driving i can listen music from many sources usb drive,my phone,XM radio or pandora i don't even look at my phone to make or receive calls Bluetooth work great no mechanical problems so far at 39,000 miles i give for stars on performance because on the lack of power on stop and go if that is your concern get the turbo your choice power or high mileage. my only complaint is the air vents they broke easily everything else love it
