Incredible fast car; tight suspension and steering

Been a very reliable car all these years. Works well in snow using the AWD and snow switch on dash. Very comfortable seats and fun to drive. Step on the gas and get pushed back in your seat with power.

Best kept secret on the market, INFINITI FX 35!

Very sporty and dependable. Fast, but the AWD will eat some gas. Always wanted one. Kept this and bought a QX 70. Buy it and you'll have no regrets.

This is a sports car

I bought my 04 FX used with 92k miles. I decided I wanted one after driving a 2017 QX70, but Decided the design of the QX70/ second gen FX was not for me. The exterior styling of the 04-08 FX is by far one of the most beautiful performances crossovers on the road. I haven?t had any major problems with it, and get compliments on it everywhere I go. The reaction is always, ?that?s a 14 year old car?!? And Iove that about it. Now it?s time to mention the issues: the first gens tend to have an issue where the driver seat will rip on the side, but it seems to hold up. The seat controls on the early models is also on the left of the seat which can steal some seat room which could be uncomfortable if you are a bigger person (06-newer resolved this) the ride is very sporty, so if you are expecting a luxury feel like from a BMW, or Audi, you will be very disappointed. These are SUV versions of the 350Z/G35 coupe, and ride as such. If you want a sports car without compromising cargo room, this is your car. If you want an luxury crossover, buy a Q5.

Very comfortable with the extra horsepower.

Affordable luxury. All the perks I had with my BMW at half the price. The 3.5 liter V6 has the muscle needed for the open road.

245,000 and no major issues

Let me start with saying that I have driven this car like I stole it for the last 12 years. I manual shift the gears on the auto transmission on the way to work, I take off from every light like a teenage drag racer, and I destroy the brakes on this thing. I have not been kind or nice to this car but I can not kill it. In over 245,000 miles, the only issues I have was a leaking head gasket which I fixed myself. Around 215,000 miles, the transmission started slipping and I was sure it was from all of the manual shifting I had done and gear it down to slow the car, but nope, after topping it off one time, it was back to normal. The only other maintenance done on this car was changing the camshaft position sensor which has been done ever 80K miles and oil changes/brakes. I do not know if a better car was made than this. I would buy one of these cars with 120,000 miles without a thought. Get the oil changed every 3,000 miles and take care of the leather interior and this car will serve you well for years to come.

Great vehicle

Perfect small SUV. Back seat folds down to move a lot of stuff. Great handling like a car but the size of an SUV.

Great car, where it counts at least.

I've had two Infiniti cars in since I have been driving (i'm 30 now and I started around 17, so you are welcome to do the math). I currently drive a 2004 FX35 SUV. It's starting to show some signs of aging, but overall it's safe and reliable. I may have to sell it soon due to the fact that the parts are insanely expensive to replace. Overall it's comfortable, drives like a race car, and feels sturdy. The only issue with driving it is the fact that the rear visibility is kinda bad, so parallel parking is almost impossible at times. I think that was part of the sacrifice of making an oddly styled body. It looks cool but that isn't a practical aspect. One major gripe I have is that infiniti is really stingy on the small details and accessories. Say goodbye to your 6 cd changer (mine broke after maybe 3 years.) and the door handles snap off like twigs. They use cheap plastic for those things, and the dealership charges a bloody fortune to replace them. That part really makes me angry, since I've lost about 3-4 handles in the 10 years i've owned the car. It's a huge inconvenience. Also, things like windows and body panels are ungodly expensive. My rear window was busted by a stray golf ball once. the cost of the window was $900. Thank god it was paid for by the golf course. SO anyway, to sum it up, for the most part you are getting a really great car. This company really can do better when it comes to the small stuff, especially when you are paying for a fancy Nissan. Stop using cheap plastic for your door handles. Ditch the convoluted cd and unreliable stereo systems. Put a little more money into those imbelishments, and you will have what is essentially a perfect car. Also, keep the rear viewing radius in mind for future models. The things are built like tanks, so I always feel safe in it. That and the great motor really are huge selling points. They do tend to go kinda south in the last few years (my 95 j30 did not do well in it's last few months). So my suggestion is to expect to keep it maybe 10-12 years. After that, get rid of it.

Great Car

I have a 2004 with 108K miles on it. It has been an incredible car with no issues. The only money I have put into the car has been general maintenance and needed to clean the throttle body out twice. Looking at getting a new one so I can have Bluetooth and some of the new bells and whistles they offer.
